Very comfortable, Easy Switch between 3 computers

I find the MX Master 3 mouse very comfortable to use and the MagSpeed scroll wheel is wicked fast. The ability to make Application Specific settings for buttons, gestures and pointer/scrolling is a powerful feature. It is really nice being able to reverse the scrolling direction of the scroll wheel in Windows 10 using the Logitech Options software instead of editing the mouse properties in the Registry! Easy Switch is great. You can pair the MX Master 3 mouse with up to three computers using Bluetooth or use the included Unifying receiver. Quickly switch between three computers by tapping the Easy-Switch button on the underside of the mouse. Trying to share a regular wireless mouse with more than one computer can be difficult at times. Much nicer being able to tap a button and quickly switch between three computers. If you are using two (or three) computers side by side, picking up the mouse to tap the Easy-Switch button becomes tedious. It would have been nice to have the button on top. A full charge using the included USB-C cable should last 70 days. The mouse gets constant use with our desktop computer and it holds a charge so well I leave it on all the time. It will let me know when the battery gets below 10% and I can still use it while charging. If you don’t want to use your wireless mouse with a wire, a quick minute charge will last three hours. I’ve switched back and forth between Bluetooth and Unifying receiver connections on Mojave and Windows 10 and see no benefit to using the Unifying receiver and tying up a USB port if your computer supports Bluetooth. The mouse remembers button/wheel assignments when switching between Bluetooth and Unifying connections or if you remove the device and add again later. Logitech Options software: The Logitech Options software is easy to use, and it can automatically back up your settings to the cloud. Much nicer than their buggy G Hub software. The settings for the “Wireless Mouse MX Master 3” are organized within Mouse, Point & Scroll and Flow panels. The Mouse panel has two views of the mouse, overhead and left side. There is a checkbox to swap left/right buttons. You can customize the Middle, Wheel mode shift, Gesture, Forward and Back buttons plus Horizontal scroll. Selecting them on the Mouse panel presents a pop-up list of Recommended actions but you can expand to the full list (40+) organized by Navigation, Productivity, Media Control, Mouse Commands, System Commands, Quick Access and Do Nothing. The Horizontal scroll has a list of 4 Recommended and 8 Other actions. Settings default to All Apps or you can enable Application Specific settings. There are presets available for some of your installed apps and you can enable/disable application specific settings anytime without losing your custom settings. If you assign the “Gesture button” action to any of the buttons you can then select between Windows navigation, Media Control, Pan, App navigation, Zoom/Rotate gesture presets or Customize your own. Gestures are executed when you hold down the “Gesture button” while moving the mouse. The “Navigate between apps” gesture is strange because it functions backwards. It is similar to using cmd/alt + tab on the keyboard but moving the mouse to the RIGHT scrolls through the apps to the LEFT and vice versa. The Point & Scroll panel lets you set the Pointer speed, Scrolling speed, Scroll direction, Smooth scrolling, Thumb wheel speed, Thumb wheel direction, SmartShift, SmartShift sensitivity, and Fixed scroll wheel mode. All of these settings can be applied to All Apps or can be set Application Specific. The Flow panel is where you Enable and Setup Logitech Flow. The feature allows you to switch between computers by moving your cursor to the edge of the screen and quickly copy-paste text, images, and files between them. Using the MX Master 3 mouse with the MX Keys keyboard: Duolink is a great feature. You hold the FN key on the MX Keys while you move the MX Master 3 mouse or click the buttons. You can define another complete set of actions and gestures for the mouse and toggle them by holding the FN key. Tapping the Easy-Switch buttons on the MX Keys to switch between computers won’t automatically switch the MX Master 3 mouse. You will need to switch both. It would have been a great feature to automatically switch the mouse when you switch the keyboard like a KVM switch.

