Customers are pleased with the Harmony Companion's easy setup, voice control capabilities, and compatibility with multiple devices. The phone app is also user-friendly. However, some users have concerns about the lack of a backlight on the remote, its high price point, occasional connectivity issues, and limited compatibility with certain devices.

So far, I'm loving the remote and hub! I have a 4k TV, an Xbox One S, a PS4 and PS3, along with my AV Receiver and everything works flawlessly. The setup was far easier than my previous Harmony Remotes, as well! The only drawback to this remote is the lack of a status or function screen, along with no backlighting of any of the buttons. Other than that, it has been easy to use, configure and works everything I need it to work. I'm even thrilled with the prospect of using some of the home automation enhancements that are part of the system.

Not A New Companion!!

I ordered this to control 2 entertainment systems -- my normal TV setup Lg OLED TV, Samsung DVR, Sony Blu Ray Player, and Denon AVR receiver; and my PC and Streaming Setup -- Samsung 8k TV, DIY desktop, and Yamaha (alleged) 8K receiver.
The setup required all components to be on the internet which is not a problem for me but the "scanning" phase did not pick up all my devices, even though I was able to manually add each one. If a device is on the supported list then why wasn't it automatically picked up? Down rate 1 star for that. After initial setup the 2 systems seemed to work ok, with both the remote (caveat described below) and the harmony app on my cell phone. My plan is to use the remote much more than the phone.
After initial setup the companion was not able to pick up the "home" command from my Lg TV remote. I have yet to try other commands but that was an important one to pull up the home screen so that I could select and use Lg apps. So now I have to keep my Lg remote handy. Down rate another star.
Finally the 3rd star down rate has nothing to do with the setup and operation of the companion but was because the Companion that was delivered to me was NOT NEW IN THE BOX!!!
The security seals were pealed back, the user's manual was missing, and the battery in the remote was dead. Looks like a return to me. When I buy an item described as new I EXPECT IT TO BE NEW!!
Bottom line is that the companion does work to control basic functions of "appliances" but customization (adding commands) seems to be a problem. So now I can turn my components on and off and use basic cable tv commands on my LG setup and turn my gaming/streaming tv and receiver on and off but need the original remotes to be handy in case I want to perform more complex actions.
I am ambivalent on recommending this partially due to operational limitations and having no guarantee you will actually get a new in the box item.
I really do hope I get a survey email from BB because the lack of quality control on ensuring a new item will be strongly highlighted. Frankly the individual who packaged my item should be disciplined or fired.
The fact that it is working after a fashion -- I did find a replacement battery in one of my office drawers -- is keeping me from packing this up and returning it, but I do feel BB should provide me a partial refund from sending me a "not new" item.
BTW, I don't know how much juice the battery I found has so I will be running out tomorrow to buy new batteries. Thanks a lot BB.

So far its been good for what I'm wanting it to do... it wasn't able to hook up to my Bose speaker even though it recognizes it so I'm not sure whats going on with that. But I mainly wanted it to work with my TV, Blu Ray Player, and Fire stick.

Can be very frustrating at times. Does not always work. Have to turn on and off to get the system to reset. The sensors do not always find the proper equipment to turn on. Not worth the money. Very expensive. Would not buy again

I l.ike Logitech and have had other Logitech Harmonys. They are not very easy to program & could be a little more intuitive. We always have to hire someone to do the programming of the device so we can use it. Then learning all the different ways to do things with the Harmony is a slow process- we always just find out things gradually as we use.

I had already done a lot of research on the remote and I knew it would be perfect, almost got the elite but the over double price hike wasn't justifiable for me. Only reason I gave 4 stars was because best buys web site says the remote is backlit and it is not

This remote is really the best of the Harmony line, in my opinion. The touch screen is noce in the Elite version, but to some customers (such as my elderly ones), the touch screen is too sensitive, and some people just aren't comfortable touching something that doesn't have a feel to it. The haptic feedback helps, but in general it is still too sensitive.
Back to this remote, the buttons are easy to press, everything is fully re-mappable from the Harmony app, I don't know that I could ask for more from this guy!

Not quite cooperating with Alexa

Well, I'm not in love with the design, but I bought it to work with Alexa to control my entertainment center. This is the only thing that Alexa can't seem to stay attached to. I need to open up the Harmony app on my phone, and then it'll connect. That's kind of a pain. I've had my old Harmony remote for years, and this just ... I mean, it's okay. But it's harder to use. I went online and programed the extra buttons and the whole long/short thing. But my old Harmony remote made it pretty easy to know what button was what. This one is much less intuitive. I'm doing okay with it now after a few weeks, but the old ball and chain barely started using my last Harmony remote without complaining. Right now, he's just going to use the 5 different remotes and try to coax Alexa into doing what he wants. So, I'm a fan of the IDEA of this remote and how everything is connected through the hub, but not so much in its execution. Maybe I should've gotten the next model up.

We have a connected home, with tons of devices and lights, but were having a challenge getting our home entertainment system to work with at all. The Harmony Hub, along with IFTTT, synced with the Amazon Echo to make this a more seamless integration. The overall remote is fine, though I'm not in love with Logitech's UI for programming the remote.
