Nice monitor, but its definitely very expensive. Purchased it to create marketing materials where the extra detail would be needed.

Stay far away from this monitor. I purchased this to go along with my MacBook Pro since Apple stopped making their own monitors. This display has major image retention issues. If you have anything on the screen for more than a few minutes you will see the image burnt in as soon as you close it. When you open a new window you can still see the image behind your new window. I contacted LG about the issue and since I was over a year they just said too bad. For $1300 I would hope they would stand behind their product but obviously that is not the case. I have an Apple Cinema Display and have never had an issue. I purchased this thinking it would be a premium product but that is far from the truth. As others have stated this monitor was very cheaply made and definitely not worth the price tag. They are simply taking advantage of Apple users with this price point. I also talked to someone at the Apple store and they were fully aware of the issue. They recommended that I contact LG about the issue, since they are also aware of the problem, but as I already stated they weren't interested in fixing it. They recommended that I contact an authorized LG repair center at my own expense. I don't mind spending extra money on premium products but this monitor should be priced in the $500 range not $1300!

I bought from BestBuy the 22-inch model of this UltraFine, not this 27-inch model, but the 22-inch model has been discontinued and is no longer listed here. My new LG monitor was sharper and richer than the monitor of my iMac, when I first bought both six months ago. But now "with age," LG's quality has deteriorated, now my iMac's monitor is sharper and its colors are richer and with show greater subtleties. Only six months! The LG is still a good monitor, but now my iMac's is better. Beware all the hype when comparing it new!

the Image Retention issues are an absolute joke for a 1,300 monitor. You will 'Youtube' etched into your wall paper. Honestly this display is completely ruined by the Retention, it sucks and for this to be on an IPS panel is just a joke. LG do not stand by their products, they do not care. This is a shameful apple/LG product. If you buy one of these today, rest assure the connections issues has MOSTLY been fixed, but the image is just messed.
