I tried. Really, I did. But at some point, you just realize that the company doesn't care at all about service or support, so I returned my camera and bought a competing brand.
Emailing them gets no reply. Setting up a support ticket online gets you a "ticket number" but nobody ever contacts you back to help. Calling the 888 number on their website gets you a message to call an 877 number, which gets you endless recordings of the limitations of their warranty, but no time estimate for when you'll finally get to speak to a rep.
I ran up a whole bunch of my cell plans minutes on hold and finally gave up, ripped the camera off my wall, put it back in the box and drove back to the mall to return it and buy a different brand.
I'm a patient guy, but even I have my limits for how often a company can take my money and then flip me the virtual bird when I need to ask a simple question. Bye bye, Lorex. Never coming back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It will not work with a Mac

I attempted the simplest thing, powered and hooked it to my router (no wifi, no password). I was able to log in camera web interface. However, i could not watch the live video on my Mac because it clearly told me it required (the windows technology) ActiveX!
I have a similar camera (D-link), and it works fine on Mac (via Java). Also, it does not need any special software for live snapshots (as opposed to live video), just refresh the browser.
I am saying that b/c I was hoping to get at least live snapshots. However, this is not possible.
Finally, I could not find any Mac support on their site despite the quick set up guide saying otherwise.
