I've been using this router for a little more than a month, and I'm quite impressed. Out of the box, I had it up and running in about 10-15 minutes. It does have a larger footprint than my old router, but I have plenty of room where it will sit. However, if space is an issue, it can be mounted on the wall. I had 6 devices connected to it in minutes, some to the 2.4Ghz channel and some to the 5Ghz, and all streaming some form of media; there was no latency or lag on any of the devices. I also noticed a significant boost in speed using either channel over my old wireless-N router. With my old router, I was maxing out around 20-30Mps. With this router's 5Ghz channel I consistently get 120Mps+, and around 50-70Mps+ on the 2.4Ghz channel. The signal strength is also much stronger than my previous router. I don't have any numeric data, but my laptop that's in the far corner of my house from the router used to show 3-4 bars for the old router while this router always shows as 5 bars. The signal outside my house is also considerably stronger, and up to about 40 ft there's little if any speed reduction on either channel. One of the things I like most about this router is the interface for remote access. When you first set up the router, you also set up an online account that allows you to remotely access settings, etc, from anywhere, including via the downloadable app. You have access to the usual settings you'd expect, wireless configuration, security settings, etc, but there are also other handy features. There's a network map that allows you to easily see connected devices, settings for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz guest networks, parental controls for each device, media prioritization for each device, and the ability to set up external storage using a USB HD. I probably won't use all of the features, but it's nice to know they're there in case they're ever needed. For the most part, I've had very little trouble with this router. However, during the first few weeks, I did have some issues; some devices would drop connection while other would be fine, and I sometimes would have to reboot the router to get those devices reconnected. During the same period, I would also occasionally have trouble connecting to the router's admin interface; I got a message saying the router wasn't online even though I was connected with several devices. There was an automatic firmware update that seemed to fix these problems, and since that time, I've had absolutely no issues with the router. Overall, I think this is a very capable, stable, and feature rich router. If your current router, like mine was, is a bit older than you'd like, or if you're pushing it to the edge of it's limits, I think this router is worth a look.

Great speeds and easy setup make this a great router. It didn't take much time to replace my previous router with this one. I did run into one issue. The setup card had the wrong Wi-Fi name, I could see the actual name, but the password listed wasn't correct since it was for a different name. This wasn't really a problem though, since I just plugged it in wired and followed the same instructions. It's working great now. Speeds and range is great. My only complaint would be that I wish it had more wired ports, but with the speeds it provides on wireless make up for it. Of course, being open-source is a great plus. You never know what others may come up with. Pros: Easy setup, fast speeds, good range, open source Cons: Only 4 wired ports

    Fast setup...superior whole house coverage

Super fast setup and useable right out of the box with pre-set broadcast IDs for both 2.4 and 5Ghz. There is a slew of settings available either by visiting linksyssmartwifi.com or the routers IP of 192.168.1.1. Some additional pluses are you can forgo the Linksys admin interface and go for the Linux-based open source firmware like OpenWRT or DD-WRT, which open up more options and secure feature sets. I opted to just use the plain old linksys firmware. In my house setting of about 3,500 sqft with the proper placement of the router, you should be able to deliver more than enough bandwidth to each connected devices. Wireless coverage is remarkable and extensive. I had coverage all over my house and extending into outdoor areas without needing any of my prior extenders and powerline devices. I never got any lost or dropped connections and always rock steady. My wireless devices displayed 3+ bars even into my unattached garages. Some technical stuff: The Tri-Stream 160 technology delivers extreme Wi-Fi speed that seems never to lags. One of my 4TB External hard drive connected via the USB 3.0 port delivered a write speed of about 90Mbps and read speed of 118Mbps. And so in closing, this is a beast of a router in what it can deliver for simultaneous demand - especially in relation to speed on the 5Ghz spectrum, and in reach for the 2.4Ghz band. Another big plus is ease of setup, screw on the 4 antennas and plug it in and your basically are ready to go with customizations to come as you go along. This was a pleasure to setup.

