Customers consistently note the Mac mini's M1 chip, performance, and price as positive aspects. They appreciate its compact size, easy setup, and quiet operation. However, some users express concerns about the limited storage, number of ports, compatibility issues with certain applications, and the 8GB memory being insufficient for their needs.

All in all, it is a great fast machine. I use it for photo editing and seems to be able to keep up as well as my RTX 2080 machine, at least in photo editing.
Great for browsing content and Apple silicon applications!
The good:
+ It's fast and snappy
+ MacOS Big Sur is a joy to use (IMHO)
+ You can photo edit
+ Legacy Applications work! I am even able to get homebrew working using Rosetta 2
+ Super fast on time when sleeping
+ Able to host an iMessage Server to have it on my Android device
Some things I wasn't to fond of was:
- I really wish the 16GB model was here. 8GB isn't enough
- Although Rosetta 2 is great with the Legacy Intel Applications, they sometimes will freeze (only have happened 3 times in 3 weeks of everyday use) and use a lot more memory compared to the Apple Silicon apps.
- Bluetooth connectivity to my keyboard and trackpad will sometimes disconnect. But not enough to where I am annoyed, but should be mentioned.
I would recommend it. I think to, most of these issues are just small bugs that will hopefully be fixed in upcoming updates.

My at-home office has two desks; one for my WFH setup with a Windows laptop and two monitors, and a second with my aging 27” iMac. The Mac needed to be replaced but wanted to eliminate the second desk. I decided to try using a Mac Mini on my WFH desk to leverage the existing two WFH monitors without taking up much space. I debated getting a 16GB version, but I decided that my personal use didn’t need to drive as many pixels as a gamer or an influencer so it ultimate chose the 8GB version. Setup was a breeze and all of my Time Machine information from my external hard drive transferred to the new Mac Mini seamlessly. The Mac Mini is super fast. My only complaint so far is that the built-in speaker is very weak. However, I can use AirPlay to send the sound to the HomePod Mini that is on my WFH desk.

I am very happy with the new Mini Mac 2020! Bought my own keyboard and monitor for long term investment without spending extra money for future upgrades. This Mac is powerful and affordable. Probably the best value for your money if you want a Mac computer for home use.

Very happy that I went with a mini. Everything has worked perfectly the M1 chip worked better than I expected. It does have a few glitches but nothing that makes me regret the purchase.

Awesome computer for daily tasks and browsing. Tough to get things that aren't apple to work like external drives, specifically when migrating data but other than that pretty good value for apple here.

I want a Mac desktop that won't cost a lot of money, the M1 Mac mini is the best thing out there for iOS app developers.
Most affordable of Apple's new crop of Macs, and delivers huge value for the affordable price.

Bought this as a replacement for my other imac that lasted a little a decade (if i can get anywhere close to that with this one, I'll be happy). I use it primarily for recording/editing/listening to music. My only regret is not going for more memory and storage space but other than that, its been great. You can add external drives for more space but you cannot upgrade the RAM so keep that in mind.

If you are looking for a fast computer at an affordable price, look no further. This computer is amazing, everything app opens instantaneously. I thought that I would probably need more ram, boy was I surprised. Apple really hit it out of the park with their M1 chip. 8gb of Rams is more than enough memory. They only quirk I see in this computer is the HD size. For that you have a fix, you can always use an external hard drive or a NAS. With that your problem will be solved and you will never run out of space on your Mac mini M1

Great bang for your buck! The new M1 chip really is incredibly powerful. Set up is very easy; however you will need to additionally purchase a keyboard, mouse and monitor (if you don't already have one). If you already have an apple computer that you are upgrading from the transition is very easy and seamless. You can copy everything from your old Mac to this one very easily and quickly.
This computer never has gotten to hot with with everything I've thrown at it, nor has it ever gotten loud. It runs incredibly quietly.
If you want an exceptional Mac desktop (also very easily portable), with the new M1 chip, small footprint, and an incredible low price than this computer is certainly for you.
Even at just 8gb of ram the new M1 chip makes all the difference and you will not experience any lag while working with multiple programs and windows open.

