EA9500's Mini-Me

I was impressed with the features and performance of Linksys' EA9500, so when I saw they released the EA9500's little brother in the EA9300, I thought I'd give it a try. I'll be comparing the two routers together and pointing out the pros/cons between the two.
For starters, the EA9300 is a bit smaller than the 9500 - but it's still a big router. The 9300 sports 5 gigabit ethernet ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports and 6 adjustable antennas. The 9500 sports 10 gigabit ports and 9 antennas. So it's a little smaller, but it's still about the same size as a dinner plate in terms of diameter. Where ever you put this router, make sure you have plenty of space.
From a setup stance, the Linksys mobile app is a bit messed up. I found that setting it up using my laptop was a much more straightforward process. I was a bit bummed to that there was a firmware update for a new router right out of the box. So I had to download the update and apply it first before I could actually finish setting up the router. Once I finished the setup on my laptop, I was up and running using the Linksys app. The app is nice because, using a Linksys account, you can monitor and control all functions of your router even if you're at work or anywhere - you don't have to be on the wifi network.
So who's this router for? If you're someone who has a lot of wireless devices, streams video and has a larger house with more rooms, this router is perfect for you. Linksys bills this as one of their routers that's perfect for streaming 4K content - but that's only if you have internet coming into your house at a bandwidth that supports 4K streaming from a 4K source. I don't, but I love that no matter where I am in my house, I can walk all over and there's no dead spots.
With a 2.4GHz and dual-band 5GHz bands, MU-MIMO AC, and BeamForming - with a router like this, you won't have a need for a wireless extender or repeater.
The biggest con in the 9300 versus the 9500 is the 9500 has 10 gigabit ethernet ports. I prefer having my A/V and gaming equipment to have hardline connections to reduce lag and buffering. So with the 9500, I can have my 4KTV, UHD Player, Apple TV, PS4, PS3, X-Box One S, Arlo Camera Base and AirPort Extreme (For wireless TimeMachine support) all connected and leave the wifi for laptops, iPads, iPhones and other devices that are geared more towards wifi. With the 9300, I don't have enough ports to have everything physically connected - but you'll have to decide if that's worth the extra $100 between the 9300 and 9500.
If you're in the market for a new router and you have multiple wireless devices, stream content from Hulu, Netlix, HBO, iTunes, etc, then you owe it to yourself to check out the 9300. It carries a hefty price tag at $300, but with it's specs, it's also a significant upgrade from any wireless network setup most internet providers will give you.
Pros:
* 5 gigabit ports
* Tri-band (1-2.4GHz and 2-5GHz)
* Mobile App support
Cons:
* Setup with app is cumbersome
* Fewer ports than the 9500

I have reviewed the EA9500 and EA7500 before and this router is the best so far. Connection with an AC device produced the speed shown in the picture. The range was better for me than the EA9500 or EA7500. I had better connections and speeds throughout my house with the EA9300. You can read the specs on the product page.
The router is smaller than the EA9500 and has six antennas. Setup was easy, and the manual setup option was easy to find. I went to the manual setup right away. The interface is presented well. It was easy to get around and intuitive to find settings. All of the radios and a guest network are just simple clicks to change. The router already had a firmware update ready, it downloaded, installed, and rebooted with no problems. You can set the lights on or off, but they aren't too bright. It's still a nice option to have. Two USB 3 ports make it easy to use for music or file distribution. The unit connected to my network with no problems and picked up my wired and wireless devices. It has everything you would expect for this class of router with more power. QoS, Network diagrams etc are all there. The only issue the router had was the speed test still wants to use Adobe Flash. Luckily, you can speed test from any browser without Flash.
The highest wireless connection speed for me was 866 on the 5GHz channels. File transfers worked with no drops. I transferred some 4GB+ files and they came through fine. Pretty good for a wireless connection. I never got below 3 bars around my house, better than the EA9500 for me. Instructions are in the router help menus and provide any additional information you might need. It’s a straight forward setup tough.
The EA9500 provides 4 more ethernet ports, and only one of its USB ports is 3.0, but you can always get a switch if you need more ports. Maybe it’s the fact the EA9300 has quad core processor instead of a dual core, but bang for the buck, I’d take the EA9300 over the EA9500 and other routers in its price range. This is a really good router that should meet your home network needs.