The Linksys WRT AC3200 is extremely easy to set up. It comes with an Ethernet cord and a preset Wi-Fi network so that you can set up the router straight out of the box with any device you have. The paper directions are very limited, but enough to get you connected and once connected the direction on the device are easy to follow. It does come with a CD with PDF directions, but those are very brief as well. The default login screen for the router leads you to believe you must have a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account, however, there is one line below the login that says “For local access, click here.” The Smart Wi-Fi account does however allow you to access your router from anywhere once you have the account associated with your router. Of the routers I have used, the layout of the dashboard for this one is one of the simplest yet effective ones I have seen. It is customizable so that you can change what you want to see, or not see, at a glance. Such in my case, I do not use the Guest Access, so therefore I do not need to see it. I also like how it summarizes the online devices, showing that I have a certain number of Local devices and how many of each are using which band of the Wi-Fi. If you click on the number you can see a network map, in which you can modify each device, such as name, parental controls, and reserve the DHCP address. From here you can also see the current internet usage of these devices so that you can see who is hogging your bandwidth. While speaking of Parental controls, the controls on here are straight forward and simple. You can block all access, during specific times, or specific sites. However, in order to set sites and times you must use a PC or tablet, the phone app only allows a manual all block or allows you to remove devices from the controls. Also, the specific times are in 30 minute blocks through a block chart. It is simple, just not as specific as setting the time per minute yourself. However, it lets me ensure that my children are not trying to watch videos or something during bedtime hours. As far as speed, I have not had any issues with it. It has been completely comparable to another brand AC3200 router and I don’t have equipment really capable of pushing the device to its limits to find out. However, I have noticed when logged into the device that it responds quicker than other models and that may be due to the faster processor. The Speed Test under Smart Wi-Fi tools seems to be inconsistent with its results. It uses Ookla, just as the popular speed test website, however, it randomly selects a server that is not nearby and tends to show numbers about half that of the test ran from my computer. Along the subject of speed, this router has a prioritization mode that I first tested while configuring through the phone app. There it allows you to add and remove devices to the priority list, however, it reduced my speed to 21Mbps. At first I figured this is a horrible priority, as nothing else was running at the time. However, come to find out, there are additional setting that can only be viewed when configuring from a PC or web browser. In the settings of Media Prioritization it allows you to set the Downstream Bandwidth and this is essentially what you are giving the priority device to use while everything else just uses whatever it left over. The Linksys WRT AC3200 router has a USB 3.0 and an eSATA connection that can also be used as a USB 2.0 port. I haven’t used this feature as I have network storage, however, the settings in the router allow you to limit folder access, provide an FTP server or act as a media server. With a simple external hard drive you can easily add network attached storage. Out of the box this router has loads of features to include advanced features for some of the most unique networks. From configuring ports and vlans to functioning as an OpenVPN Server. However, the thing about the WRT series is having open source choices like DD-WRT and OpenWRT which allow tons more advanced features. Certainly a great router for someone that wants to simply get a home network up, maybe run a small business or just want to have extra control with open source capability.

An open source router gives you the flexibility to use open source software from DD-WRT or OpenWRT to update the firmware that can be customized to your needs that range from setting up vpn, web server, manage hotspots, analyze network traffic, detect intrusion and so on Setup - If you like a step by step setup process this router is awesome. However for power users you cannot skip to the advanced configuration without going through the basic setup. Also if you do stop in the middle you need to do a hard reset to get it back to initial setup. A skip to manual confihuration would have been nice. Coverage - I found the coverage to be really good in a 1500 square feet house with 3 rooms. The signal stregth for both 2.4 and 5 GHz network was very stable and none of the 15-20 devices in the house had any issues. Speed - This router has a very fast processor on board and is rated to handle up to 3.2 Gbps of data. It supports a/b/g/n networks and is backward compatible with older devices. All the ports are gigabit ports and it also has 2 usb ports. Media Server - In todays worls we record a lot of videos and save them to a hard drive. The best way to backup and use the data is to connect the drive to a network server and then streaming it wirelessly to all DLNA devices. This router worked perfectly to stream videos to Fire tv and never had an issue. Software - Since this router supports open source software it will be very interesting to see what firmwares come out from DDWRT and OpenWRT in the future to customize it to your needs. The included software is good as is and one of the best feature is to see the dashboard and see how much data is being used on the internet connection. All in all this router is an excellent network device that offers more for the increasing demands of todays devices and support digital lifestlye.

In a world where technology seems to get smaller and smaller, the Linksys WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi router goes Beast Mode on the competition! I found it to be a bit larger than the traditional Linksys wireless routers of old, but still functional for the shelf where I use it. The 4 antennas allow for a complete home signal - our home is approximately 2000 sq ft and 2 floors. No problems or blind spots anywhere. Provides both 5 Ghz and 2.4 GHz bands for older and newer wireless equipment but maintains blazing speeds on both. I was pleasantly surprised by the immediate power and throughput of this router. There is a noticeable difference in streaming and gaming quality experiences. This unit is replacing my N-technology 750 level router, which I thought was doing a great job. After putting the AC3200 through the ringer, with 2 Netflix streams, Xbox One online gaming, and 2 cell phones streaming music, there was never a glitch in performance... as was the case on my old router. My speedtest resulted in 98.97 mbps download and 24.xx mbps upload - all while multiple devices were accessing it. Awesome! This is a MUST HAVE wireless router for any serious gamer or those families who are always connected! Get the Beast and get an amazing experience!!

