    The “Supercar” among gaming monitors

The specs speak for themselves, those who can understand the technical aspects of monitors will surely appreciate how far the limits were stretched to bring this display to the market. For those who do not, all you really need to know is that the “bar” is set here. Beyond that though, the next question to be answered is “Is it worth my money?” To play off the car analogy a bit, I’d say that in order to power a “Supercar,” you need a powerful engine. If you have bare minimum computer hardware, you wont get anywhere near the best performance out of this monitor. And you’ll have spent the equivalent of 3 “good” monitors on something you’ll never fully appreciate. For those of you that do have a few horses to play around with though, I can’t recommend this monitor any more highly. OLED is just so much nicer to look at than LED or LCD, and the refresh rate and response time make it a joy to game on. One of the more understated points of the entire package is the remote thats included. Instead of messing around with integrated buttons like in the past, sitting back in a chair with a remote in hand allows you to easily navigate the menu. And inside that menu, one of the most important features in my opinion is the “Game Mode” preset menu. 6 different display setting that change the color tone, contrast, and brightness of the monitor. My favorite is the “Vivid” preset, because it perfectly leverages the OLED panel and the underlying “High Dynamic Range” features. Another notable preset is “Reader” which increases contrast as well as reducing blue tones, which is perfect for late night browsing as well as, well, reading. All in all, the current pinnacle of display technology in its class, and frequently on sale too so if you have your eye on it but have a bit of sticker shock, keep an eye on it for a few weeks or look for an open box deal.

Beautiful 27 Oled with a few caveats

Honestly, I would like to start by saying that this is a beautiful display, and amazing to look at it. This isn't my first time owning an OLED panel before but I wanted a smaller competitive size which this monitor fits for me. I'm not trying to hype this monitor up whatsoever but an OLED panel should've been implemented as standard years ago in a monitor this size or smaller but only up til now they wanna start producing these calibers. The thing that was interesting to me was the HDMI 2.1 port that is able to support up to 12-bit color! Most modern specs out there use DP 1.4 but are only limited to 32.4 GBS of bandwidth, while HDMI 2.1 is 48 GBS of bandwidth, which is far superior. I hear people complain about the matte finish and the brightness and let me tell you that it's good enough. People are just so spoiled by an OLED or Gloss that they would think this monitor needs a glossy finish, which would be nice but not necessary. I can presumably see why people would want such as oily display coming from matte but it doesn't affect you at all unless you are OCD or just a nit-picky person. The only problem I see when I use HDR on HDMI is it looks washed out but switching DP, it looks better. Can anyone tell me why is this even though HDMI is capable of handling higher bandwidth? Also, I know many people fear of Burn-Ins on a monitor, yet even with these protective cleaning such as OLED Care they are still susceptible. You might as well buy a 4-year warranty here at best buy because the 2 years warranty that it has from LG only covers defects but not Burn-Ins. I've also manually overclocked my monitor through the Nvidia control panel and you can see it hits above 240hz if you were wondering if it's true or not, do be wary it will probably void your warranty. Though it's probably not worth much to overclock it anyways since DAS is completely disabled and there is no way to achieve that unless you revert it back to regular 240hz which takes full advantage of DAS in Gamer 1, Gamer 2, FPS, and RTS mode. Overall, it's decent but not a mind-blower, maybe first timers would be shocked if it's your first OLED but yeah that's all there is for now I will keep updating this review on this monitor and let you guys know. ALSO, NOTE THAT DON'T BUY THIS RIGHT NOW AND WAIT FOR IT TO BE ON SALE UNLESS YOU HAVE THE URGE TO PULL THE TRIGGER. NOT FULLY WORTH $1k BUT STILL a GOOD MONITOR. I BOUGHT IT SO I CAN REVIEW IT AND LET YOU GUYS KNOW IN DETAIL WISE.

Definitely recommended and fantatsic Display. Deep blacks and amazing color. I feel like the proce could be slightly better, but overall fair for what you get. I dont have an issue with the screen not being glossy but would of preferred it to be. I can see the issue with especially on white backgrounds like Chrome or Word. I would recommend having your windows set to dark as its far less noticeable on Chrome. Unfortunately for Word and other programs that use a white background. Not much you can do. If on Windows I highly recommend turning OFF energy savings mode that can only be accessed through the remote and by having HDR turned off to have the option appear. Stupid its like that but probably understandable for some. I would even recommend Wallpaper engine for active Wallpapers. Not saying it will solve burn in, but might help long term and it has so many options that are generally cool than typical wallpapers. I would recommend auto input switching off and turn on screen movement to either 2-4 to help again with the chances of the burn in or retention. I doubt many will have this issue or least those that know what they have and are cautious while using it. Ive had my LG E7 for about 6 years now and its still perfect and so is my C2. If you still have concerns get Best Buy’s protection as they will cover this issue. Anyway, overall great monitor but its very dim with Energy Savings mode on that is hidden. I must say its better than the Sony M9 not just in picture but in the fact it actually works! LG, for future OLED Monitors please DONT do this type of screen. I believe glossy is the way to go here. For everyone else the monitor is definitely worth it and nothing can quite compare. Well maybe other OLEDs of course.

