It does require a PC, a connection to the internet and some patience with all the model #'s of your equipment. It's not hard to setup and supports everything I threw at it but it did have a small issue with my Insignia TV, go figure Best Buy! :)

Was easy to setup and customize. Quite often, but less than half the time the remote won't perform all tasks for a function. Hitting the Watch TV button I have set to turn on TV, cable box, set TV input to cable. Not all those steps will happen, TV might not turn on, or cable box won't. I just have to hit the help button and everything fixes itself.
It does make life easier, and may get another next time it's on sale.
The ability to recharge the battery is a huge plus.

I had the older 600 and this one was actually on sale for less than that for a period of time. So I actually bought 2 for my parents who have about 8 remotes for 2 TV/Entertainment centers and another one for myself. They were skeptics. I got a message from them a couple of weeks later - "We LOVE our new remotes". I was expecting something more along the lines of "We put it away because we couldn't get it to work." So it passed the skeptical, techno-challenged parent test!
This device is great because it holds so many devices and actions. It is so easy to program and it really does allow you to put the other remotes in the drawer.

This is my first universal remote. I have two home theater setups in my house with TiVo, appleTV, and blu-ray players. They all work pretty well. Sometimes it will miss, but help button takes care of that. Great product!

I bought this remote to get rid of the remote clutter we were experiencing. Cable remote, blue-ray remote, sound system remote, Amazon Fire and Chromcast. Remote is easy to setup since you do it online. No codes to punch into the remote like other remotes I have had. I can easily switch from TV, Blu-Ray, Amazon Fire and Chromecast. Switches the HDMI ports on the sound system which is the master unit for all of my devices. Remote is rechargeable which is nice. I liked this remote so much I gave it as gifts to my extended family.

The Harmony 700 remote meets my needs. Programming off of their site was easy and you can just hook it up again if you need to change things. The lighted screen and buttons even come on the second you move the remote and go back off after you set it down. No worries, micro usb charing on tap! Only glitch I noticed was every now and them I got multi inputs but may just need to set the speed of send back to default, I sped it up a little. Buy it and kick back as you control all your devices from the one slick remote.

This is my second Logitech remote and I'm just as happy with this one. The functionality is right in line with the old one. I'm able to control my TV, DirecTV, BluRay and an old HP Dreamscreen without any issues. I can turn on the XBox One, but it does not work to control the XBox One. I really like the rechargeable batteries, but I would like some meter to show me when they need to be recharged. So far when the batteries run out the remote just stops working, which is annoying. So far that is my only complaint. The remote works great, is easy to program and makes it easy to switch through the different modes.

I'm surprised at the ease of setup and how well it works with my complicated AV system. A lot of thought and work went into making this as thorough as it is. My only complaint is that powering everything on / off is a little slower than I would expect. Not bad all things considered.

Picked this up to replace the 3 remotes necessary to operate my system - Samsung TV, DirecTV and a Yamaha Soundbar. Set-up was super easy. Nice you can customize the buttons and the screen. Takes a little time to retrain your brain to use just one remote to operate everything. Once you get going it's great. Only downside for me was the rechargeable batteries died out after a few weeks. Took it back and Best Buy replaced the remote with a brand new one. One week in with the replacement and so far so good...

Had this remote for about 1 month now. So far I have been happy with it, especially for the sale price of $49. The set up does take a little time (you have to get all the model numbers from everything), but once you walk thru the steps, it connects everything. So I went from 4 remotes down to 1 now. The batteries lasted about 1 month before I had to recharge them (I use my cell phone charger). The only drawback of the remote to me is you have to turn off everything to switch to a different option (going from TV to Stereo, etc). But I keep my Stereo remote handy so then I don't have to shut off everything.