Great Mouse, But Customer Service Lacking

I purchased this mouse and was excited by its ergonomic features. It's certainly the most comfortable mouse I've ever used. I also appreciated the buttons that I could map for custom functions. The mouse is, without question, the best one I've ever had...but only in theory. That's because the company's handling of a problem leaves much to be desired. Let's back up a bit. So, I've purchased four mice (two USB, and two Bluetooth, including this one) and two keyboards from Logitech in the past year alone. I'm a big fan. (And literally tell everyone at work who will listen, about Logitech. I know... odd... but I do.) So it was surprising, not to mention disconcerting, when I contacted their customer service to ask why the mouse displayed an orange (not green or red) light, and, ultimately, the matter wasn't handled to satisfaction. Let's be clear about this orange light: This was a very distressing discovery after I paid $109 for the mouse. The customer service rep, who was friendly and whom I have no complaint with at all, knowing he was just doing his job, took down all my information (name, address, phone number, etc.), only to tell me, later, it would be better if I just return it to Best Buy since I'm an Elite member and it's within the window. Well, here's the problem: I trust Logitech and threw away some of the packaging from the mouse. Maybe it was just the plastic cover; I don't know. The box is still available, along with the instructions for the mouse, but I don't feel right about sending just part of the packaging back. It's clear that I received a defective unit. That's because there's an orange light (which the manual makes no mention of — just green or red LEDs) and the battery doesn't hold a charge for more than three days. That's why I was stunned to learn that some of you have gotten 70 days (really?!) out of one charge. In my view, Logitech should have just shipped me a new mouse since this one is clearly defective. That's why I had to give this a two-star rating. The mouse is perfect for my hand. I mean, PERFECT. But they didn't stand by their product, which wasn't a matter of returning the product to Best Buy at that point. They manufactured a defective product and, in all my years of purchasing consumer electronics but, really, anything at all, once it becomes a question of defect, the manufacturer immediately ships out a new device at no charge to the customer. Especially after the customer service rep and I had days of back-and-forth messages and I took the trouble of answering the questions asked of me and providing my personally identifiable information. Only for it to not even be used (Um, GDPR much?) But I digress. Most companies would ship out a new unit by priority mail. Especially after all the inconvenience I endured. But that didn't happen here. So, two stars.