Linksys AE9300 Tri Band Router
Packaging and protection are very good for the unit.
The AE9300 Is very well put together, it includes 2 USB3.0 for external storage that is accessible for all on your network to access. The unit also has 4 ports for wired connection, 6 antennas to ensure all areas of your home/office get the maximum of coverage.
Setup was a snap, after using the quick start guide and webbing in to the unit (198.168.1.1) on your browser. The GUI interface is very user friendly. (NOTE out of the box I would use the automatic set up, so it will guide you to log in to your ISP and make setting up faster, otherwise if you do not know what you are doing you may not get it set up right, you can always go back and tweak it)The novice user can just look around at the all of settings without making any changes and it good to go out of the box. (I would change the admin password though and write it down or someone may be able to infiltrate your system and make changes unbeknownst to you) For the Advanced user there are a multitude of options you can configure which include the following:
Configure the amount of guest you will allow or shut off, Parental control of each device that you can set times and sites for access or denial of sites, See a net map of all connected devices (possibly seeing if others are leeching off your network)Prioritize devices to make sure you have the best streaming speeds (like a TV, or Console gaming), Add external storage for access to all on your network, which you can set up permissions to for access certain folders or make it an FTP server, make a media server and allow certain devices access, Assign static IPs or turn on/off the internal DHCP server, Enable Nat or Dynamic routing or even static routing, Set up a VLAN, Trouble shoot individual devices that are having connection issues, Configure and allow DMZ servers, has a built in Firewall, Set up to allow only certain devices access by using selective access (only allow specified users who have their Mac address in a list access), Wireless Scheduler (turn wireless router off per a set schedule to deny all access)
This unit uses a new technology called Smart Connect which switches you from lower bands (2.4ghz) to higher bands (5ghz) depending on what you are doing like just surfing to streaming to ensure you get the best possible signal. On my previous router, I ran Speed tests in multiple locations around my house and even outside. My speeds ranged from 25mbps to 30mbps. With this Router, I retested in the same areas and got an average of 30mbps for about same bandwidth speed. Coverage was great for the is unit no matter where I was in my house.
I also had 4 different devices streaming 2 Netflix, one YouTube, one Amazon and a Hulu connection. All streamed without any lag or interruptions, Quality of all the movies was still topnotch. I ran a speed test during this streaming test and it came back with 20 out of 30 mbps. Which was outstanding to me with the amount for HIDEF streaming that was going on.
I would not hesitate to refer this unit to my friends and family, for some this all these options would be overkill but is sure is nice to know if the need would ever arise for tweaking more security it is here in this unit.
Five stars!!

