Let me start by saying up front that I have a minor hearing issue. I've got about 85% in my left ear and about 15% in my right ear. With that being said, my right ear is really only good for picking up bass. LOL. I've used a specific bluetooth speaker for the past 5+ years and I still LOVE it. At the time I bought it, it retailed for $200.00 and is still to this day one of the best sounding bluetooth speakers I've ever heard. However, this Lifeproof Aquaphonics, for being their bottom-tiered model is AMAZING! I do what I always do when testing a new bluetooth speaker for the first time. I check vocal tones and treble through my most-used app, Twitch. With the streamers voice, game audio, music and such, it's almost the best of both worlds for testing purposes. While this gets nowhere near as loud as my go-to speaker, I don't expect it to. However, it's current volume is great for how this is designed and for the small size. It passed the Twitch test great. So, I moved on to listening to music in Spotify. I listen to a lot of electronic style music (Infected Mushroom, Daft Punk, etc) and it sounds great there as well! This gets almost as loud at 3/4 volume as my other one does at 1/4 volume, which is saying a lot. My only nitpick with this, if I had one, is that it could use a little more bass. My wife tested it with some of her music (consisting of mostly current radio hits, lol) and she was really impressed, although she also noted the minor lack of bass as well. The packaging is really nice and makes you really feel like you got something for your money. However, there was little in the way of instructions. Physically, my main concern with wear/tear on this device is in the charge port cover. Pulling it off of the port, which is attached by a sliver of rubber going to the inside, can be a little tricky. I was worried I was actually going to tear the rubber hinge while getting the charging cable plugged in. Also, the bluetooth button always stays lit and flashing while in use. I've not figured out a way to stop it. Not sure if it's continuously searching/pairing or what is going on - it's not really outlined in the manual that I could find. Outside of this, controls are easy and self explanatory and this thing really feels heavy-duty, like it can take a beating. For the price, I'd definitely give this two thumbs up and would even recommend it to others, especially if you are the outdoors type (pool parties, camping, whatever). It even has a built in hinge that you can use to hang it onto things, maybe even attach to a bike. It's designed to be very mobile and easy to handle.

This is awesome and just what I needed. Easy coonect to Bluetooth, nice clear sound, great volume, water resistant, nice size...I just love it.

I absolutely hands down love this little speaker. Great sound, Light weight and I can hear throughout the house. I have not used in the water, dirt or snow, so I don't know how weatherproof it will be. I have used life proof cases before and they are excellent. Charging, turning on and off is easy and connecting is easy as well. There are different sounds when the device turns on, syncs and turns off. The only thing I don't like so far is when the low battery sound comes you have to plug up immediately. Othrt Bluetooth devices I own give you a warning 5+ times before shutting off, this device only one warning. The box says 16 hour play time, it lasted 3 hours right out the box. I haven't used anymore for more than 3 hours, so I am not sure how long the battery truly lasts. This device is easy to travel with and loud. I would not recommend listening in a hotel room unless you turn the volume down but otherwise I would definitely buy another.

Lifeproof makes great products, so I was looking forward to getting this unit. The unit itself has a great design - the ports have silicone covers to keep out debris, the case of the speaker is sealed off to prevent water from getting in. It's lightweight, and has a clip to attach it to your beach bag or backpack. It is pretty durable. Linking it to my phone via Bluetooth was easy. The one thing to remember is that this unit does have a lock feature, so that all of your settings are locked, so that has to be unlocked before you can change anything on the unit. The only concern I had, and why I rated it only 3 stars, was that I had issues with it keeping signal. I was playing satellite radio via an app on my phone so that I could listen in the bathroom while getting ready for work. At first, it worked great. Then, the signal started breaking up, so I had to move the radio closer to the unit. That helped some, but the signal was intermittent. The units were maybe 10 feet away from each other. Other than that, it's a great unit.

I am very happy with my purchase. It is small but powerful. The volume is crisp and acute. I actually dropped it one time and nothing happened to it. I take it to work, to the park with my kids. The sound quality is great and it can fit just about anywhere.

Has great sound for being so small. I left it unplugged for a few days & it still had lots of juice left. We've used it at the pool & dropped it in the water & it still played as soon as we took it out.

I love this little guy, super cute great sound, light weight, great battery life. You can take it anywhere. Great purchase! Great Price! I’ve noticed that while connected to my phone I can only walk away about 5 feet before losing connection, but my brother has the same speaker and he can walk off about 10 feet on his. It could just be my phone, I haven’t tested it with anything else. I got mine on sale for $50, so Overall a great buy.

Although LifeProof products can be a bit pricey, they have saved me much more in far more costly repairs and or replacements then if I would have settled for a lesser product. With their limited lifetime warrenties and tested designs they have a product for almost every consumer’s need and have become a trusted brand for me. So, when they released their AQUAPHONICS portable Bluetooth speaker line it was a must have for me. They offer three different levels of portable speakers that are all very portable and I’m sure all stand up to any other portable Bluetooth speaker on the market. Especially for those who are looking for a durable speaker to take on any imaginable outing and want to get the best bang for their buck. Since I already have a larger Bose that isn’t as portable, is far larger in size and less durable. I decided to go with the smallest of models out of the three offered the AQUAPHONICS AQ9. To my surprise the AQUAPHONICS AQ9 pack quite a punch when it came to sound and size. It has turned into my go to, everyday portable Bluetooth speaker and has unfortunately put me Bose in the closet.

It was great volume even for a surprising large space, the sound is great, even better than expected. Also waterproof, yes please. Great for float trips or pools the 16 hr battery life is really great for floating, ideal. Also has its own caribeaner which is a plus. Love this truly.

Sound quality is surprisingly good. Decent battery life. And the clip is a useful feature. It’s also pretty durable. I’d buy it again if I needed another Bluetooth speaker

After having this product, I am a LifeProof customer for life! The music stops if it goes underwater. It has a sturdy clip to put just about anywhere. 16+ hour battery life. It has a lock button so if you push the power button, it won't shut off. Great speaker!

Big volume for small item great sound very compact waterproof take it anywhere on your bike boat car motorcycle very beach friendly and river ready

The speaker is really great for use in a small room. (I usually use it in my office at work.) Pros: (1) Volume is soft enough that it doesn’t bother my office-mates. (2) Compact size so I take it back and forth with me from home to work. (3) Fairly long battery life where I can use it about 3 days before charging. Cons: The speaker is compact, so don’t except top notch sound.

I initially went into store to buy a JBL flip and came across this and automatically loved the life proof features as my husband uses for work, the clip was a plus. I kept for a week to try it out and just didn’t like the sound. It’s loud but if there’s a lot of background noise going on then it’s not loud enough. Life proof features and clip work up to there standards as always

My husband purchased this to use during his Spartan obstacle races. It lasted through the shower with no issue. The clip is very user friendly to hang on a backpack or bike. The sound is pretty good for such a small speaker. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Doubted sound, surprised about sound and size, great and versatile

This product is small enough to carry anywhere, has the capacity to provide loud music (impressed me), and is water proof! I enjoy this speaker more than I thought I would!

The sound is absolutely awesome and the built in clip is so helpful. Charges really quickly and lasts quite a while. So worth it!

We got this for my son this past summer and he carries it with him everywhere. It's nice while playing bball with his friends and a sudden summer rain comes along. It's size and wt is good for almost any activity.