    Third Time's Still a Charm

The original Logitech MX Master mouse made some waves when it launched in 2015, primarily from what was considered a high price tag. What could a $99 mouse offer that its cheaper rivals couldn’t? On paper, the specs didn’t add up, but what Logitech created was more than the sum of its parts in the pursuit of creating a nigh-perfect productivity mouse for power users. The success of the original MX Master mouse and its followup, the Master 2 (and refreshed Master 2S), made expectations high for the third generation of Logitech’s flagship productivity mouse. Fortunately, as both a productivity-enhancing tool for power users and simply a luxury experience for office tasks, Logitech’s MX Master 3 Wireless Laser Mouse fires on all cylinders, proving that you don’t need two stumbles before hitting it out of the park when good things come in threes. - Unboxing and Setup Despite its tall profile, wide base, and metal scroll gear, the mouse only comes in at 5 ounces (142g), which is on the heavier side for wireless mice but still within reason for a large mouse. First impressions are mixed - the material quality doesn’t feel particularly higher than other wireless mice with a rubberized grip and typical-feeling plastic mouse buttons. Scroll wheels are quite nice to touch and use, and the mouse glides a little more smoothly across a mousepad than some higher-end gaming mice I’ve used. Included in the box is a USB-C charging cable, a Logitech Unifying Receiver, and a quick-start guide that directs you to the MX site to download the Logitech Options software. The Logitech Options software is a 200MB download that, as strictly a driver companion, would be the weakest part of the entire Logitech MX experience. It requires an account to be created or linked to a Google or Facebook account to use the software, and doing so backs up your settings to Logitech’s own cloud to let you sync your keyboard settings across devices. The software is somewhat basic and allows for the usual litany of function key reassignments, but besides Logitech Flow and basic setting adjustments there’s little that the software adds to the MX Master 3 experience. A nice feature of the Logitech’s MX device line is that they can be paired to 3 different devices once configured with the Logitech Options software. The mouse can be paired via Bluetooth to any compatible device and this connection saved to any of the three device slots on the keyboard. These slots can also store a pairing to any Logitech Unifying Receiver and switching between them is a quick button-press on the bottom of the mouse. - Design & Build Quality What Logitech took away in flair and color moving from the MX Master 2S to the MX Master 3, they made up for in comfort and sheer ergonomics. The grip is very natural, comfortable, and every button is positioned and weighted perfectly so there’s no accidental clicks, scrolls, or presses you didn’t intend on. The positioning is so good that I only remembered the existence of the forward + back buttons that were literally resting under my thumb for a week, never once activated by mistake. That there are three buttons the thumb can use and activate without moving it out of its cradle, that are still easy to activate without accidentally triggering them in normal use, is simply outstanding. Common shortcuts can be mapped via the Logitech Options software and make this into a productivity-enhancing beast for your daily work. The switchgear used in every button feels extremely solid and durable, exhibiting no play and making extremely satisfying clicks. The thumb wheel scrolls with a good amount of resistance, and the main scroll wheel changes between free-scroll and ratchet mode with what feels like a magnetic click on and off. Scroll the wheel fast in ratchet mode and this “clutch” disengages, letting the wheel spin freely then ratcheting back into step once it comes to a stop. Might be a little too much fun to play with if you’re a chronic fidgeter. Extremely impressive all around. My only criticism on the design would be that it’s not an ambidextrous mouse, nor available in a left-hand variant as of this writing (October 9, 2019). Lefties shouldn’t be left out on this one. - Performance In daily use, the MX Master 3 glides and tracks excellently across my mousepad, yielding precise, weighted cursor movement that rarely needs compensation adjustments even when moving across three screens. Both slow, precise and fast, sweeping motions are effortless once you get used to the momentum that a heavy mouse generates. One of the hallmark features of the mouse’s optical sensor is its ability to track across any surface (per Logitech’s claims), even glass. Sure enough - tracking across a mousepad, wooden desk, cloth sheet, leather, and indeed even the glass of a tablet all worked phenomenally, with the glass feeling oddly even more precise than the other surfaces. As mentioned in Design & Build Quality, there’s no shortage of buttons on the mouse, and using them in conjunction with Logitech Options to map common commands and keyboard shortcuts (which can be set per-application, thus allowing commands to change based on the active window) definitely showed potential for speeding up my workflows over time. With all the shortcuts literally at your fingertips, it’s hard to think of a situation where they would be a hindrance rather than a boon for getting things done quicker. - Logitech Flow Logitech Options’ killer feature is Logitech Flow. Essentially a software-based keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) switch, Flow lets you control two computers using a single set of Logitech MX (and presumably other Logitech-branded) devices. While the trick would be neat enough in itself to control two computers, the software synchronizes both machines’ clipboards automatically, allowing seamless copy-paste and drag-and-drop integration between them. This works for both Windows and Macintosh machines, and you can indeed mix-and-match operating systems. The only limitations to Flow are that it must be used with two machines on the same local network, and both machines must be on and awake. Flow was surprisingly easy to set up and sync between computers. Once enabled I had no trouble using a single mouse pointer and keyboard between two machines. While the software works as intended, moving from the “local” to the “remote” machine and back took a moment for the mouse pointer to move between machines, and there was a noticeable delay, maybe 2 or 3 frames, between mouse movement on the local machine and the pointer updating position on the remote one. I found myself needing to move just a little slower and more deliberately on the remote machine, but not to the point where I felt it was anything more than a minor inconvenience rather than a major impediment. The software worked flawlessly in my testing otherwise, and truthfully the ease of simply copy-pasting text, images, files, anything between two machines after just a couple minutes’ setup is revelatory. I could almost make my recommendation for the MX Master 3 on this alone. - Wireless The wireless range on the mouse to a Unifying Receiver will vary based on interference - if it’s installed on a rear USB port on a desktop tower it may lose connection much easier than when it’s installed on the front. Regardless, the mouse had no issue working on any surface elsewhere in the room, no matter what obstructions I put in the way. Though not advertised as a gaming mouse, it certainly could be used for a few casual matches of popular twitch-shooters as latency was adequate throughout testing. At worst, the MX Master 3 feels like it could be a frame behind the action on-screen but no more. Switching between this mouse and a Logitech G305 Lightspeed, the G305 felt a little more responsive. In an attempt to overcome the latency deficit of the MX Master 3, I plugged the mouse in directly via the included USB-C cable, and found that it’s unfortunately a charging port only. It will need to be connected wirelessly to any PC to use it with one. - Bottom Line Hardcore gamers, you will want to look elsewhere. For everyone else, the MX Master 3 is to mice what German automakers are to cars - luxury experiences with the price to match. A $99.99 MSRP is a tough proposition when most other wireless mice and even the older MX Master models can be had for half as much, but Logitech set the benchmark for mice a third time over with build quality, features, and performance that still put them at the front of the pack. Factor in the killer app that is Logitech Flow and it shouldn’t be a surprise I’m giving this one praise. Highly recommended!