Out of the box this router is very easy to setup, both physically and electronically. It comes in a classic blue and black design with four antennas that are easily screwed onto the base. The router has many heat dissipating holes so I doubt this thing will ever too hot, even during the summer. After saying all this the one design element that needs to be addressed is the size. It isn't a small device and the fact it sits flat makes it a hog of what little space people normal have although this did not present an issue when we installed it but something to note. The overall design is very futuristic and shouldn't easily become outdated. The range of this device seem to be better than other AC routers I have used in the past with good speeds across the house and even outside in my yard. However the speeds aren't much better if at all better than our 2 year old AC router granted we are not putting this one to its full potential. Under normal use it will be hard to distinguish a hands down difference between this and many other although the consistency may be much better due to this routers simultaneous dual band setup. The actual setup of this device was easy with no really problems however a couple bugs did become present right away with the fixed IP addresses being a problem that later corrected itself and allowed proper use. The online setup program has a simple design with many great features like Parental Controls, Media Prioritization, External Storage, and an easy-to-use Connectivity options menu for things such as creating a Static IP address, setting up Static DNS's, and creating IP forwarding rules. All these features are great however the most simple things are buggy on this router, like one of our 5GHz smartphones showing up twice, one as a wireless device and again as a LAN device. It surely isn't a LAN so why it is showing up? Also while using some of the instant data usage features like to showing all devices one minute and none the next even though nothing has changed. Little things like this keep the hardware from shining even though is is most likely a software issue. Overall this is a very quality router with many amazing features that many wouldn't even touch but the capability is there for anyone who wants to use them. With the software bugs however I have to give this a 4 out of 5 star rating. Would 100% recommend despite these issues.

      Hi, Justin,

It's good to hear that you find the setup page easy to use. With regard to properly sorting the connected devices in the Network Map, you can use the Clean Network Map tool (or the Broom icon) to reboot the router and refresh the list. It's best if you can email us at [email protected] with your phone number and the link to this post so that our Escalation Engineers can look closely into this.

I have come to trust the LinkSys brand to the point where it is my goto brand when needing a new router or recommending one. Setting up the Router was easy. It is practically plug and play. Inside the box you will find several discs which I didn't need to insert to install the router. Immediately, my computer recognized the signal being broadcast (which comes preprogrammed from LinkSys) and I input the password that came inside a small foldout card. The router was recognized and I had signal. Reading the same foldout card and following 4 simple steps, I went to the LinkSys website which allowed the router to update automatically and permitted me to change the name of the signal and assign it a password I can remember. Set up took under 5 minutes, including updating the router and renaming it. Before setup is over, you will be asked to create a Smart LinkSys account. It's an optional step, but I highly recommend it, as it allows you to monitor your network away from home, set up Guest Passwords, and even create your own Cloud Drives with USB external hard drives. I was able to set up the my personal cloud as a test, though I don't plan on using the feature myself, it does work and it's just as fast as anything you would pay monthly for. My home is a two story home and my router is set up in the second floor, where I do most of my gaming/work. I always have trouble getting WiFi in the kitchen, which is downstairs. This router permitted me to have a good signal in my kitchen and I am satisfied. It is nice that you can choose which band you want to use for what devices. For example, I use my gaming consoles on the 5 Ghz network while my families phones and tablets are on the 2.4 Ghz. Overall, this is a great router to have as an an upgrade.

    Great router for multiple devices

This router is perfect for a user that has multiple devices on their network, and shines if the user desires to customize their network. It was quick and easy to assemble the router out of the box by screwing on the 4 small antennae. I connected it to my cable modem with the ethernet cable that was included, and was quickly able to login into the wireless network and setup the router through my browser. Once that was completed, I started moving my devices over to the new wireless network. The router seems to have a very strong signal, as my devices had strong wi-fi signal at various parts of my house and even yard. The new multi-user MIMO technology in the router worked very well as I was able to stream movies to multiple devices at the same time with no hiccups. There is a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app that you can use to view your network, which is handy because you can setup guest access as needed, and basically manage the wireless network. I have not needed to customize my network because I don't find it to be necessary in my situation, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the router can be customized and optimized with several open source programs from the onset. The casual user may never want to dig that much into their network, but that is fine because it isn't required to appreciate this device. This technology should provide some future-proofing, but you will want a nice modem and strong internet signal from your provider to really take advantage of all that this device can offer.

