This was recommended by the salesperson at Best Buy. Not only was it a great price but very reliable and the set up was so easy. The range is great and with 2 tablets, 2 phones, 1 smart TV, 2 laptops and a wifi home security no degraded service or slowness.

I was very excited to open the box. My old router would slow down when friends were over and we were using multiple resources. Skeptically I opened a very small quick start guide with 4 instructions on it. However I was pleased to find that I was connected to the internet again in just minutes (perhaps 2 or 3). Then the online interface to adjust various settings was easy and intuitive. With that all done I did need to update my various devices with the new network name and password which was strait forward. I'm not a tech professional by any means but I wanted to see what this baby had in her. First, the connection quality throughout my whole house was far improved. Some devices that only had one bar with my old setup now had 4 or 5. Next I wanted to see what I could get in terms of actual data transfer and use. So I proceeded to do the following: Started a 60 GB data transfer to one of my netbooks. Started an on demand program with my satellite system Started a movie in Netflix Purchased and downloaded some music All the while I was having a video call with a friend on my phone in Skype. This may not be the perfect test but I will say that nothing needed to buffer at any time. I have some friends coming over that do online gaming to check it out further. If there is anything to report I will amend this review accordingly. This a great looking, easy to set up device that does what it says it will do right out of the box.

Bought this unit to replace a higher level (but older) Linksys that had started to experience WiFi drops and even loss of connectivity to the modem (cia physical cable!). This is BY FAR the easiest to set up router I’ve ever owned, and the fact that it can overlay the bands into a single SSID is wonderful. No more having devices switch between 2.5 and 5 GHz networks or having to manage them as separate LANs! The router integration with the linksys range extenders is another miracle of modern networking - this is the first router I’ve owned that actually plays nice with the range extenders and delivers a strong consistent signal, so devices that are linked to the extender - whether via cable or WiFi - don’t experience buffering and intermittent signal degradation. Simply put - I LOVE THIS ROUTER! Thank you, Linksys!!!

    1800 Square Feet

After complaining that my ISP was always to blame for my poor speeds, I decided it was the all in one cable modem router combo (I'll leave off the name since I no longer support the combos after the last two Comcast recommend were poor). My house is an 1800sq ft, ranch style, and I needed to reach both sides of the house. On my previous router, I was lucky to get 10 Mbps, and I could hardly load a YouTube video without it buffering. I've run speed tests throughout the house over the past week and I'm getting great resposes regardless of where I run them (even in my basement). I'm getting 27+Mbps download and 6+upload (I pay for the 25+ wother Comcast). After reading that the Nighthawk had frequent drops, I went with this Asus. I'm extremely satisfied, yet still wish Comcast would deliver fast speeds at a more affordable price.

Updated to this router instead of renting from cable provider. Speed and quality far superior to what would have been our rental. So far completely reliable with no issues. Very easy setup as well.

I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for your honest feedback. This is a great router. I was able to set it up in less than 15 minutes. I connected my laptop and my husbands laptop up to wifi and we have great connection. I love this router. I would suggest getting this router if you want a good one.

The Linksys - MAX-STREAM AC1900 is a real affordable option if you are looking for a AC1900 router. Linksys has a new way the approach router set up in the instructions which may get messy if all does not go well, but after you get connected you will find the router is easy to work with directly or over the web. Very nice. Good router for home or small office. It hits or exceeds most all the desirable specs compared to other routers within its price range, but does not have Built in VPN you would have to flash it if you wanted router based VPN. I personally use the ASUS RT-AC1900 for its builtin VPN capabilities, and it is a fraction better/faster but not as user friendly as the Linksys - MAX-STREAM AC1900. If you are a home user that wants your router to be user friendly and work and be consistent just stick with the Linksys - MAX-STREAM AC1900 and use software based VPN like NORD VPN etc and call it good. Just remember initial set up is a hit and miss depending on your particular setup, but after that you will love this router once you work with it a bit. I like it for small business because I can monitor who is on the network and identify them and allow or block connections as needed with ease and all in real time over the web remotely. IP reservations etc are a snap with a click of a mouse keeping everyone running and network conflicts or IP renewals manageable and nobody has an issue. 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz as well as Guest on either band. Never had any drops on either band. Oh, and it lays flat and looks great great on a desktop. Nice little router. Cheers.

Our old router would require a restart every month. As our kids grew, their access time grew through console gaming, PC use, online movie and TV apps, phones, etc. Usage was so intensive that our cable would start lagging/pixelating for a couple of hours when everyone was home. We upped data with the service provider, and found a router that doesn't rely on a token ring type of access protocol, which would be this one. It handles 500mbps with no problem at all, and doesn't balk when someone is live streaming gameplay, a movie is going, and someone is surfing. The router takes up a bit more space than expected. It certainly isn't horrible, but it's easy to spot. If you are looking for a stealthy access point, this isn't exactly a "blend in on the mantle" design. The WiFi connections are amazing. While I'm sure that there is some degradation is signal, it's so fast and reliable that it's hard to tell. I haven't tested it, or looked to see what the strength is - because there's been no need to. It just works *well,* even live streaming from a different floor of the house. Build quality is excellent. It doesn't look or feel like a cheap snap-together car. It might be a little pricey, but it's already paid for itself through lack of user attention. It's an awesome router, an upgrade that should have been done some time ago.

Good router for the price. The range is very good, and was easy to set up. Once you get the antennas positioned, I have not had any dropouts, weak signals, or dead spots. I highly suggest to use a wifi signal app, such as wifi overview, when determining a location for the router. It is helpful to see your signal strength, and range, so you can get the most out of your router placement/antenna direction. Been using this router for a month now, and have had zero issues. The mobile app is nice for advanced settings, like channel choices, guest network, and such.

I chose this because it was on sale and cheaper than the lower model. I have 2 kids with tablets and video games, the adults also have tablets and smart tv's and phones and thermostats and echo...we have a lot of junk connected and my old router couldn't hang. So far this beast does it all. I also love the phone app that allows me to see what is connected nd label it. I can prioritise connections and more.

This router was recommended by the salesman in the store for my needs. The price was good.. When I got it home I was worried about the ease of getting it up and running. But when I hooked it up the instructions came up on my computer and it was very simple to do. It almost installed itself. And itt has plenty of range. I am on my patio now and the connection is great.

It was actually as simple as promised. I hooked it up to my Ethernet, turned off my old wireless, and booted it up. My internet speeds have more than doubled. My Ping is faster on wireless, and upload and download speeds are massive. All of my equipment, security system, Amazon Fire TV, multiple phones, tablets and computers; all buzzing along great!

Linksys is my go to brand. Very easy to set up and I get great range in my house that is 1500sq ft. I have about 8 devices and I never seem to have any issues with lag or slowing down any of my devices. It works wonderfully for streaming!

I bought this to replace my older Linksys router that was purchased in 2009. It was getting slow and the range was poor. At Best Buy, the technician recommended this router. It was easy to set up and configure, it has great functions to it like Guest access, it is blazing fast, and has a huge range which covers my entire house and then some!

This is a huge improvement over our last router which could not handle all of the devices in our house. This Easily seems to handle 10 + devices plus you can also set up a guest network. The app is very handy as well ! Only had it a couple of days but really like it so far. Was very easy to set up. No complaints.

Setup was very easy, simply plug, enter the password, and go. Has great speed. The manual that is on the CD Disk, frankly sux. It is basically in a foreign language, with a few English words here and there. Product support line is, however, very good and instructions from them are very clear.