The Logitech MX Master 3 cordless mouse is the ideal companion to the Logitech MX Keys keyboard. It is a very fine product on its own merits, but when paired with the MX Keys keyboard the duo provide the finest interface/control devices you will ever find. I just posted a review of the companion Logitech MX Keys keyboard and the next three paragraphs are copied from that review because I think it is important to learn about the manufacturer, Logitech, when you are investing in these high quality peripherals. I have to confess that I just love Logitech products – they are always superbly engineered, are packed with great features and have always given me reliable service. Logitech was founded in Apples, Switzerland in 1981. Its first product was a computer mouse in 1982 that was adopted by several computer manufacturers (including Apple.) Later it was the first company to offer a replacement mouse to the consumer market. Logitech introduced wireless mice, optical mice and trackballs. By 2008 Logitech had produced over one billion mice. The Logitech mouse was followed by a wide variety of high quality products including a handheld scanner, keyboards, a digital camera, webcams, speakers and microphones. It acquired Harmony, the industry standard for programmable multi-equipment remote control devices, in 2004, then purchased Ultimate Ears, a creator of outstanding Bluetooth speakers, in 2008, bought Jaybird, a premier manufacturer of very fine Bluetooth earphones, in 2016 and most recently, acquired Astro Gaming in 2017. Here are the key features of this great mouse: • Logitech MX Master 3 wireless mouse M-R0077 (receiver C-U0008) • Dual connectivity (Logitech Unifying USB receiver or Bluetooth) • Wireless range approximately 33 feet • Rechargeable 500 mAh lithium ion battery power • Typical usage on a full charge (which takes two hours): up to 70 days • Includes 54 inch long USB-A to USB-C charging cable • Mouse compatible with Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, Linux operating systems • Includes left/right, back/forward, app switch, wheel mode shift, middle click • Magspeed Scroll wheel with smart shift • Thumbwheel • Gesture button • Resolution: 200 – 4,000 DPI • Darkfield high precision sensor • Low battery LED alert • Easy-Switch button to connect up to three devices and to switch between them, allowing seamless workflow across multiple devices • Logitech Options software to customize mouse features • Designed to provide advanced functionality when paired with MX Keys wireless keyboard • Dimensions: 3.32 W x 4.92 D x 2.01 inches H • Weight: 4.97 ounces • One year warranty This mouse has a beautiful shape which allows you to comfortably rest your hand on it while it cradles your thumb. There is a subtle grooved texture on the thumb rest and the right side (where your little finger would grip) as well as a non-reflective, anti-slip black matte texture coating on the main body of the mouse. This is perhaps the nicest exterior I have ever seen on a computer mouse. Just above your thumb are two programmable buttons (typically assigned to back/forward), as well as the thumb wheel which can be used for various functions (such as magnifying/reducing the size of text or spreadsheets). Pressing down with your thumb on its rest activates another feature, the gesture button. The bottom of the mouse has four low-friction glide pads, the recharging port, an on/off switch, the Easy-Switch button to change to other linked devices and the Darkfield optical sensor. For me, the two most important aspects of the Logitech MX Master 3 mouse are the electromagnetic scroll wheel and the Darkfield high precision sensor. The scroll wheel can switch from a ratchet mode to a free spinning mode by pressing a button behind it. In free spinning mode the scroll can whip up and down documents, spreadsheets or Cad-Cam plans very rapidly and effortlessly. The Darkfield sensor is a Logitech innovation which will operate on any surface, even glass! This is particularly useful to those of us who like to work on glass-topped tables – no more need for mouse pads!! The resolution of the sensor is set at 1,000 DPI but can be easily changed to any value (in 50 DPI increments) from 200 to 4,000 DPI. While there are some mice with even higher maximum resolutions (up to 16,000 DPI) 4,000 DPI will meet the needs of almost any application. This mouse is more than adequate even for the most stringent demands of Cad-Cam and Photoshop duties. The MX Master 3 mouse automatically changes the button assignments to defaults appropriate for the application you are working on. For example, the thumb wheel will scroll side-to-side on spreadsheets, magnify/reduce text on documents or change brush size in Photoshop. I was amazed by this feature when I had both a spreadsheet and a Word document open on my desktop. The feature changed without any action on my part when I put the mouse pointer on each document! The ability to pair with three devices at once is another nice feature. I linked it to my desktop PC, my Fire tablet and a laptop I use frequently. This gives me the freedom to use multiple devices without changing my interface (keyboard and mouse) and from the same position at my desk. Another useful element is the rechargeable battery power used by the mouse. There are few things as frustrating as working with a wireless mouse and discovering that the battery has become depleted and that you have no replacements handy. More than once I have had to scavenge a needed battery from a remote control so that I could continue working on my PC. That will not happen with the Logitech MX Master 3 since it recharges from any USB port and you can continue to use it while the recharging takes place. You can expect up to 70 days usage from a full charge. One last point – this is a very tough and durable device! Three times (yeah, I know, I am really clumsy) I accidently knocked it off my kitchen counter (where I was using it with one of my computers) and it survived a 42 inch fall onto a hard surface with no damage or scratches! There are many other slick features (copy and paste from one device to another, quickly applying an alternate set of mouse controls, etc.) but you will find the core features described above to be more than sufficient justification to buy this superb mouse. I urge you to pair it with the similarly outstanding Logitech Keys keyboard to experience the full functionality of that duo. I am delighted to give the amazing Logitech MX Master 3 mouse my full and enthusiastic recommendation!