The missing Link to fast WiFi

I have fast internet, a nice new laptop, and somehow my download speeds are ...slow. I like to blame my internet provider because what else could it be right? Well, I don't pretend to be a tech genius so I asked around and someone suggested it might be my router. Because what I didn't take into account is that I also have my Playstation4, Xbox one, Smart Tv, and cell phone connected and they're fighting for bandwith on the network. Makes sense, why didn't I think of that? So after looking at several models online, I decided on the Linksys Mu-Mimo cause it sounds funny, but also boasts the fastest 5 Ghz band of any router! Anway, I got it home and right off the thing looks impressive. Four prongs of power baby. Moving on, setup was easy but not at first. There's three easy steps and I goofed step two by connecting my laptop to the router with ethernet cord versus wireless, so don't do that. I reset the router using the handy reset button, and setup was flawless the second try. At this point, you can setup an online account that let's you control your router settings from anywhere via your phone. Nice! But now for the real test, is my Wifi fast? Yes! Web pages load in milliseconds versus three seconds. Downloading digital games takes less time, and Netflix is much smoother on my Smart tv. This thing is a beast with it's dual bandwiths. I use one for gaming, the other for surfing. I finally found the missing link to fast Wifi!

I hooked up my new Linksys WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router 2 days ago. It is just a Beast of a router in terms of speed and great looks as well! I use an iMac Retina as my main device and set-up was smooth and very quick. I did have to manually make a couple of changes with my wireless printer in the way of settings but only took an extra few minutes and was No Biggy! With several devices connected there is a big noticeable difference in performance and speed of any tasks. Even when using with only my iMac, I obviously didn't increase my speed I pay for from ATT, But with this Linksys attached inline, I have serious improvements in performance and speed of all tasks now including streaming video! I love it and would recommend to everybody! Thank you Linksys!

Having owned the previous WRT 1900AC router, the updated WRT model presents the same open sourced software offerings and styling with the extra 3200AC punch that makes it great for a IoT home like my own with tons of Wifi devices and hubs. Running the standard firmware, I was able to get the router up and running in less than 5 minutes. This new model also introduces MU-MIMO which allows the router to connect to multiple devices at once. This is great for 4K streaming and gaming where a constant connection is a priority. I found it great for streaming to my Xbox One S with no stalls or pauses in streaming. Of course, the star here is WRT, a custom Linux firmware that lets users really push this router to the max if they want to. While the DD-WRT firmware wasn't available at the time of the review, I look forward to testing it. I wish the styling was more subtle, the blue sticks out quite a bit mounted on the wall. It's an otherwise gorgeous looking piece of hardware and it oozes quality, but the blue is too much for me. Overall, solid update to an already great router to bring it on par with other competing routers with the great bonus of the open source firmware.

I have been a little skeptical about upgrading my old Arris modem/router combination with a Wi-Fi extender because I was unsure how much of a difference it would make. We have a one story 2100 sq ft house with the router at one end of the house therefore it would be hit and miss whether we would get reception in the back rooms. After I installed the Linksys AC3200, all of those issues were gone and we now receive continuous reception with little to no interruptions. It took about 10 minutes to set up and create our user name/password which was easier than any other router I have ever owned. This router does more than I could ever ask for and allows me to stream and game with no problems using our tablets, phones, Xbox One and PS4 simultaneously. It doubles the bandwidth compared to my last route which I imagine is where the extended range comes from in non-tech saavy terms. And, maybe it's just me, but it seems that my internet responsiveness is much better than it was before but I've only been using it for a week. In any case, I'm pleased with the results and would recommend the router to anyone in the market for one, it's worth paying the extra money in my opinion.

Setup was pretty easy. Once I got a computer connected via wired, the setup wizard got me mostly setup in a secure way. From there, the admin interface worked great and I was able to get is setup just like the router it replaced. It even has a function to auto-check for firmware updates, which is nice. I had two main reasons for the new router - better speed and better range and this router has delivered on both. I replaced a Linksys E4200 the increase in performance and bandwidth was night and day. The range is also much better. Now I get a strong 5GHz signal in the farthest room from the router (25+ feet through 3 bedrooms and a laundry room), which the old router couldn't do. Overall, I am very happy.

