Great Keyboard for use with a smart TV

I purchased a Samsung Ultra HD TV from Best Buy. I found out that when using it to access the internet or other areas that needed info added, the on screen input method was cumbersome. I decided to purchase a wireless keyboard to make the process a little easier. I looked at the Samsung model which seemed a little pricey for occasional use. I then looked at the Logitech K400 which was on sale and decided to take a chance, and I have been quite pleased with it. It does not have some of the dedicated function keys that the Samsung has, but I do not find this to be a problem. And the touch pad works great also. All in all I find it to be perfect for use with my smart TV. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to purchase a wireless keyboard.

The keyboard is just the right size for me.
I'm a 2 finger typer so it's easier for me to get used to the reduced size than it would be for someone trained in typing.
The mouse pad works good also.
There was no documentation on how to use the special buttons at the top so reduced the rating to 4 stars.

Pretty good wireless KB

The keyboard is usable, small and has a built-in mouse pad. The weak part of this KB seems to be twofold: if you don't have direct line-of-sight or nearness between the KB and blu-tooth fob, the mouse pad is not very accurate and sometimes non-functional.

The product picture shows a K400, however, when opened the box, it was actually a K400R- working ok on PC but not on my Samsung TV.

I purchased this for use in my basement recording/rehearsing studio for remote input to a DAW PC. Wireless range seems adequate in my 20'x12' space, although I have not tried it from every corner of the room. I am still using the original batteries, so I am happy with the battery life so far. Keyboard is small, but usable. My only complaint is the right Shift key, which is easy to confuse with other adjacent keys. Touchpad is responsive and very usable. The portability and convenience of the keyboard/touchpad combo more than compensates for the familiar and comfortable functionality of a conventional mouse and full-size keyboard.

The Logitech K400 wireless keyboard is very handy and easy to use, reliable so far and only $20 at Best Buy in Dec '14. Arrived quickly, insert batteries, follow instructions, and it works! Remembers password so no need to input it again whenever you start it up again. Have used Rocketfish and lesser-name keyboards in past that didn't work or disconnected constantly; don't have those problems here. Only odd thing here is you have to hit Function key and End (or Home or Page) if you want to go there; if you want to select a bunch of emails to delete, for example, you hold down 3 keys (shift-fn-end) whereas normal keyboard only needs shift-end. Also remember to turn if OFF when you walk away for long time or batteries won't last. But keyboard is light, mobile, slim and working great with my Dell laptops.

We bought several of these to use on our Samsung Smart TV's. I love that there is no messy cord to deal with, the keyboard connects well to the tv. The smaller size keyboard does not take up much room, the built in mouse is wonderful because we did not have to purchase a separate mouse to take up more room & it makes it easy to store away when not in use. This was a great buy, inexpensive compared to others and that is why I bought 2 more for the other 2 tv's we recently purchased as well.

This keyboard works very well for a media center setup. Not too big and not too small. I really like the keyboard feel even when holding it on my lap. The touch pad works well. I suggest turning off the tap-to-click feature on the touch pad (prevents accidental selections). You can do this by holding down the blue function key and the left touch pad key simultaneously. The batteries last a long time in this keyboard. I liked it so much I bought two. The price point is excellent... less than 20 bucks on sale. Only downside is that it does not have back lit keys (which would run down the batteries pretty fast).

The most user-friendly keyboard you will ever own.

When it comes to most keyboards, this keyboard is by far one of the most user friendly keyboards to begin with.
The unifying usb device not only helps in the long run with compatibility support, but it also allows you to see what other Logitech products are compatible with the unifying software. The keyboard itself is simple, neat, and gives a nice sleek design for such an affordable and inexpensive keyboard.
One of the most useful aspects of the keyboard are the gestures that the keyboard posses within the mouse pad. It's the little things that a small, yet extremely useful keyboard can truly do. I would HIGHLY recommend this keyboard to anyone that possess a Windows based PC product, mainly for the dedicated controls and functions that Windows based dedicated devices are used for. The range and distance between the receiver and keyboard works incredibly well without even a notion of worrying in a loss of connection/communication.
*Side note: MAKE SURE the next 'unifying software' from Logitech IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE USB RECEIVER; not all products, especially older products are compatible. So be sure to double check!* (You can flat out see the icon on the back and front of the box or product that you're buying.
My only main concern with the keyboard is that it can sound a little bit flimsy at times; but I'm telling you, the keyboard does it's job 10X better than most people truly would or could imagine.
For beginners, I would recommend this keyboard in a heartbeat without a hesitation.