I like this remote. I am able to store my TV, BOSE, CABLE, and APPLE TV remote all in the drawer now. Charges and keeps the charge for a while. My only complaint, which isn't much, is that sometimes it is delayed and doesn't switch the input on the tv when it turns on having previously been on another input... maybe I'm too impatient. All you do is hit the help button once and it fixes itself.... ALL in ALL, very happy. Got it on major discount around black Friday so I don't really have room to complain

I have a Harmony 650 and a 350, figured I would give the 700 a try. That being the case it was easy to program, in fact I simply transferred the settings from my 650 to the 700. I love the backlit buttons and the ability to program different activities that allow you to turn on multiple devices with one button push, right down to the proper inputs on your TV!!!! If you have 4/5 different remotes laying around in your living room or man cave, get this remote. Don't be intimidated by having to program it online, all you need is the manufacturers name and model number of your devices, it's incredibly easy!!!

Decided to get a universal remote so that I could use just one device to turn off the different components. Instead of having to turn off the various devices with 4 different remotes this turns everything off with the push of just one button. At first when I'd want to watch TV I'd have sound but no picture on the TV only a green screen then I realized that you have to keep it pointed at the TV until the message display changes usually a couple of seconds. It also has a help button which you can push and it then asks a series of yes/no questions to fix it a problem you might be having.

My first smart remote, I was anticipating a long complex configuration process, but much to my surprise, it was super easy and quick to program the remote to what we want to do with it. Also easy to make changes.
Start out by having available the brand and model numbers of your gizmos, as you will need to know exactly what you are trying to control. Download the Harmony software, plug the remote into your computer via included USB cable, and start in. There are a few pre-defined actions, e.g., Watch TV, Listen to Music. By telling the Harmony software what to turn on, you build an action. For example, to Watch TV, I have the Harmony turn on my display, my tuner, and my receiver, and set the receiver to the appropriate HDMI input.
When the remote executes an action (e.g., Watch TV), the display will ask if everything is working...if you say no, it will try to turn on the gear that didn't turn on. Pretty sophisticated.
Is this One Remote To Rule Them All? So far, yes it is: I have four remotes in a drawer and one sitting on my table. Well, two: I like the remote came with the AppleTV 4, but I could drive the Apple TV with the Harmony.
Why is this my first universe remote? Well, I couldn't bring myself to shell out big $$$ for "just a remote." At this price point, it's ridiculous not to buy one. And rest assured, this is a very sophisticated device that is very easy to program.

I have a 4 piece home theatre setup for which I use this device. The device setup was super simple. All I was required to do was download the my harmony application for my remote, find my model numbers for my specified devices, and enter them in. The app walks you through the rest. I have two additional "activity" setups, as they are aptly named through this device. I hit one button and it turns on everything I need to watch tv. I also have an activity setup up for watching movies. Watch tv turns on the cable setup. Watch a movie turns on my bluray setup. I was also able to setup two additional devices for a separate room.
This product has not let me down. Super easy to use, you get everything out of 7 different device remotes all in one remote. No option is left out. It truly is a universal remote in every sense of the word.

I have owned a BUNCH of Harmony remotes over the years, and this is my favorite - BY FAR! I have replaced all of my Harmony remotes with this model. Real buttons for everything - no touchscreen to fail or be fiddly. Rechargeable batteries using a Micro-USB and the button back-lighting is the best of all of them. What's not to love! The web interface to move the actions from an old Harmony to the new one is so easy anyone could do it. Don't spend $$$ on the new touchscreen model - buy this one while you still can.

I love the way this remote is programmed because you just type in the model number of the item you want to control. It's also awesome how you can setup how the remote functions by making it change the channel on your directv receiver and raise or lower the volume on my Yamaha surround sound without having to switch between the two, just push the button and the remote automatically switches to the one you want to change. Absolutely a Great Remote and it's also rechargeable so you never have to buy batteries. The buttons light up to help you find the one you want to press.

We have had great luck with this remote.I have purchased 2 of these for our house. The remote is very simple to setup and configure for your entertainment system. The only tricky part is gathering all of your devices model numbers to input in.
I had purchased a Logitech Harmony One to have wireless capability and phone app control. Bad idea. The system only worked once in a while. I returned that and went and bought another Harmony 700 remote.
We have it running our TV, Blu-Ray player, Roku, Directv, & Receiver.
I would highly suggest getting this remote.

Harmony remotes are always great. Set up can be a bit convoluted, but once you have everything in their on line tool, it works well. I cannot imaging not having Harmony remotes in my home.
