Customers recognize the UltraGear 27" IPS LED QHD monitor's exceptional picture quality, high refresh rate, and vibrant colors as significant strengths. Many appreciate its value for the price and the effective performance of its G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility. However, some users point to the HDR's dimness and the monitor stand's design as potential drawbacks. A few also mentioned issues with IPS glow, though this is often considered inherent to IPS panel technology.

WQHD Never Looked this Good

This is an amazing monitor, not only is it gorgeous from a looks perspective but it's so well built and easily worth the money. I did a lot of research before diving into this and the two things that stood out to me were: 1. Great Price 2. Nano Displays gradual improvement which is a LG exclusive/LG technology. When I compared similar monitors to this, those monitors were in the $500-$600 range an easy $100 to $200 more. Then WQHD resolution makes this monitor fantastic not just for gaming but for any type of productivity reason. Using this thing in an Excel Spreadsheet is godsend due to the amount of extra information is displays. It's also browsing the internet while watching videos. Build quality is great, doesn't feel like corners were skipped anywhere and I love the subtle sleek look, it doesn't have the in your face gamer look and if you were to look at this monitor from the front there's little indication this is a gaming monitor.
The only cons are the Nano display while amazing, has a lower contrast ratio than typical IPS monitors. Of course it makes up for it with wider viewing angles and more accurate out of the box colors. The other cons is I wish it had more ports. It has two HDMI ports and one display port, this would have been better served with two HDMI ports and two Display ports. Or even a Mini Displayport. Performance overall for Display port is better than HDMI, the cables aren't as common but Display Port is on almost all Laptops and Desktops now.
In conclusion, buy the monitor if you're looking to get the best WQHD bang for your buck out there.

I bought this so that I can be able to run PS5 somewhat decently. The colors are really nice and the different modes help w overall picture, especially if you are playing a dark game. It doesnmt have 4K or HDMI 2.1 or whatever, but I am not trying to spend a fortune for a 27in monitor. This was a great middleground and I do not regret at all after using for a few months.
I didn’t really think about it, but having a nice monitor actually improves graphics by having colors shine and crispen up the lines. 10/10 would recommend.

Upgraded from a 4K 60hz LG27UK600. I use strictly to play Xbox Series X and PS5. This is a beautiful monitor! I tried the benq ex2780q which is nice because it is a remote and built in speakers, but the picture quality on this monitor made it a no brainer me. Can play 120hz but it will scale down to 1080p. Call of Duty Cold War still looks amazing and worth the 120hz. I turn HDR off and play on vivid mode. Colors pop and the monitors recognize this as a 4K monitor although it’s 1440p max. Got it while on sale but I’d highly recommend this monitor.

This monitor has the best image quality I have ever seen in a computer monitor. It being 1440p gives it a nice balance between detail and performance, and the 144hz refresh rate makes it an excellent candidate for any kind of gaming. And the colors? OH MAN the colors are OUTSTANDING. They are very vibrant and there is a wide range of colors to be displayed. It is definitely worth every penny.

I bought this to pair with my series-x and razer blade 15 and it works like a charm. Went from playing xbox one on a mini projector and can really see the difference. Also really great for my coding classes at school and flip the whole monitor vertically. Also got the warranty incase, but everything is great so far. I got it for 100 off the reg. Price so watch out for the discounted prices, they're way more valuable if you pick them up that way.

Beautiful color and high fps! Awesome price for the monitor. It's a great monitor if you can one without dead/stuck pixels. Took me 3 (one had over 5 dead(not stuck) pixels!) returns until I receive one without them. Also, please note that the light in the corners (view in dark color settings) are not backlight bleeding, but IPS glow. though they are not considered "defects," it's a common issue with IPS monitors. honestly, it doesn't bother me that much. I will buy LG monitors in the future.

Unbelievable performance for an excellent price. I previously used an LG 27UD69P 4K 60 Hz monitor, which was beautiful - it is difficult to explain just how gorgeous 4K gaming is with a 27" screen.
But 4K gaming is a bit too expensive right now, so I needed to swap out my main monitor for a 2K. I chose this one and I could not be happier. I didnt realize just how buttery smooth G-SYNC can be. Yeah I sacrificed some visual beauty for buttery smooth performance, but it is such a worthy trade-off.
Along with the better performance comes improved input latency and faster pixel response times and as a result, quicker reaction times. My competitive gaming performance more than doubled.. For example, 700 dmg Apex matches to 2000 dmg matches. I cannot stress enough how much your performance in games can improve with a monitor like this as opposed to a more "generic" 60Hz panel, even if it is 4K. Moving images are crisper and can be seen more clearly allowing you identify targets on the screen while firing, moving, jumping, and in well pretty much all gaming scenarios. In comparison, identifying objects in motion across the screen of my 4K 60Hz panel is much more difficult due to the pixel response time being slower and reacting to objects I eventually identify is slower because of the higher input lag.
As for visuals, it is beautiful, not as sharp as my 4K panel but I acclimated very quickly. There is some IPS glow and some light backlight bleed as is the norm for IPS panels and the contrast ratio isn't the best, also as is the norm, but I don't want to spend $2500 on a FALD IPS money pit of a monitor that requires a screaming 90db 120mm internal fan spinning at 3000 rpm just to keep it cool.
tldr Buy it if you want a very well balanced gaming monitor for a reasonable price, compared to everything else on the market.