I received this item on Monday, 5/8/2017. I like to get my reviews in ASAP, however, due to my schedule last week, I wasn't able to hook it up and test it until later in the week. Then, as with any new router, I always like to give it 2-3 days or so to stabilize so I can test to see how it does after being up and running for consecutive days.
The packaging itself is pretty nice. It's a sturdy box with the black foam on the inside, giving it that "premium" feel of getting your money's worth. This is pretty standard fare, I've found, with most modern top-tier routers. Packaging was minimal, only a few loose folded leaflets, the necessary power cable and brick and ethernet cable. I did like that the antennas were already attached to the router and didn't have to be screwed on.
The router is very slick, very modern, but doesn't look "overdone" like some others I've seen that look like a dead bug, upside down. LOL. It has 6 antennas total, 4 on the sides and two in the back. Each antenna can be rotated and then tilted "outwards" into 3 different notches. Very adjustable and they feel very sturdy, not flimsy at all.
Setup had a few hitches. With this being a brand new router, I assumed that like the Velop that came before it, that Linksys was requiring the app for all new routers to be set up. That is actually not the case. I tried using the app to set it up, but to no avail. Then, after rebooting the modem because I didn't have internet, the Linksys screen finally popped up on my computer. From there, I was able to set up the SSID broadcast name, combine the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands into one SSID name, create the usual 32-character password for WiFi and sign into the Linksys account. Nothing too complicated, it's very step-by-step that should fair pretty easy, even for someone without a lot of home network knowledge. Also, it did automatically update the firmware on-the-spot and without fail. The firmware updates are set for automatic and this really does work. You do NOT have to worry about manually updating the firmware on these new routers from my experiences. It gets uploaded/updated to the router within 24 hours of being posted on their website.
As for performance, given that this is a single router system and not a fancy "mesh" network system like the Velop that Linksys released back during CES 2017 in January, I have to say, it has great coverage. After setting up and adjusting the antennas to the right pivot, I was able to eek out about 1,750 - 2,000 sq. ft. before hitting a dead zone. The ENTIRE house is covered, as well as about 90% of the yard. Checking speeds, even when about 25+ft from the router, we capped out on the internet speed (60MB where I live). All devices were wireless, except for the home PC, which consistently capped out at 66MB. For WiFi devices, we tried an iPhone 7 Plus, an older Galaxy S4, another Android phone from Straight Talk, and a Windows laptop. Given some of these devices used the 5GHz band and the older ones, the 2.4 GHz band, I was able to test the speed on a variety of older and newer devices, which all performed well. The 2.4 GHz devices did seem to taper off more at the same range as the 5GHz ones, which makes me believe that the 2.4 band doesn't reach as far as I'm used too, but that's OK. I'd much prefer having a really quality 5GHz band at the expense of the 2.4GHz range/quality...the older devices I have will eventually (and sooner, rather than later) phase themselves out of the household. :-)
After the "setup day" and leaving the router to fend for itself for a few days after, I've not had any issues with buffering on the PS3 device I tested (2.4 GHz band), the steaming stick or any other device. Performance thus far has been rock solid. The only time I rebooted the router was after the initial setup (which is usually a general rule of thumb to do, anyway).
I would definitely recommend this router to anyone, even for someone whom has never set up a router before. For the retail price, it's a worthy competitor to some other brands that I've owned before. I used to really dislike Linksys. After Belkin bought them out, I was even more leary of the brand. The first few routers they cranked out after the acquisition did leave some to be desired, but now, they are really rolling out the punches. I just really hope that Linksys continues with the firmware updates and doesn't abandon any of their newer (2017) routers soon, as I've seen this happen quite often in the past. They release a new product, support it for about 6 months or so, then abandon it.

When it comes to routers, Linksys has it figured out. Long gone are the days where you would have to plug an ethernet cord into your computer and manually adjust the settings. You plug this in, you download the app, and the setup is just fantastically simple. The router had to download a firmware update (which during the setup, is set to do automatically, which is nice) which took the bulk of the setup time (about 5 minutes) but then once that's done, I name the network and password and then voila!
I have about 25 smart devices in my home, from tablets, computers, game consoles, TVs, Chromecasts, lights, smoke detectors, etc. so I need a router that can handle a lot of devices. Given the number of devices I also run into issues where older devices run off 2.4Ghz bands, while my newer devices can take advantage of the speeds that come with 5 Ghz bands. This can be a pain for a router with multiple bands, as it makes it confusing and requires several networks in your house. The nice thing about thsi router (and maybe yo can do this with others, I don't know) is that there's an option during setup to name the three bands the same. So that way, you have one network when looking at any of your devices. This made it so much easier when I had to go through the arduous process of resetting my network settings for all of my devices.
I'm no router guru, but I pay for 100MBs of internet speed and this router allows me to actually get over that (about 105 MBs) according to Speedtest. Not sure about the accuracy, but I can say that I have yet to run into ANY buffering or lag on any devices. And we are a household where we can be downloading movies on a computer, streaming shows to two different TVs and someone is playing Xbox Live. Honestly, the speeds are worth it.
I don't have a big house so I never really had any issues with coverage, but I did walk down my street and I was able to get my WiFi on my phone (I don't need it, I was just checking) a few houses down. (which also makes me realize how important network security is.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a great router, simple setup and the foot print of the router itself isn't too big, this is a great option.
Last side note, I want to give Linksys props for getting rid of the big power brick plug. There's still a power brick, but at least it has a small AC plug running from it. Anyone who's ever had to manage a surge protector with a lot of devices knows what kind of convenience that is.