If you're reading this you are likely already familiar with routers for your home and have an idea what you're looking for as far as features are concerned. Even if you're looking for a first router and not sure what to look for regarding features, the main things we all have an interest in are speed and coverage. Instead of going into details about all the features in this unit, I'll keep this short and sweet. Of all the routers I've used, the Linksys AC3200 consistently provides the strongest signal over the largest area of my house and surrounding areas of all the other routers, hands down. Setup out of the box was straight. The only hitch in the initial setup was the Linksys Smart Wifi account creation [optional]; a router restart fixed the issue I was seeing of incorrectly drawn webpages. The router has a built-in speedtest using the OOKLA site, great idea. YMMV, of course, depending upon your own environment but, given that I have some difficult areas in my home and surroundings that the Linksys handled easily compared to other routers I own/have tried out, I can recommend this wth no reservations whatsoever.

Do not purchase this router. There is something wrong with the firmware that Linksys has acknowledged, but has not fixed since the last firmware was released on 10/25/16. I tried everything I could to get this router to work, but it does not ever allow speeds of over 1 mbps download, and get this I get 0.01 mbps upload. I use the router that came with my Verizon FIOS and I get 350 mbps download, and 340 mbps upload on wifi. Its interesting because I am only paying for 300 mbps.

This router is a very good choice for an average size home. Nice selection of features and modern radio setup make this device a great deal! Enclosure is quality made and does have key holes on the bottom suitable for wall mounting, bottom feet provide adequate cooling air flow. LEDs on the front panel are easy to read and give you a good idea on the device status. There is also an option to disable activity lights so they won't bother you at night (I wish Linksys made this available for a specific time period). Port selection consists of 1 WAN port, 4 LAN ports, 1 combo USB/eSata port and a USB 3.0 port which could be used to connect an external hard drive or a USB enabled printer. 3G/4G backup modem is not supported by the factory firmware, however - that could be fixed, keep reading :) Initial setup is extremely easy, connect to the modem using the included Ethernet cable and to the power. Initial setup wizard will guide you thru a few screens and that's it! Router can be setup to function in multiple modes: as a regular "main" router, as a repeater to boost your existing WiFi network or as a bridge to connect to the existing WiFi and create a separate WiFi of it's own. Plus an access point (bridge) mode - router will turn into the "dumb" repeater - just adding a WiFi capability to your existing wired network. The primary use case will be as a "main" router of course. If you set it up like that - you have a wide variety of choices for your provider connection - regular DHCP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP and fixed IP address, it has an ability to change it's ISP facing MAC address if your provider requires that. Once you get your devices to connect to this router - you'll be able to see the network "map" - a detailed look at your network showing all the connected devices, click on any device will give you an ability to look at the details, make a DHCP reservation, or setup a parental controls. Nice touch is the ability to see the traffic used by each client separately. Router also does support VLANs, just in case your provider uses different (tagged) VLANs for Internet and IP TV, ports 3 and 4 of the internal switch could be assigned for the special VLAN in that case. Router is capable of supporting 2 bands - 2.4GHz and 5GHz, you can name them the same or give different names if you like to do so, then point your fast devices to the 5GHz network and slow ones to 2.4GHz. Some more expensive tri-band routers will provide you with a seconds 5GHz network so you could set it up as 802.11ac only for extremely fast WiFi for the fast devices (laptops, for example). This router could only do 2 bands though. This router is also capable of creating a special isolated "guest" network which is not going to be encrypted, your guests will be presented with a web page to enter "guest" password (kinda like at the hotels, airports, also known as a "captive" mode). Radio signal strength is sufficient and I was getting the full speed at the distances around 50ft between the router and device, however at about 75ft and a few walls - speed has dropped from 200Mbit/s down to about 10Mbit/s. Consider a repeater or additional access point if you wish to cover a big home. Parental controls - any device on your network could be limited by the access schedule (so you can make sure your kids don't spend more time online than they allowed to), plus you could setup a list of sites that are not allowed to be accessed from those devices. That web site list has to be setup one by one. Media prioritization - if you have a slow internet access (and starting that download makes your Netflix buffer) - you can give some services a "priority" (little bit more bandwidth) which may be helpful. Router comes with a wide variety of pre-defined services/games or you could define your own range of ports. Security features - this router has a standard packet - DMZ support, port forwarding, port triggering, UPnP support. I would like to mention that your typical home network is always behind the NAT so it's not accessible from the outside Internet unless you setup port forwarding so you don't have to worry about outside attacks. Looking thru the settings on the security panel made me look into the help, for example I would not have guessed that "Filter anonymous Internet requests" flag really makes this router to ignore incoming ping requests, I wish Linksys named it more self-explanatory (like "Ignore incoming Ping requests"). Troubleshooting and logging - router's management interface gives you an ability to send ping probes, use traceroute, backup and restore it's configuration and also e-mail your configuration to Linksys support just in case you are having problems. OpenVPN server - this is really a great feature which would allow you to setup a secure way to your home network for something like viewing your IP cameras, accessing files on the local hard drive, etc. Client is widely available for any platform. However, the best part still to come, being a WRT router - you could install a custom Open Source firmware on it named OpenWRT or DD-WRT. I was able to install OpenWRT absolutely no problem and that opens up a whole new world of possibilities, your router becomes a mini computer you could run almost anything on! Create your own firewall setup, file server, various application servers, about 3000 packages are available! Overall: if you are looking for a great hardware to run OpenWRT or DD-WRT on - this router is for you! It provides plenty of RAM and horsepower, strong WiFi radio and it looks great!

