I've had a older model for about 8 years. Has worked without fail from the beginning. This model has a much better layout. Also lights up as soon as you move it. BUT it has the same basic problem. It is hard to program. Fortunately I made all my mistakes on the first unit and programing was not that difficult the second time around. I like the Model 700 but you may have a problem communicating with their web site.

I love this remote. It is easy to program and can be customized to exactly what you need. I have use the 700 for some years and it still works perfectly. Only needs charging every couple of months. Its only limitation is the number of devices you can program.

if you're looking for a remote that controls multiple devices without a lot of headache and without spending a fortune then this remote will work for you. It's easy to program and use. The only thing I don't like about it is there is no charging cradle so you have to plug it in via USB to charge it when it gets low.

My "Home Theater" system was put together about 5 years ago and required 5 different remotes to operate all of the features. This Universal Remote came with easy instructions and I can now make everything run with one device. The most difficult part was finding the model numbers for each unit that needed to be programmed into the new remote. My wife and I now love the ease with which we can enjoy the system. Thank you, Logitech and Best Buy.

Great remote. Some sync issues, but nothing that ruins the experience. Works great with all my components. Even works with my XBOX One and 360. Especially handy with my Denon AL-24 home theater receiver as I bought it without the high end remote that it originally came with...One that is no longer in production and uses more advanced functions then that of many standard universal remotes.

Quick setup(once you have the model numbers for all the devices you want to control), easy to use & backlight makes it easy to see. Only complaint was new Samsung 4k TV has very few activities listed on the remote once programmed and the activities they chose to enable are not the most important. Have not checked to see if this is correctable by my manual editing of the remote setup for this device.

Hooked it up to Channel Master DVR, LG Bluray, LG TV. Love the macro buttons to turn everything on and get the right inputs selected. Switching from one macro setting to the other is not always smooth. Help feature is nice. Software to program remote was easy to use, but did not work completely on a couple of computers. Not sure if I would be at full price, but I definitely like it.

I have now purchased two of these remotes for my two separate watching areas in my home, to simplify and coordinate my multiple devices. The included software makes set-up a breeze, I was able to complete in about 15 minutes total for 6 devices. Nearly identical to the harmony 650, but the included rechargeable batteries are a nice bonus. Additionally, the on-board trouble shooting feature has come a long ways since it's initial implementation.

The remote works great with all my devices blue ray, TV and Direct TV u have to go online to upload all codes so need to be a bit knowledgeable with computers to set up your remote correctly. Overall great remote if you know how to use computers but if you don't know computers would not recommend.

I have multiple people in my home that use the television. I have a cable box with a DVR, a Blue Ray viewer, video cassette player, LCD flat screen, and a audio receiver. Getting everything to work was a bit complicated and was a huge frustration, until I purchased this remote. It was easy to set up and works great. My mother in law states it's the best thing I have ever purchased. I liked it so much, I purchased one for my brother.

I have two of these and the first one was up and running in a few short moments. However, I went to make a change to the configuration several weeks/months later and it was a horror show trying to get my computer to sync the remote. My computer was recognizing the device, but the harmony software was simply not initiating the sync. I eventually had to hard reset the remote and sync from there.
Then I added a second 700 for my bedroom and that failed to recognize the remote at all. I was forced to boot the remote into some kind of safe mode which took forever to find on the internet.
Essentially, you need to know what you your way around a computer if you are getting one of these remotes.
If you are expecting Apple style plug and play behavior, forget it.
These are my only sophisticated universal remotes, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I had very good luck with my almost 10 year old Logitech (which still works by the way) but I needed the new version to be more compatible with the upgrades made to my home theater system (specifically the Smart TV features and functions) which came out after my previoius model. As far as Im concerned Logitech is the only way to go for a all in one remote...Owning is believing!

Have a Harmony One and wanted to get another one. This model was on sale and has the ability to be customized exactly as I want. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the buttons are a little too soft for me. Makes it too easy to accidentally press a button when picking up and handling the remote. But that's a small price for a remote that does everything I need.

The Most Practical for My Needs

I used to have a Harmony One. Had it for a long, long time. Went through various batteries. But after at least 10 years of hitting the floor, grimy fingers (ribs) and general wear and tear, it was time for a replacement. I actual purchased one of the high end Harmony remotes (2 separate ones) and returned each for the same reason. They did more than I needed and where not as functional in a simple manner. Extra buttons, lack of buttons, uncomfortable shape . . . there was nothing about them that compared to the harmony one. So I saw the 700 on line at Best Buy. It looked like the harmony one. What it lacks is the cool touch screen my one had, but aside from that I am very pleased. It controls all of my devices (iPod connected to receiver, receiver, cable box, Roku, MacBook Pro, DVD player and Xbox). Every thing works well. Again the only thing I miss is my touch screen and a the charging cradle.
