Worst IPS glow I have seen right out the box.

I originally bought this monitor on 11/5. I had to return the first one because it came shipped with scratches all over the front of the monitor near the Ultragear branding. The second one had some of the worst IPS glow I have seen straight out of the box. The pr or tag on this monitor is a joke. LG has some serious quality control issues. Look elsewhere if you are going to spend this kind of money on a monitor.

Beautiful picture quality. It's nice and bright and responsive. The monitor seems to have some firmware issues, or some kind of issue in how it interfaces with Nvidia's drivers. I have an RTX 3080 and when I launch a game in fullscreen mode, the monitor will switch automatically to running in 4k. This halves the 240hz refresh rate to 120hz and is only fixable by running games in windowed or borderless mode. There are reports on reddit, LGs product page for the monitor, and Nvidia forums with users complaining of the same issue. I also had issues where the monitor would not consistently detect a signal on boot, making it impossible to access my BIOS or dualboot bootloader. I am using a VESA certified Display Port 1.4 cable. Sometimes I wouldn't get a display at all until my OS completely booted, and sometimes I wouldn't get a display at all and had to use one of my other attached monitors to sign in to Windows or Fedora Linux. I also had issues with Adaptive Sync / FreeSync. I understand that running FreeSync on Nvidia can have some headaches, but this is monitor is certified to be G-Sync compatible. I would expect the feature to work at a basic level with some caveats, I would have flickering and artifacts on my Windows desktop, and would experience a strobing effect in game. I contacted LG about the adaptive sync issue and was told that this can sometimes happen at higher refresh rates. I attempted to lower the monitors refresh rate all the way down to 144hz to see if that would resolve the issue, it did not. Adaptive sync seemed very finicky, sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. I don't usually return products. I have several years experience as a computer repair technician and software developer. Usually I find work arounds for small annoyances, but this monitor seems very fickle. I like to keep displays for 5 or 6 years, and I honestly couldn't see myself dealing with these problems for that amount of time without pulling my hair our. The two days I spent troubleshooting this monitor was enough for me. On a $200 - $300 monitor, small annoyances are somewhat acceptable, but on a +$500 monitor, I expect the product to perform flawlessly and as advertised by the manufacturer. This was my first LG monitor purchase, and I'm not sure if I would purchase another. Best Buy was extremely helpful in processing my order and accepting my return. I expected a stressful back and forth over black friday weekend over a high dollar return like this. but they listened to my concerns and took care of the issue for me.

others state that the resolution is stuck at 4k even though it's a 2k monitor; however, i have not had this issue with mine. There has only been a visual bug indicating that's what the monitor states in certain video games, but the settings automatically played in 1440p (2k) and 240 hertz. After tweaking the visual settings a bit, the colors and image clarity are out of this world. Would definitely recommend, don't worry about the 4k problem (I'm almost certain it's a visual device name bug, because the FPS and refesh rate are similar using my same rig/gear on my last 1440p monitor).

This display is nice at 2k! I do love the design of the monitor its black with some RGB on the back but nothing crazy. It was easy to set up out of the box comes with required DP cable, HDMI cable and USB-B. I am not a fan of LG's OSD. I feel like they really limit how you can tweak the colors to your liking. I think it is a good HDR monitor but Windows HDR sucks that is not LGs fault. The reason I returned this monitor is because I do not think pitcures were clear when watching Movies, or Youtube. It just looked off for some reason. For gaming it works great!

LGs latest series of displays at 240hz deliver a quality picture and will remain a more affordable option as OLED takes over display tech in the coming year.

Overall i think that this is a wonderful screen. My only gripe with it is that it DOES NOT have auto-detect so i have to manually change the input which is annoying because this doubles as a work monitor and a personal computer monitor.

The monitor was great when it wanted to work. The monitor is supposed to be 1440p, but it kept wanting to go 4K, which halved the refresh rate. It also had a dead pixel with it 3 days. If Lg gets a firmware update to stop the 4K thing, this thing would be great.