I wanted to extensively try out this router before writing this review. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship that Linksys has done. It’s hard for me to give out 5 stars but this deserves it. Continue to read to see why.
Here is the current load of this router.
• Netgear Arlo with 3 security cameras
• 4 Laptops
• 3 Tablets
• 2 Desktops
• 1 Network Printer
• Media server
• WiiU
• 3DS
• VITA
• Playstation 4
• 1 Samsung 4k smart Blu-ray player
• 1 Sony Smart Blu-ray player
• Yamaha Receiver
• 2 4k UHD Smart Samsung TV
• 1 Samsung Smart 3D TV
• 1 Android Phone
• 2 IPhone
As you can see, that all of these devices are putting a load on this router. Approximately 65% of the devices are on always and utilizing the internet by either streaming or downloading. The TV’s are usually using a streaming service, the media server is constantly connected to the internet so I could access my files (personal Cloud). There is no performance drop… NONE! This device priorities the load. I have yet to have a need to reset the router too.
This has replaced the Linksys AC3200 (which I thought was a beast).
Setup:
Simple and quickSetup time took less than 10 minutes, including connecting cables, going through the setup, and updating firmware.
Range:
Awesome. No other word for it. Compared to my previous router, I have yet to see a single drop in signal strength anywhere on my property.
The only thing I have notice which was a bit of an annoyance is that the Linksys app, there is a problem on the android app that I am unable to see my router but on my iphone, it connects without a problem. I know an update will easily fix that so it isn’t too much of an issue.
I am enjoying this router a lot. If you need something that can handle a high demand (like streaming 4k movies and playing online). I can safely recommend this router.
Great job again Linksys, my hat’s off to you.

This router is a beast! I say that not only because of its HUGE size but also because of its excellent coverage and performance. For a router that isn't mesh-based (like Google Wifi or Linksys Velop), the coverage it offers is pretty good and so are the speeds.
I like to test my network speeds outside on my front porch where I spend a lot of my internet time and the Linksys EA9300 didn't disappoint (the router is inside my bedroom, about 30 feet away from the front porch, past 3 walls).
At the same location, the Linksys EA9300 (non-mesh) got 54.94 Mbps down versus Google Wifi's (mesh with 3 access points) 70.47 Mbps. The EA9300 achieved 7.41 Mbps upload and Google Wifi 7.01 Mbps. Both routers allowed me to achieve download speeds higher than what I purchase from Spectrum (50 Mbps down package).
So Google Wifi, through its multiple access points, offers higher speed at the front porch on a speedtest. But why do I prefer the Linksys EA9300? It is more stable. The Google Wifi mesh system, during access point handoffs, will sometimes bring my internet speed to a crawl as I move around the house with my smartphone (Galaxy S7 Edge). It is supposed to seamless and fast but that just hasn't been the case for me. Sometimes, my phone loses Wifi and switches over to LTE which just shouldn't happen. So despite Google's promise of easy handover and switching, I've been frustrated many times because my webpages and videos are being interrupted.
Another win for EA9300 over Google Wifi is the support for external storage. The back of the router has two USB 3 ports where you can plug in your own storage solutions for personal cloud backup. Google Wifi doesn't support external storage. Also, the Linksys smartphone app has more power-user options than the relatively bare options Google offers.
Luckily, my house isn't too big so a single router like the Linksys EA9300 works out just fine and suits my family's needs. With 15 devices connected, the EA9300 handles everyone's streams like a champ without breaking a sweat. And it is stable and predictable, which are very important for me.
With that said, I highly recommend this router. Another great product from Linksys!