I've been using Logitech K400 Wireless keyboard for past 1 year with my PC. It's Great and ordered one more to use with Samsung Smart TV.
It's a Breeze to use Keyboard + Touch Pad. I dumped the Wireless Mouse. Because the Touchpad on this Keyboard works very well for me. It's very light weight and compact, I can keep on my lap or on table without any hassle. I recommend this Keyboard to anyone who looking for Great Wireless keyboard with touchpad feature.

I was setting up a HTPC and wanted a single controller which could interact with Windows Media Center and also could be used to browse the web from anywhere in the room. This keyboard/touchpad combo performs the function of both keyboard and mouse in one compact unit. The keyboard has a number of smart keys which allows me to control WMC without much need for the touchpad. Range is good and totally plug-n-play. Price is very affordable.

Bought on sale to use with Samsung smart tv. Works fine and is light and portable for occasional surfing use while sitting in a chair. Much better than trying to enter info via tv remote. Integrated touch pad is nice. Probably not optimal ergonomically for lots of heavy typing use. Similar to laptop keyboard in size.

It works great with a PC. It's very light to hold, and the touch pad is very easy to use. It has a USB extender for the wireless USB so that you can remove it easier from desktop/ docking station. I didn't try how far it works since I use it in the office. The battery usage is great since I don't turn it off. Also there's a on/off switch if you want to reserve your juice.

Needed this to interact with my mini-pc (Zotac). VERY easy setup, reconized upon boot, and the built-in touchpad is very responsive. Have accidentally left turned on a few times (at days at a time), and was delightfully surprise that the batteries weren't dead. So I feel that it is safe to assume that this keyboard isn't tough on battery use. Nice product for the price.

Keyboard for use with Chromebox

I needed a keyboard to use with my HP Chromebox. The Chromebox is used in my living room as an entertainment center. I will stream movies in HD, videos, pictures and music from it. The Chromebox came with a key board and mouse. But this combo was lacking as you had to have somewhere to use the mouse.
In comes the Logitech keyboard mouse combo. This is a much better solution. I can now lounge on the couch with this keyboard on my lap. No need to have a table nearby or a magazine jammed up next to me for a place to roll a mouse around. For use to control a home entertainment computer this keyboard is awesome.
Also the keyboard itself has a much better feel to the buttons when pressed than the cheaper feeling Chromebox keyboard.
It synced with my Chromebox without issue. Plug in the wireless adapter into the Chromebox and the first time I used the keyboard it worked perfectly.
The only downside I can say is that the Chromebox keyboard had some dedicated buttons such as playing and pausing video and other Chromebox specific tasks that this keyboard does not have. But for me that is not that big of a deal.
Heres to using my new keyboard to entertain myself while being a lazy bum on my couch!

I absolutely love this keyboard! It was inexpensive, but works like a champ! Having the touch pad built in is a really nice feature. I use this to control my PC hooked up to my TV so I can surf the web from my couch. Great range too since I am about 20 feet from my PC when using this.

I connected the USB dongle and it works great! Only issue is when I make a fast move on the mouse pad, the TV Configuration screen comes up for no reason. It's a glitch that can get annoying, but for the price I couldn't of asked for a better product. I'm able to use the mouse and keyboard when using the Web App. When using Netflix, the keyboard does not type letters, but it does let you use the arrow keys, which is still faster than using the tv remote. There's no lag. Keyboard is perfect size and easy to use. Just plug and play. Love it!

I'd been looking at other models that were $70+. Since this was for a test, I didn't want to commit that much initially. For a $20 wireless keyboard, this thing is great! Lightweight, easy to use and handle, great multimedia button access.