Obviously too expensive at full price, but the open box prices for this aren't bad at all. The display is gorgeous and the motion clarity from OLED + 240Hz really makes a difference in fast paced games. It definitely is a little dim at times, but at peak brightness it can often be too bright still when you're in a dim room. If price is no object to you, other OLED 1440p 240Hz displays like the ones from Asus and Corsair get much brighter, but I prefer LG as a brand much more.

Was in the market for a new monitor to upgrade from a 144hz ips monitor. Had my eyes on this one and the alienware one, but ultimately decided on the lg. Really love this monitor the picture quality and gtg response times are amazing and blow any other monitor besides other oled display out of the water. Bought this for mostly gaming ( Rainbow Six Seige, Rust , Tarkov, ATS, etc.) and the occasional youtube binge watching. Out of box experience was seamless did not use the stand as i already had a monitor mount. Picture quality is amazing of course you can always tune to your liking in the settings. As far as brightness goes its decent its not bad but its not comparable to other panels such as ips or mini led ones. Blacks are true blacks and are amazing especially in dark rooms. Refresh rate is right in the sweet spot for 1440p and most mid to high end pcs should be able to either hit or exceed the 240hz. Price wise its worth it but even better if you can snag an open box one or when it goes on sale. All in all I say if you want to switch over to oled this is definitely a worthy monitor to purchase. There are also plenty of reviews on youtube of this monitor that go deep into the color accuracy, ghosting, brightness, etc. so i would recommend you check that out first before buying

I have over 800+ hours on this monitor and it is amazing. The brightness is a bit low compare to some LED monitors out there but if you want the OLED benefits in a monitor, then this is the product! No burn in so far! I keep my taskbar on hide, then keep the standard pixel shift and standby options on. To increase the contrast I am using Nvidia's Digital Vibrance. Blacks are really blacks on this monitor. My background is black, sometimes I forget if the monitor is on or off because I had my taskbar (I don't have burn-in, but I hide it to much sure I don't get burn from the task bar.)

Love this Monitor. wanted to wait a bit before reviewing it, but after a month. I'm glad I got this monitor. it truly does pop. specially paired with a mid to high end GPU like a 4070 Super, This monitor exceeded my expectation. Yes i will add it is not as bright, and the whites aren't super white. but i don't mind it, specially when i have bad eyes already, and need to wear glasses. would recommend getting it. specially if you find a deal like i did. the pic really doesn't do it justice!

UPDATE THE MONITOR FIRMWARE IT WILL SOLVE ALL OF YOUR PROBLEMS. It will also take like 2 hours for some reason. So long as you temper your expectations to the reality of owning an OLED, this is a phenomenal product. Do not expect it to be nearly as bright as an LCD. Only thing I hate is the software, it is terrible and makes games stutter like crazy if you allow it to run. It also defaults to starting on boot up, which you can disable through task manager. Enabling Gsync causes the brightness to flicker in some games but that seems like more of an Nvidia oversight than an LG issue.

Really a great monitor if you know what you are getting. The screen is a little dim just be prepared for that. It is super fast making it the cleanest picture I have seen on a gaming monitor. Works flawlessly with PS5 and Xbox Series X and obviously PC Included remote has a battery tray that requires a very small screwdriver to open to install battery and seems very easy to strip the head of the screw. Would have loved the option to chose glossy screen vs this matte finish Have not owned it long and might get more used to it but as of now for me its not my end game monitor. Waiting for 32" 4k 144hz glossy screen OLED Included picture of RBG around the back thats controlled by the remote

This monitor is beautiful. I never realized how crazy a jump to oled would be until I tried it. Blacks are super black and hdr looks great. Complaints of it being dim are invalid to me I think it is just fine. The issues of text clarity are only prevalent with tinier fonts too so I rarely ever notice it. Overall awesome I just wish it was glossy instead of matte but other than that it’s great.

