Can’t say enough about this washer... washes great, quiet, too many features for me to figure out, and HUGE! Was able to fit my fluffy king comforter in...with room to spare and save a trip to laundromat!

Our laundry room is right off our bedroom in our new house so we wanted a quiet machine since my wife likes to do laundry at night.

Bought this as a pair and have enjoyed the way it washes. I was pleased with how easy it is to operate. Very customer friendly!!!!! It has not disappointed me at all, so far. I am also pleased at how quiet it operates. I have it next to my kitchen, and it is very quiet when on.

I’ve been saving for my LG washer and dryer for a long time and it was worth the wait! They are high tech and are water and energy efficient. We can wash comforters to the most delicate with peace of mind.

This is our second LG front-loading washing machine. This new one is similar, but the controls are easier to use (nice improvements over the many years since we got the first one.) The Turbo wash feature is a really nice feature because it shortens the cycle time a lot. We got the raised platforms which lifts the machines about a foot and makes it much easier to load and unload the laundry. We bought LG again because we had absolutely no problems with the old ones and are hoping the new ones as just as reliable. (Also bought matching electric dryer -- ditto on comments)

I purchased this LG washing machine about 6 months ago. It already has smeared ink on the panel fonts! I had LG repair service here for a different problem and I was told that LG uses cheap ink for their washing machine panel. I'm going to contact LG about this issue, even though the repair guy already told me they don't cover this cosmetic issue under factory warranty. Not only is there a cosmetic issue, but this machine makes an awful rattling noise. The service guy tried his best, but he could't fix it. I absolutely regret purchasing this machine.

This thing is loud, impossible to balance, and will make your clothes stink. When the spin cycle kicks in it's like a jet taking off. I have used a level and vibration pads but this thing isn't having it. Now to the worst problem the mold. It is impossible to get rid of it. We always leave the door open and wipe down the seal but the mold grow behind it. Please give me a refund or a credit so I can buy a top load washer.
Great Stackable's - Delivery experience not 5 Star

I've only had them for a few weeks as it took three delivery attempts to get it right so my feedback for Best Buy Customer Service is not very good. Long story but they shipped the right set with two inexpreienced installers who said the stackable holes should have been pre-drilled. Two weeks later the exact same set and stackable kit showed up with experienced installers and they were able to get them set up with no problems. I'm disappointed with how much time and money I needed to spend to do my laundry at a local laundry mat when the initial delivery, redelivery and re-re delivery were not my fault. I would have thought Best Buy would step up to the table and offer some compensation for the three appointments required to get the set installed. For my purchase, Best Buy used a delivery company called "Pacific". You can't call Pacific directly and they don't begin their customer service/delivery help desk until 9:00 am Eastern 8:00 am Central. So if you live on the east coast, and have a morning delivery window you won't get anyone on the line until 9:00 Eastern should you have a question on your delivery. So all these little tidbits may make you wonder why I rate the set 5 stars? Like I said, I've only had them for a few weeks and if you remove the delivery problems and look solely at the performance of the Washer and Dryer, they get the job done. They are both remarkably quiet, easy to use and they gets the clothes clean and wrinkle free.. The one exception to wrinkle free is if you are a frequent steam dryer user, there is a little downside to the steam function of the dryer as you need to manually fill up a container. There is no direct water line to the dryer. When I asked the Sales Consultant how often this needed to be replaced I was led to believe it didn't need to be filled after every load. This is only true if you take your clothes right out of the dryer and don't use the steam cycle. If you're like me and forget them overnight, the steam refresh does indeed use up 80% of the container so you need to manually refill it after every steam refresh... Not a huge deal and again if you take the clothes out of the dryer within 15-20 minutes of the original dry cycle end, you can put them on hangers and no ironing or steaming is needed. The washer runs on very little HE soap (make sure you get the right measurement as most detergent directions have you putting in 4-5x more soap than is needed.) Not only does this save on soap, it also keeps the odor that people complain about with front load washers to a minimum. My clothes come out cleaner than ever with less soap and I can already see the LG will require fewer cleaning cycles to clean the washer than my previous Kenmore Elite set. Hope this helps!

Great Washer with a Few Issues

I have had this washer for a year now. It is easy to use and my clothes come out clean. The washer is efficient and has loads of settings. I won’t go into lots of detail about all the settings as you can read about those in the manual, but there are a few things one should know about this washer if you are thinking about purchasing it. First, I had another similar model of LG washer before this one and it was trouble free. With the previous model, I did experience the air hammer issue when the washer starts and stops the water fill cycle (very common) so I had the plumber install air hammer arrestors put on my plumbing line near the water heater in my attic and that took care of the problem. However, with the new LG washer, the air hammer noise was more pronounced and my existing arrestors did not take care of the banging. I went out and purchased a pair of small water hammer arrestors to install on the back of the washer near the water inlet line and voila!, the noise is gone. Simple, inexpensive, do-it-yourself fix to solve a common complaint.
I find it a little noisy and it vibrates a lot during the spin cycle, even though the washer is perfectly balanced. This was another common observation reported by several users.
The other complaint I have about this washer is that after a few months of use, I experienced soapy water coming out of the back air vent during the spin cycle. This was another common complaint of some users. It is apparently due to soap buildup in the washer. LG advised me to get some Affresh washer cleaning tablets and use it for three cycles back-to-back and once a month thereafter. (Unfortunately, Affresh is expensive and usually runs $2-3 per tablet.) They also advised me to use very little soap-1 to 2 tablespoons per wash load and that’s it. Don’t fill the soap dispenser anywhere close to the line in the dispenser cup —that is too much. These high efficiency detergents make very little suds, and the LG rep said you should just barely see suds in the tub when you are washing. I followed the suggestions and I haven’t had any problems since with suds coming out the back of the washer. Just a sidenote – I had my previous washer for several years and never had this problem so perhaps they changed a part inside the water washer to make it more sensitive to soap buildup.
All in all, this is a great washer. You just have to understand how it works and make some adjustments.