I have greatly enjoyed using this fabulous mouse for several weeks in connection with its companion keyboard, MX Keys. Connectivity is solid. You can either mate this device with your computer using the Logitech Unifying Receiver dongle (supplied) or, if your computer has Bluetooth connectivity, you can use Bluetooth instead. I did not need the dongle as Bluetooth was completely satisfactory. I had it paired with my computer in minutes. The MX Master 3 is simply beautiful on my desktop next to the MX Keys. The mouse has a vertical scroll wheel with a button to control whether the scrolling is smooth or with indentions. There is also a horizontal scroll wheel which I often used often with a customized zoom in and out function in Microsoft Word. There are also two additional customizable buttons beneath the horizontal scroll wheel. The feel of the mouse in my average-sized hand was perfect, and the scrolling function is smooth and flawless. There is a button to allow indentions for the vertical scroll if you want that. The keys and mouse are beautiful together in appearance and they have a great working symbiosis. A plethora of customizations, both general and specific to commonly used office software is offered with the Logitech Options software. Functions on the mouse and keyboard can be changed, customized and re-arranged using the software. The possibilities are not infinite, but they would far exceed your patience and the scope of this review. The mouse is charged via supplied USB cable (USB-C to USB-A). The keyboard lasted about 3 weeks: the MX Master 3 is still going strong with no recharge. While charging a green LED flashes. When it turns solid green, the device is fully charged. The LED changes to red when the battery is low. This is the finest mouse I have ever had the pleasure of using. Highly recommended.