I received this product in exchange for a review. Out of the box, this is a pretty visually impressive router. It is solidly built, with distinct lines and edge, as well as the black and blue color scheme from the old WRT line of routers. It comes with 4 antennas, a power adapter and an ethernet cable. On the back, there are 5 Ethernet ports (1 for the incoming Internet connection and 4 for other devices), a USB 3.0 port and a USB 1.0/eSATA port. There is also a power toggle switch, a physical reset button and a WPS button for pairing with WPS-capable devices. The stock router administration software provided by Linksys is pretty good for most users. They want you to hook your router into their cloud service, Linksys Smart Wifi, so that you can remotely administer your router. Linksys publishes a mobile application, too, so you can easily control your home network from your phone. Some features provided by the software include a network map, a view of all connected devices, guest access control to administer and share a guest wireless network isolated from the rest of your network, parental controls and device prioritization. The administration page also has pages to adjust various settings and troubleshoot any connection issues. There is even a page to configure OpenVPN access. Additionally, there is a feature for accessing external storage plugged directly into the router. You can enable several different methods of access to the external storage. I tested out the folder access by plugging in an external hard drive to one of the USB ports of the router and turning on secure folder access. From the administration page, you can set up authorized users that can access the storage with a username and password. I was able to connect to the shared storage via a Mac and read and write data. I was able to copy an approximately 4 GB directory via Wifi from a separate floor of my house in under 10 minutes while also browsing the web. It’s a handy way to utilize this router for network attached storage. You can also setup an FTP server to access files from the Internet and a media server to share files with compatible devices, like smart TVs. One of the cool things about this router is that Linksys makes it easy to use an open source router firmware such as those provided by OpenWrt and DD-WRT. This enables more fine-grained control of the hardware and software to customize your network more than Linksys allows out of the box. I opted to remain with the stock firmware for now, but it’s nice to know I have additional options. Overall, this is a very good router. It fully covers my home, which isn’t the largest by any means, but I have nearly full signal strength a floor above and below. The only thing I would improve on this router would be to offer more Ethernet ports, but 4 will be sufficient for most users. The administration software and file server functionality are very impressive. I would recommend this router to someone looking for a strong, customizable router for their home.

I've worked with several wi-fi routers in several environments (home, SoHo, small office. Some have been woeful, others adequate. This one is impressive. It was super-easy to set-up, but has very sophisticated options and tweaks you can make if you need/want to protect yourself more or improve performance. Out-of-the-box performance is impressive. I've struggled with my prior devices to get any reception on my patio. The Linksys is fast and provides excellent coverage. The multiple, movable antennae can help you focus to favorite spots. Linkysys also now provides a web and iphone app (Linksys Smart Wi-Fi) that allows you to check and modify status, check for firmware updates, and see the connected devices, among other conveniences.

I'm not a very technical person and enjoy things that just work well---this is one of those things. You plug it in, follow the instructions, and everything works smoothly and lightning fast. The app that Linksys is starting to use with their newer line of products works great for me. Accessing the router on your computer shows a nice interface that's easy to understand, with many settings you can adjust. Please don't confuse this with Linksys's old model labeled the WRT AC3200. This is in fact their brand new WRT 3200ACM with Tri-Stream 160, which is next generation technology that makes your wi-fi experience faster overall. You can't go wrong with this product.