The Turbowash 4.5 Cu. Ft. 12-cycle Front-loading Washer With Steam is the first front-loading washer we have owned. The unit is easy to use and unbelievably quite. We have not had any issues with cloths not getting clean and handles heavy hunting cloths and comforters with out issue. I am glad my kids are all grown up; the cycle completion sound is pleasant, but little kids would think the Ice-cream Truck was in the neighborhood.

We haven't had a chance to use all the features yet, but thus far the experience has been solid. The machine is very quiet. The cycle-concluding tone is a pleasant announcement. We like the dispenser tray, no more gloppy detergent caps. Setting up cycle features is logical, with an easy interface to set up soil level, water temp, spin cycle speed, etc. Clothes are noticeably cleaner than our prior top-loader. The clothes do seem less damp after a spin cycle. However, a load of jeans does seem to be a bit of an achilles heel - so do not run a large load of jeans to get best performance from the machine (particularly dampness levels at the end).
We haven't yet tried any of the sterilizing cycles or the steam function yet, so can't comment on those. Our unit is on a basement, cement floor, so any wobble or machine noise is mitigated. But overall, we're quite pleased. We use floodchek hoses which have greater potential water flow. So washer fill-ups work to machine capacity.

Some cycles take a couple of hours to finish, but there is a turbo wash option that takes around an hour to complete. No matter what cycle you pick, clothes come out smelling clean and fresh. I even tried a huge load (really packed the clothes in there), and the washer was able to handle it, with NO vibration. Easily, the best washer I've ever purchased. My previous washer was a Whirlpool Duet, and it had vibration issues all the time.
Pros:
Tons of Wash Options (I have only tried 2 or 3 of them so far)
Easy to Clean (has magnetic in door, that allows you to close the washer door while leaving a gap..this prevents mold growth).
Easy to Use, even my 10 year old kid can do his own laundry
Nice quality and looks great!
Cons:
Small items like socks can get caught in the rubber around the door. But, I think that's common to most front loaders.
Double check your house connections, the washer hoses doesn't come with clamps.

Had this washer for a few months now. Lived my whole life with cheap top loads... never again! LG front load on a pedestal is the way to go. Quiet, efficient, spacious for big loads, easy to use and functions better than the rest.

Great Washer

I am a repeat purchaser of the LG front-load washer. We recently upgraded to this model and for the most part I am pleased with the performance. I have not had any issues with vibration noted by previous reviews, but I did make sure the washer was completely level and I am not using pedestals.
The washer has lots of features and is absolutely beautiful in the graphite steel. There are a few differences in this model from my previous model that are a little annoying--first, the Cottons cycle that I used most often automatically defaults to the Turbo Wash setting, which is a shortened cycle. This setting did not seem to get my clothes clean so I prefer the longer, standard setting. So now I have to remember to cancel the Turbo Wash setting each time I do a load. It should be set the other way around, where Turbo Wash is an option. The instruction manual is not clear on this and I had to Google it to learn that it defaults to the Turbo Wash setting. There also seems to be more water remaining in the gasket after a load than in my previous washer, but this is just a minor inconvenience in having to wipe it down after each load. Also, Best Buy indicated that the hoses come with the LG washer, but mine didn't have them. LG customer care told me they stopped including them so you'll need to purchase your own.

generally very happy - installed level, quiet in an old 1940's house with wood floors. this LG size is the smallest stackable of the newer larger capacity pairs so they fit together in a closet, with a few inches to spare. a great improvement from our last set of kenmore stackable set. lots of functions and does default to Turbo Wash, so just pay attention if you don't want to use that feature. some settings are not available on some presets, and still have not read through the manual after a month, pretty easy to figure out overall. cleans and extracts well.

Love this washing machine. It's quiet, has lots of cycles and options and has a huge capacity. The barrel has a slight inward tilt so it drains well. Combine dwith the magnetic latch that keeps the door slightly ajar when the machine's not in use, mold and stale smells are kept at bay.
The steam, allergen and sanitize cycles are wonderful and the turbo wash feature really does a good job of cleaning, unlike our last washer. The first several uses of the steam option created an odd smell, but like many new appliance, that first-use smell dissipates quickly.

Excellent &Smallest Ultra-Large Washer

This is an excellent ultra-large washer that has all the features that one would want. We've had it for several months, and it's working flawlessly. This washer has the smallest footprint of all the ultra-large washers - from front to back it's like 3 inches shorter than others so it doesn't stick out as much.