Linksys continues its relentless effort to create the perfect home/office routers with this EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router. And, I’m running out of superlatives.
Setup was quick, easy and flawless. I turned it on, plugged into my TWC modem through the EA9300 yellow port. A LAN port connected to my laptop (MAC, yes, just as easy), found the Linksys router’s Wi-Fi signal, and logged into a provided web page. Linksys interrupted the process to download updated software. Five minutes later I was back to that web page and an easy setup following plain english prompts. C’mon folks. It doesn’t get easier than this. Performance was as fast as the advertised TWC service into my home. Devices all over my 2800sqft house found the EA9300 and connected at the maximum available speed. Nice router. No aggravation. If only every tech device I owned was this easy . . .

I have had the router for two days. Setup was completed in under one hour and was facilitated by the lack of no additional firmware update was needed and by re-using my old router's wifi name and password. All my old devices and switches had no problem reconnecting to this new router.
The software for IOS and Android is very easy to use and allows for many adjustments. The wifi is very stable, the coverage is impressive covering all 3 floors of my house and my entire exterior and unattached garage.
The speed improvement is very good but I was coming from an EA9500...what is great is the router's speed of handling all my devices and making sure each device is connected to the most appropriate signal to achieve the best speed for the attached devices.
The smaller footprint from the EA9500 is greatly appreciated, the more powerful processor and the fact that I was able to mount it on a wall to reduce loss of desk space.
The unit is a keeper and handles all of our devices streaming needs with no issues, no drops, nothing.

The setup for the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router was rather simple. Compared to a previous router from Linksys that I own and uses antennas, this one was already pre-assembled, which always simplifies the installation process and was greatly appreciated. I was surprised by the size of it, though, as it is rather large. I have a 15 inch Macbook Pro and it’s just slightly smaller in width. Also, this unit uses an AC adapter that, on one end connects to the router and on the other end to the wall outlet with a two-prong plug. The AC adapter ends up in the middle of the cable which can be cumbersome when deciding where to install it. Also, I was unsuccessful in trying to install this product using just my phone, which other Linksys routers allowed me to do so with ease. It kept failing to do an update on the router that way but after I connected it straight to a computer, I had no problems.
One of the features of this router is the ability set time limits for usage. Using the free Linksys app, you can easily identify what devices are on the network, rename them so that you know which device you are working with, and set internet time limits. This is perfect for a family who has a gamer/social media enthusiast in their lives that needs restrictions on their devices. I was able to find and rename my gaming PC and I named it “Gaming Rig,” on the network. Then, I set myself a timer so that the internet to that device cut off at 10:00 PM. I had forgotten about the timer, but while I was surfing the net, I was cut off at the appropriate time and it worked as intended.
The performance of this router was great. It provided me lightning speed over WiFi, fast enough to stream 4K content. I did a test on my wireless devices to see the speed it clocked. My internet provider told me that I was paying for 100 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up. To stream 4K, according to an article from Netflix, you need a minimum of 25 megabits per second or higher. Over WiFi, I was clocking 117.09 Mbps download and 11.71 Mbps upload. That’s impressive.
This router meets my expectations, performance wise. However, that AC adapter being in the middle of the cable does limit how I want the cable to run to hide it. Though it doesn’t affect the performance of the router, it’s a bit of an eye-sore and thought I should mention it to those who enjoy aesthetically pleasing environments.
The price for the router, in terms of value, is reasonable compared to the other routers in the market making similar claims. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, I trust Linksys with my download and upload needs. I upstream content weekly and download content daily and I’ve yet to see any performance degradation on their hardware.
I highly recommend this product for people who need fast WiFi in their homes with highly customizable, yet accessible features. After purchasing this product, the next thing you want to do is install the Linksys app (free) that allows you to customize your router settings. From time-limits on devices to parental locks, they seem to have thought of it all. This product earns 4 stars because of the failed phone installation attempts and the AC adapter making it cumbersome to choose an installation location. If those two things don’t bother you, you will enjoy a tremendous router that can handle anything you throw at it. Just remember that you can only get speeds as fast as your internet plan provides.

