I hardly ever listen to my new surround system at top volume, however I have tried it at nearly top volume and it performs very well. The sub woofer is very powerful and clean sounding with virtually no distortion if at all. This system could easily be used as a large living room surround system, but I use it for my Xbox and computer in my office. The multiple surround inputs are very nice and allow for more than 1 surround output. Overall, I absolutely love this system and listen to music and play Xbox on a nearly daily basis with no issues. I would and have recommended this system to my friends and family.
If I had to complain about anything, I would say that although the speakers can be mounted to the wall via their bases, you cannot turn them very well. There's basically 2 positions for the speakers to point; up or away from the wall. If you want a bit more control over where the speakers point, you would need to purchase little shelves or figure out some kind of custom mounting system. This is a small issue though.
The price is a bit steep, but if you listen to the system, you would be able to tell why right away.

This is an incredible 5.1 system! I was lucky enough to buy one last week when BestBuy.com had it for $250 (!). Currently connected to a home theater PC through a $6 Toslink (S/PDIF) optical cable. I LOVE the fact that you don't need a bulky receiver, that is a huge plus for me. Everything is contained in the small control unit (about the same size as one of the satellites) which has a full-function remote. Also, the speakers connect with normal 12-gage wire so you can extend the range if you need to, a feature you NEVER see in a PC-geared sound system. DVD and Bluray Dolby Pro-Logic II bring movie watching to a whole new level. I'm also a huge music person and the clarity is phenomenal. Even at $400, it's the best deal out there.

Some of the best Speakers I have ever listened to. Fantastic for the price and rivals some of the speakers in Home Theater for the same price plus some. If you want a rocking system this is the one to go with. 5.1 THX Dolby Digital and DTS Sound. Heck yea.

Sound is great, really great!. After 5-6 years of use, the Fuse went out. Only problem is the fuse it uses is impossible to find. So if it burns up after the warranty goes out, you are out of luck and have a $400 box of trash. T4AL-125V (4A - slow blow). 250V types of the fuse do not work. The Sub woofer could be used as a nice footstool.