I have been using Logitech products for years and they have long been known for incredible quality and value for money. I have Logitech keyboards and mice at home and at work and the MX Master 3 goes with me anywhere I take my laptop. I travel extensively for work and as a professional software engineer I put computers and devices like the MX Master 3 through a lot of use and I have become very particular about what devices I rely upon. The MX Master 3 is incredibly comfortable to use and has the precision (4000 DPI sensor resolution) to match. Whether you're editing family photos or writing code every day, the MX Master 3 will not let you down. The MX Master 3 uses USB-C for charging and will last 3 hours on just 1 minutes worth of charging time (according to Logitech website). The MX Master 3 supports Windows, Mac and Linux and is easily paired with three different devices.

Purchased for simplicity of using on 2 different systems. I have a mac for video editing and pc for gaming both are used daily, and this mouse can switch between both systems with a simple push of a button. Battery lasts for what seems like forever, owned for just about 9 months and with daily use have only charged it 3 times. Charge time is about 45 minutes from dead battery and it can be used while charging as if it was a wired mouse. Feels good in the hand comfortable to use for hours, customizable button assignment, and smooth scrolling the wheel feels solid and very well built and accuracy is spot on. Bluetooth connectivity is solid and it comes with the 2.4ghz receiver in the box if your systems don’t have bluetooth. Both are great options.

I was looking for a reliable mouse that was wireless and long lasting. I was happy to see this one not only was made well, has a long battery life, it also if very responsive when moving. It feels comfortable for large hands and allows for multiple device connections. I do wish there was a place to hold onto the dongle within the mouse itself. Otherwise if lost could always connect via Bluetooth. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good reliable mouse!

The Logitech MX Master 3 mouse is a sleek, clean, and very comfortable in the hand mouse. It is very easy to setup out of the box as well. Like all Logitech accessories, all you have to do is plug in the USB receiving device and it will automatically download the driver to the device it is to be used upon. The mouse has a nice matte black finish color, as well as, the ergo rubber being very comfortable in your hand. I enjoyed how they extended the thumb rest far enough out to where you can actually rest your thumb on it. Another neat feature is the side roller, which I have never had available on another mouse that I have used before. So not only do you have an up and down roller, the scroll, on the top of the mouse, but you also have a side to side roller, which they call a thumb roller. The mouse is very quick and precise for picking up movement, thus having a very short lag time, if one at all. It is on the bottom of the mouse that you can control which, of up to 3 separate devices, that you can use it on. . I really love the fluidity of use, the ability to either use Bluetooth or plug in the receiver and then use it on up to 3 multiple devices versus having to buy one for each workstation. Please be advised that you use the USB receiver if your device has Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or later and that the Bluetooth version will only work on Windows 8, Windows 10 or later.

Let me just say that this mouse is awesome! I've owned it for a little over a year now, and I only need one hand to count how many times I've had to charge it during that time; seriously the battery is that good. I will say that my first week or so, I wasn't a fan of the shape...it made my hand cramp up. I even thought about returning it, but I decided to keep trying it out since so many people rave about the MX series. I'm glad I did, now it just feels super comfortable to use, I've gotten used to it. The scroll wheels both feel top notch and I've programmed the side buttons to my liking so everything is very intuitive. Also, I just recently got a second PC so I've been using the different profile settings a lot more. It allows me to switch from that PC to my laptop seamlessly, and it's been very convenient. That's without mentioning logitech flow, which can be a little hit or miss from my limited experience, but it's still nice to have. All-in-all, this is was one of the best purchases I made in 2020. The MX Master 3 allows me to be more productive, and just generally makes my life easier even when doing light tasks. Definitely gets a recommendation from me.

This is the best mouse I've ever purchased. It feels great to use and I can edit for a long time without feeling any hand fatigue. When you plug it in for the first time, you are prompted to download Logitech software that lets you program custom macros into the mouse's buttons and customize the settings as well. This was super helpful and made it so that I didn't have to spend extra on other macro devices then. I still use this mouse today and will buy another once it stops working.

The button to switch between devices is on the bottom. Lifting the mouse, turning it over is non-productive and the most expensive inconvenience I have purchased.