Quick simple setup and all the power and bandwidth you need for a household full of gadgets. With a preset WiFi network on the router, you can configure the LINKSYS EA9300 MAX-STREAM AC4000 TRI-BAND WI-FI ROUTER with a smart phone, tablet or PC. The App’s user interface is simple and informative with basic features only a click away while the web browser allows for more complex configurations, such as DMZ, port forwarding and VLAN configurations. This router is physically heavier than other home routers, not a bad thing, but noticeable when setting it up. The range is also amazing as it sits on the first floor and have minimal lost between the basement and second floor. I have also mowed my acre of a yard around the house streaming music without any interruption.
I personally had an odd issue where I enabled parental controls and blocked a device listed as “network device” though later found out it was my Xbox One. Once it was identified, I disabled the parental controls but the Xbox was still blocked from the network. I manually reset the router and everything is now working as intended.
Regardless of that minor issue, everything has worked perfectly, to include fast resets after making configuration settings. With over 14 devices on my network, the only thing slowing me down is the speed of my internet service provider.

Routers these days are really starting to look like bugs and this one especially. The 6 antenna are a sign that this router means business and boy does it deliver. Network speeds were blazing fast and I noticed almost zero lag. The only slow down I noticed was when I was streaming Netflix, Hulu, and amazon all to three separate wireless devices and two additional streams of Netflix and Hulu to two wired smart TVs. Way more than nearly anyone out there besides a frat house would be using, so the normal user may not ever get to experience lag with this router. There are 4 additional Ethernet ports on the back along with two USB 3.0 ports. Coverage area is really good in my two story, 2400 sq foot home. Setting up the router using the Linksys app was simple and strait forward and it has nearly every feature that you would need, maybe not as advanced as a browser interface would be, but pretty good non the less. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this purchase.

Why you need this Router
The speed of your connection is not the only thing that affects your internet speed. Your final connection speed will only be as fast as the slowest device in the path between the remote computer and yours. A fast router and wifi help maximize the speed of the connection to your computer or device.
The Linksys Max-Stream AC4000 MU-MIMO Tri-Band Router has Wave2 AC Wi-Fi technologies such as Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) and Tri-Band 2x 1625 Gbps (5GHz) + 750 Mbps (2.4GHz) that can support Wi-Fi to multiple connected devices including TVs, gaming consoles, wireless printers, laptops plus others at combined speeds up to 4 Gbps. MU-MIMO and “Airtime Fairness” work to gether to allow multiple devices to be connected at the same time and maximum speed. The Linksys Max-Stream AC4000 can be set up quickly without the Linksys app to get a home office up and running quickly. The Linksys app that provides added control of the EA9300 Wi-Fi Router from anywhere at any time using a mobile device and allows access to extended functions. I recommend this router to Home users with a lot of high bandwidth users think 4k streaming and high resolution gamers, home servers or small businesses who want to set up a high performance wireless network. This router has parental controls and USB 3 ports to support storage devices. You can set device priority to for instance let your streaming TV take precedent over you kids gaming! There are lower priced options for those with less demanding setups. For me this is the best router yet, very stable and able to support all my devices at full speed. Linksys has a winner folks!!

Absolutely garbage. The first one would arbitrarily quit broadcasting WiFi, right after I couldn’t return it to the store. Called linksys. Had to pay for their troubleshooting, but they replaced the unit. You’ll never guess what happened to the replacement. Exact same issue. This is the most expensive piece of garbage that I’ve ever purchased. Stay away.