Pros:
* G-Sync compatible registered right out of the box
* 144 Hz
* Great colors, after calibration
* Mountable
* Looks really clean from the front
* No RGB
* No dead pixels
Cons:
* No USB hub if you need it.
* PLEASE stop with red and black "gAmER" designs
* OSD also suffers from what people think gamers want. (I really just want the regular LG OSD)
* 1 ms response time is a marketing gimmick. Overshoot makes the monitor pretty unusable in this mode. It's still incredibly responsive at around 5ms.
* A tiny bit of backlight bleed.

This monitor was on the Youtube channel hardware unboxed as the best gaming 1440P IPS monitor. After reading all the other reviews I decided to pull the trigger. This monitor has been nothing short of amazing. Reading text is smooth and pleasant, gaming is buttery smooth, and video content looks great as well. I am very impressed by how well it displays dark colors. Just buy it (or two) and you'll be very happy. No dead pixels no issues. Comes with both an HDMI and Display Port cable.

LG 27" G-SYNC IPS monitor- A good monitor for less than $500. In order to get the fps I wanted = turn off HDR. Upgraded from a 1080p ViewSonic, to this 1440p... HUGE difference. 27GN850-B is the latest year model minus the USB(not a real loss). 144Hz via display port. Oh guess what NO BUILT IN SPEAKERS!!!!! I am now shopping. for a pair of decent PC speakers so I can remove my headset and let my ears dry up. I think BOSE makes some good companion speakers...

After some tinkering with the settings, the picture quality is great. Just don't expect to be using much of the HDR as it doesn't work so great. Expect IPS glow, it's unavoidable and many people complain about it thinking their monitor is defective. For those who don't know, it's a glow in the corners of the screen that's only noticeable in very dark scenes. You eventually get used to it so it's not a deal breaker.

I'm in love with this monitor. It just checks all of the boxes. QHD, High refresh rate, adaptive sync, IPS panel with great viewing angles and colors. If you're a PC gamer looking for a great monitor-this is it. I've had other IPS and TN panels but this just looks and feels the best. It even has two HDMI ports if you wanted to hook up something like a cable box or a game console. Overall great deal and I would hands down buy this again.

I'd been looking at upgrading to a 144hz monitor for a long time and was actually looking at the LG 27GL850 since last year when it came out. But it was hardly ever in stock and always full price. This model, the 2020 model (GN, 2019 is GL), is everything that was great about the 2019 model, but without a USB hub in the back and to be honest I don't even miss it.
The display is crisp, and very vibrant. I can't tell how accurate it is, but it definitely displays reds better than my old Dell U2412M. Very nice to look at.
I was worried that my old GTX970 wouldn't be able to drive it very well, but it's been fine the last few weeks running at full resolution, 1440p. Though I don't play very intensive games with this setup, I can tell a clear difference between my old 60hz and this 144hz monitor, everything is much smoother!

Ive now owned this monitor for a good 5 months and i love everything about it. The colors are bright and spot on, great response time and havent had a single problem with the monitor. Definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a 1440p monitor. A little pricey but worth every penny. Will be upgrading my 2nd monitor to this one soon. If you're on the fence about purchasing this, DO IT!!

I would say this monitor is definitely one of the top of the line monitors.The colors are amazing and the resolution and refresh rate are nice. The 144hz makes the whole experience very smooth. The 1440 resolution means that even with 27 inches everything is clear as can be. The setup for the stand and the monitor is one of the easiest I have ever done. The stand sadly only tilts up and and not side to side.
My only problems with the monitor is slight white fringing around the ends of the monitor, although they are barely noticeable during gaming or any other activities. The price tag is also a bit high. Although the monitor is g-sync compatible and is hdr I would say 50 dollars less would be a much better deal.

The monitor looks great, the stand is solid, the colors look awesome after some tweaking. Overall id only buy this monitor if you play games that don't have any dark scenes and for daily computing.
Dark scenes with this monitor were unbearable. When playing PUBG, a fairly bright game to begin with, I was forced to increase the contrast to a very saturated level when inside a building. Then once your out of that dark area everything is far too bright.
As for anyone using a playstation or xbox dont bother trying to get 120hz to work at 2k... it wont.... support was no help and dropping it to 1080p looks even worse. Playstation doesn't support 2k (only 1080p or 4k) so it upscales the picture to 4k which looks terrible as well.

I have had this monitor for almost a month now and it is just perfect. I play games and the colors and resolution are much better than any previous monitor I’ve owned. Being that is is an IPS panel monitor all the colors are vibrant and pop out, and that is also perfect for many who work in digital art or media. Overall, this is a great monitor to have if you love to play video games or work in digital media.

I’ve had this for a few days now and I love it. It’s my first LG panel and I have done extensive research on the GL850 but could not find any in stock anywhere. Luckily this newer model has arrived which to my knowledge is the same, without the USB-c. It’s been living up to the great reviews the GL850 has received and I’m very glad with my purchase.
Considering it is an IPS panel there is slight glow on my monitor in the lower left and lower right corners but it is not enough to deter me, and is only slightly noticeable when the screen is completely black.
The HDR seems to be pretty good however you will probably have to tweak game setting so that things don’t appear too bright and washed.
Overall this is a great monitor and worth the money and lives up to the praise the GL850 received.

Love this monitor! Did tons of research, and bar none, thus is the best deal on a 1440p 144mhz gaming monitor for the price!! Colors are vibrant, but not oversaturated, frame rendering quick, and size is perfect. Monitors which are too big, have alot more mouse space real estate to cover, so 27inches is perfect for the gamer!! Well done LG, great for watching movies too!!