This is first and foremost a gaming monitor. I've seen all kinds of conflicting opinions in reviews- it's too dim vs. the brightness is fine. The coating is terrible vs. the coating doesn't bother me. I live in a loft with windows on 2 walls- it is almost impossible to find a position where there aren't windows directly opposite the monitor. As long as I draw the blinds, this monitor is plenty bright. Is it burn your eyes out bright? No- it goes about as bright as the C2 tv, which has been highly praised. Is it great for gaming? Absolutely. Playing games in HDR feels like a whole new world, and the nature of the WOLED display adds a level of clarity that seriously rivals 4K in gaming with the added benefit of it being easier to drive and get higher fps. The coating is fine. I do notice it, but no more than any other matte finish. Frankly, I prefer it to a glossy coating, as I would have mirror like reflections on the display, even with my blinds drawn. Color are rich, blacks are perfect, and the display is beautiful. Text does have color fringing, but disabling ClearType and increasing scaling to 150% still makes text look a lot better than some other 1440p monitors I've used. The stand is wonderful- it actually raises high enough to have an ergonomic position for gaming. You do have to baby this monitor a bit- I've hidden my taskbar and enabled full screen mode in my browser, as well as established aggressive monitor sleep modes to minimize the possibility of burn in, but the return in the gaming experience makes it worth it. You can find a better price elsewhere, but since LG doesn't cover burn in and the Geek Squad protection plan does, I consider that a huge benefit, plus they will match Amazon and B&H Photo pricing. I think a lot of negative reviews were expecting this monitor to be world changing with burn your eyes out imagery. It simply isn't that, but delivers on its promises. Yes, it could be a bit brighter, but that's a limit of the current technology. You do have to tweak the settings a bit to get the results you want, but once you do... I'm excited for the future. This is a first generation product, and LG hit it out of the park as far as I'm concerned. I can't wait to see what other improvements come with the next generation of displays.

Let’s get it set in stone first, the monitor is just downright beautiful. The colors pop (NOT oversaturation), the display is super thin, blacks are true blacks and the added back lighting is a good touch. For the sale price of 850, i think its pretty good considering how new the tech is. Now for the cons, the monitor is dim. If you compare a normal ips, its significantly dimmer than that. BUT, to me, it wasnt that big of an issue. I still use it at 70% brightness while doing office work and its never been a problem. Your room lighting may vary your mileage. When it comes to HDR, its plenty bright. I usually game in semi dark room and sometimes its too bright for me. Another thing to note is the amount of safety features you have to turn on. A slight annoyance but will go a long way to protect your purchase. I would suggest just buy the Best Buy protection. Comes with burn in protection if ever something goes wrong. Overall super happy with the purchase. Its a joy to use it everyday!

This LG UltraGear 27" OLED is an absolute game-changer! The OLED screen makes everything look crisp, with deep blacks and super vibrant colors—seriously, once you see it, regular monitors just don’t compare. The 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time make gameplay ridiculously smooth, with zero motion blur. Whether you're playing fast-paced shooters or immersive RPGs, everything just feels and looks amazing. Having both FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility is a huge plus—no screen tearing, just buttery-smooth visuals. HDR10 support also adds extra depth, making games pop even more. The only real concern is potential OLED burn-in, but as long as you use the built-in screen protection features, it shouldn't be a problem. If you’re serious about gaming and want one of the best monitors out there, this one is absolutely worth it!

This is a fantastic monitor if you mainly play games and watch movies on it. The 240hz refresh rate is buttery smooth and the colors pop like no other monitor I’ve used. It’s not a perfect monitor but it really hits all the major points for the category it’s in. My only gripes would be the maximum brightness and the risk for burn-in over time. While it does have adequate levels of brightness, the LG OLED could definitely be brighter allowing for a more immersive experience using HDR and while watching content/movies. When it comes to the burn-in, so far I haven’t experienced any issues but with all OLEDs there is that risk of burn in if you leave static images over long periods of time, which is something worth considering when spending almost 1k on a 27” monitor. Overall for what the monitor is meant for its a 5 star product and easily has the best visuals I’ve seen on a monitor of this size. You will not be let down if you decide to go the OLED route!

Oled looks amazing but it has the lowest brightness compared to other oled monitors and unfortunately the vrr has a tendency to flicker in darker scenes with can prove bothering not to mention hdr has the same issue and makes the picture darker than it already is. But it does have hdmi 2.1 so you can use it for console use for 120 fps and some cheaper oled models don’t feature this if it’s a necessary thing you need in a oled monitor, all in all it’s really nice but I’d look towards the other models like the MPG 271QRX near the same price with a brighter screen, hdmi, 2.1, and probably a better vrr. Still great but I recommend others or simply waiting for cheaper and better oled models which are sure to come!

Received this monitor for my ps5. Solid quality build. The LED lights on the back are a nice touch. Image quality is fantastic and very smooth. HDR kicks in automatically on some games. Does image cleaning periodically after turning off the ps5. Comes with remote. Easy enough to access settings and configurations. This monitor is capable of 240hz at 2k which is definitely overkill for a ps5, but I received this as a gift from my wife so I’m grateful! There are 3 cons I’d like to point out. Maximum brightness is NOT bright lol. I do play in my basement so I keep the room dark. Next is the anti glare. Brings the brightness down even more. Lastly, the price. Don’t need to say much about that. Which is why I’m giving this monitor 4 stars. Overall, I’m very happy with this product and I would recommend it to anyone looking into oled monitors.