Our home has enough networking, wired/wireless to light up a small village, Yet! I found room to add this excellent EA9300 box to our system.
Love the design of the EA9300, same great look as the EA9500 in a smaller footprint, that I like.
It is a powerful package sporting a New 1.8 GHz Quad-Core CPU, it is smoking hot at processing data, especially in a home with Heavy Network users. This router is built for Very Large Homes, we have exceptional coverage throughout every corner of our house.
The EA9300 is packed with Leading Edge Technology, there is not a feature I cannot think of that Linksys has not poured into this great looking package.
This router is sitting elegantly to the corner of our large screen TV in the Living-room handling our Entertainment Center Networking and providing heart pounding Wireless to the family in the room.
Need speed, range in a good-looking package then check this newest addition to the Linksys family of routers, it is a winner!

The Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router is a Top-Of-The-Line Performer!
CHALLENGE: 5,000 Sq feet home, over 3 floors. Highest Wireless speed requirements are on the extreme opposite ends of the house on the main floor.
CHALLENGE 2: WIRELESS CONNECTED DEVICES: 95, including 13) connected BAS Fans & lights, 2) HUE hubs (they are limited to 50 devices / hub), Wink Hub, 4) Nest Cams & 5) Arlo Pro cams, 2) Honeywell connected T-Stats, 18) Airplay speakers, 12) iDevices & many more streaming WiFi devices.
TEST RESULTS: This EA9300 produces Wireless Speeds at the limit of my Cable Service Provider (300 mB/sec) within 30 feet of the router with my iPad Pro! This is by far the fastest speed I have tested to date on any router to a wireless device. Moving another 20 feet away and the speed reduces the speed by approximately 10%. The router delivers very good speed at the extreme end of the house, through several walls & rooms, falling off an additional 25%. This is a blazing speed, considering the distance & the rooms between.
OBSERVATIONS: The improvement in speed of this EA9300, primarily due to the 2) 5Ghz bands + 1) 2.4Ghz band & MU-MIMO design, compared with competitive MU-MIMO routers from every brand I could find, is stunning. All devices work with NO Drop-Outs! This Trip-Band Router is a keeper!
FINAL SET-UP: In the end, I kept 2) of my old Dual Band Routers & switched them to Bridge Mode, one at the opposite end of this Router & one in the basement. This is not necessary, but since I already own them, why not? I already had Ethernet run there via Cat 6 cable, so it was a simple plug-in connection. Results? 290 - 300Gb/Sec virtually everywhere, with NO devices dropping out even once.
CONCLUSION: I give the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band WI-FI Router my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

This is a super easy router to get setup and running in your house. My WiFi coverage has more than doubled with this. My WiFi speeds for our iphones is 6 times faster than before. Right now we are getting 175 Mbps up from 25 Mbps. If you are wanting a faster WiFi signal and stronger signal this router will do the job.

Router technology is hard to assess with all the buzz words; bands, speeds, port configurations, cpu cores??? I went into the store trying to get a objective answer but quickly learned its hard for anyone to provide a measured response. So after spending 30 minutes looking over the various routers. I replaced my AC1750 (Linksys 6500) with an AC4000 (Linksys 9300) hoping for a noticable difference. Well that is what I got. The 9300 is a lot faster than the 6500 and you will not be disappointed. It connects everything faster and screen refresh is very fast on all my devices. I have 21 devices running off this router that include cameras, receivers, blu-ray players, smart TV's, extenders, Roku Hubs, PCs, Nest technology, even my Overhead garage door openers is wifi connected.
I'm very satisfied with performance, ease of use, easy set up, and compatibility with all my devices. Nice job Linksys on this one!

This was the easiest wifi router setup I have ever had. I love the linksys app that allows me to control and set features right from my phone. No need to get on a computer connected to the router. AND THE SPEED!! I tested the router by streaming a 4K movie in one room, YouTube through PS4 in the bedroom. Amazon video UHD movie through through FirestickTV in another bedroom all while downloading large files on a laptop and watching web videos on my phone and there was NO LAG, NO BUFFERING, NO HESITATION AT ALL. Everything playing in clean real-time. This is a work horse of a router.