This is a solid entry level Apple desktop option if you already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse laying around. I got it to save wear and tear on my Apple MacBook Pro. I use it as a work computer - web browsing, MS Word & Excel, Zoom, etc. and at that level it's really good.
The much lauded M1 chip is faster I guess. I'm not noticing that it is markedly faster than the Intel i5 in my MacBook Pro. That said - I'm using almost exclusively legacy apps for work. I.E. Programs not designed to run specifically on Apple silicon so maybe I'm missing something here.
I find that I'm still getting low memory warnings if I have too many google table open (drive, google docs, g-chat, etc.). Google apps are notorious memory hogs but I was still disappointed to be getting these warnings on a new Mac mini. Moral of the story - if you're gonna have a gazillion tabs open and work a lot in the google ecosystem, you may want to opt for the 16gb memory option.
I have dual 1080p Samsung monitors hooked up to it and the display is great. The mini can support up to 4k 60hz displays but I simply don't need that quality of resolution for a work computer.
Overall - I'm satisfied with my purchase. I wish it handled the heavy lifting of having a gazillion tabs and apps open better but it's not a deal breaker. If you are looking for an affordable Apple desk top and already have all the peripherals this is a great choice. Also good for someone wanting to dip their toe into the Apple ecosystem without spending a fortune. Possibly the - literally - coolest thing about this computer is that it's all solid state....no moving parts....so there's absolutely no noise and it doesn't generate any heat.
Be aware that it only has 2 USB A, 2 USB C, 1 HDMI & Ethernet ports. If you have a ton of peripherals you'll need a dock or adapter.

I am thrilled with the price and the speed of my new Mac Mini with the M1 processor. This computer preforms better than I expected and I love that it barely uses any space on my desk. This Mac Mini is just as good as my MacBook Pro.

Wonderful!
That's the only way I can describe the Mac mini I recently purchased from Best Buy.
Just excellent in every way.
I have been using a 2015 iMac and it was getting slower and more unresponsive every year.
I had been waiting for a 27" iMac with the M1 chip for over a year and with no certain release of it I just didn't want to wait any longer.
But what option would I have to get the M1 chip and a 27" monitor?
I had heard about the Mac mini for years -- but figured it was an entry level computer for simple tasks only.
But in researching the mini I found that was completely not the case.
The reviews and YouTube videos about the Mac mini I looked at were promising but there were a few criticisms that nagged at me.
Nevertheless, I went ahead and bought the computer anyway and although its been just a few days everything runs like a dream.
The speed and quickness of app response is markedly beyond what I had been hoping for.
Bluetooth works flawlessly for both the Apple Magic keyboard and Magic Mouse.
I upgraded a 3D app I have used for years, SketchUp, which had been also been getting increasingly buggier on the old iMac.
SketchUp now runs like a gazelle with no glitches or crashes.
I purchased a Dell 27" 4K monitor for the new layout and it also pairs beautifully with the Mini mac.
The M1 chip is all that reviewers have said it is which makes me happy as I have been a loyal Apple user since 1997.

I just upgrade to this M1 Mac mini from a 2012 i7 Mac Mini. What an amazing difference in performance. This machine runs cool an quiet. It takes on all the photo and video editing I can throw at it. The only downside and thing I miss the most is the ability to upgrade memory and storage. The 8Gb memory is a little light. 16Gb should be the minimum now a days.
The ability to use my Dual 4K monitors to their full capacity is an exceptional value.
This is well worth the investment and an incredible value.

It's quick, it's small, it's cute, and decluttered my desktop. Even better, it's less expensive than the MacBook Pros that I've had the last few years and used with a Dell monitor. I had avoided the mini till the new A1 chip because I feared loss of control. I had to use wired mouse and keyboard to set up but after that it was simple. The MacMini performs all functions fast and reliably.
