The light works great with its proprietary app and smart things. My son loves all the colors he can make the light. We use if this then that with the light and it has worked very well. Will be buying more to add to the collection as budget allows.

I love this light. Its very bright and the colors are fun to add some interesting effects to your house. I have had a few issues with it loosing the Wi-Fi connection but they have been pretty rare. Overall I think its a great product.

I do not have any Hue bulbs, so I cannot compare to those. However, I have several Cree Smart LED bulbs to compare. The Cree, $15.00 ea. at Home Depot, are a third the price. However, that may be the only advantage they own in this comparison. The LIFX bulb has color, has a greater range of "dimness" (ie - it gets brighter and dimmer than the Cree) and has many IFTTT recipes ready to be used. Both bulbs connect to my SmartThings hub, but the LIFX also connects to my Amazon Echo. Though the Echo doesn't do a great job of dealing with the color and brightness of the LIFX bulb, it does well enough to make it a worthwhile upgrade.

I love these bulbs, the color and brightness are awesome. You can set scenes and timers. The only reasons this bulb got 4 stars is no way to use a photo to match colors and not HomeKit ready yet.

Love these lights! I have 4 now and setting them up could not be any easier. The iOS app also is great, and allows you to remotely turn on/off the lights or setup a daily schedule to turn them on or off. Highly recommended!!!

Looks great and has good design. Bulb is bright. Easy to use with wifi. Need to bring the price down.

I gave this a 4 star mainly because there are times that the light does not synce with the app. Meaning it looses connection with the wifi. So all I would do is turn of the main switch and turn it back on to get it synced again so I can take advantage of the app capabilities. The light never gets hot so it's great to have it on as long as you want. If I could afford to replace all my lights in the house with this I would.

Bought this for my girls room. They like the ability to change colors. I like the ability to schedule an on time in the morning when they need to get up for school!

I love the fact that these LED bulbs connect directly to my wireless network, no hub required. They're brighter and the colors are way more accurate than its competitor. Best. Smart. Bulb. Ever.

Buying more at one time will save you money direct from Lifx site. But I only needed one and they had it in the store, so got it that day. Works well for the living room swag light, where the switch is behind furniture. So I can turn it on by PC (my room),Tablet (Kitchen), or phone (wherever). I do need to use physical switch when network loses power. Gets back on network no problem. I probably could have gone with just the white one, but if I am going to spend this much on a light bulb, why not go for broke. The color changing is neat but have only used it when I first got it, and when people come over. This bulb does more then I will ever use it for and if you compare it to other color changing bulbs it does more then they do too. It's brighter, has more colors, really good app, requires no hub, no cheap looking remote. The 'hey Google turn on my lights' doesn't always work and after yelling at the tablet four or five times it just easier to tap the light on. Cortana does a little better and Cortana doesn't need to be 'In' the app to work, it will open it by itself. This makes a little more sense then opening the app first and then talking to it, when you could just hit the button. Anyway if you want the best quality it will cost you.

I use these daily. Setup is a breeze and the lighting controls are fantastic. I change the color and brightness to suit my mood or whatever I'm watching on TV. I love the scheduling feature. I can set them to turn off just in case I fell asleep with them on and I can set them to turn on any color. It is great to wake up to a warm glow in the morning. I also like the ability to turn them on or off from outside or in bed. Highly recommend!

I got this light to work with my Amazon Alexa and it has been great. Easy to setup and I even bought a 2nd one so I could do my entire living room area. Then I named the bulbs in my LIFX app and the Alexa had no troubles understanding the names. My power went out once and I had to re enter my wifi info for the Alexa, but the LIFX bulbs saved all the data and was seemless. So many colors and even so many varieties of whites I love it.

After finding increasingly intense interest in home automation right after my first Lifx purchase, I decided to buy another bulb to add more functions and colors to the house. I was immediately impressed with the intensity of the colors, but found the solid white colors to actually darken the room a tiny bit in comparison with the standard LED bulbs before it. As disappointing as this is to my other family members, I find the bulb to be plenty bright even at 70% intensity in the dead of night. The app for the bulbs is not as user-friendly as I hoped it would be, and may take some training for your grandma to use successfully. You can, however, pair the bulbs with automation apps such as IFTTT, Yomoni and SmartThings to make the process of using the bulbs with a wall switch, a wearable button and even a timer easier. The stability of preforming these amazing tasks heavily depends on how well your router preforms, and how far-apart the bulbs are spaced out for their mesh network. The occasional glitch at the end of the week is somewhat annoying, but any modern router with a stable internet connection can eliminate connection problems instantaneously. I will definitely purchase more bulbs in the future, ready to paint my home in various colors and shades of fun!

This bulb is amazing. You can control it with the Lifx app from your phone. The bulb has a lot of exciting features and theme settings. I have it in a floor lamp in my home theater room, and I like being able to dim it from my phone without getting up to do so once a movie starts. The colors are vivid. The whites can be quite stark. My only complaint is the light from the bulb is still not as warm as tungsten which warrants it a 3 for me.

My granddaughter loves the effects of this bulb and so do I my room was colored bulbs lighting was the worst. Now I have both light and color and much more. Awesome!!!

When it comes to color and app support, LIFX has it perfect. These bulbs have the best color rendition and the app is user friendly and full featured. They also have the best energy usage to power consumption ratio on the market and can lower energy costs significantly. Connectivity has its issues at times but overall a pleasant experience

It has a wider range of color and brightness and is value for money. You just cannot go wrong with this. Additional apps and functionality are awesome too.

It's brighter than your average lightbulb it has hundreds of different colors and you can choose colors and strobe light and dance to the music

This hits more colors across the spectrum than the Philips Hue does. And has more functional control with Amazon Echo. I might be the only one, but I actually prefer the hub of a Philips Hue. Less things to go wrong or overheat inside the bulb itself. But I love the colors and brightness of this light bulb.
