Almost every year Madden gets better and better. Included in this years title, there were two new game modes: fantasy challenge and a game mode to improve your skills. I was really excited to play fantasy challenge and it was worth the excitement. In this game mode you have the option to pick you favorite team and either have a mini fantasy draft, or use the current roster. For a long story short...this gamemode is worth playing as soon you get the game..(unless you want to continue superstar mode). The game mode to improve your skills is 100 times better than regular, boring practice. If you are new to the game or just want to get better, the rushing drill will shurley tune your skills in that area the most. Unfortunately I did not get to play this game alot. This is now a warning to Potential Madden Buyers for the PS2 and has the older PS2 model (bulky, and the big kind) of the PS2. Madden 08 CRASHED my PS2 (older model). I called Sony Cutomer Support and gave them all the imformation about the game and the PS2. Later they said a few people had called in earlier and said the same thing. They all were playing Madden 08, had the older version of the PS2, and a couple weeks later the system crashed. So all im saying is BEWARE... Besides this, Madden is a great football game besides that the gameplay looks and feel the same. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention that a new feature called player icon helps you identify your key players on the team from the average, helps you indentify the men from the boys, the elite from the scrubs.... well you get the point! Use this to know player's strengths and weakenesses. There are also BRAND NEW teams to unlock. Theese include the Decievers...a team who cheats to get an advantage and sometimes they could go for it on 5th down! (yes I mean 5th down!), and there are other teams with special advantages but Im not going to give that away. Overall, Madden 2008 is a great game to buy. It is a much better buy than All Pro Football 2008. But staying on topic you should really get this game.

I've been playing Madden since the early 90's, so it really wasn't a stretch to think that I would buy Madden '08 when it came out. I will admit, this ritual has lost some luster for me over the years. If you caught me five years ago I would have been camping outside the store at midnight, but now I'm a bit less enthusiastic. Maybe I'm just getting older. The game itself is as solid as ever. If it ain't broke, don't fix it and Madden is certainly good at that. Over the years they have experimented with all aspects of the game and they have kept the good and tossed the bad. Fine tuning for so many years has created an outstanding game year to year and '08 is no exception. They have many excellent game modes, including some new ones this year that allow you to control your create a charatcer deeper into the game than ever before. Since my forte is the Franchise mode, I'll focus mainly on that. The 30 year Madden franchise mode is maybe one of the top 5 inventions of my generation. It's incredibly detailed and addicting and if you know football, it makes it all the more impressive. One of the best additions to this years Franchise mode is the ability in the offseason to have two shots at Free Agents, once before the NFL draft and once after. So if you don't get the linebacker you were hoping for in the draft, you can pick up a stopgap in the free agent pool. A lot of times drafting a younger player allows teams to cut a high priced veteran. I welcome those veterans and round out my squad. The trading is a lot more fair and the game just has that sense that you're playing someone as opposed to a machine that you can manipulate and take advantage of. All in all Madden is what it's always been, tremendous.

Madden 08 is a wonderful and fun game to play. Madden has tons of new and fun features to choose from, The all new fantasy chalendge lets you creath a rookie, or choose a rookie from the 2007 draft. You can make him a legend and have fun doing it. The graphics of 08 are really well done. it doesn't look like a video game sometimes. It looks so real. The game play is also better than in the past. Its much more smoother and realistic. The only bad thing about the game is the season mode. Its just like last year. If you were to get any game to play, get Madden 08! I did and I'm not disapointed!!!

The Madden series continues to amaze me... Each year I think to myself, "can this next Madden really be that much better then the last?" And each time, the answer is yes! Madden 08 supplies us with the football gameplay we all have grown to love. Now we new features such as a the Superstar mode, I find it hard to run out of new things to do in this game. The graphics are, as usual, very nice, and the gameplay is quite smooth. It only makes me wonder, what will they do next year? Im sure they wont let us down then either. Buy Madden 08, you wont be disappointed.

I love the madden games they just get better and better each year. there is always something new to look forward to for the next year. this year they didnt really add any new features. they even got ride of the NFLstreet moves. over all i still love this game.

Madden '08 for Playstation 2 failed to impress me. Don't get me wrong its a good game, but it is almost identical to '07. The biggest difference is the rosters, but if that really bothers you, you could just upgrade the rosters on '07. I think, that with ps3 out, they just arent putting as much effort into the ps2 games. So, I wouldn't recommend buying this. I just don't see it as worth spending so much money on. If anything, you should probably upgrade systems because they will just continue to make lackluster games for the now outdated system.

this game is better then i thought it would be the tackles are great and the new hit stick is cool so i give this game 4 stars

This is a must buy if you love football. I love the new features of the superstar, franchise, and the fantasy challenge.

This is by far the best madden game I have ever played. The things I like the most are the drills and how you can highlight a reciever to keep an eye on him and double team him if you have to, also the graphics are almost real and I think they are a little better then last years game 07. The Hit stick is also so cool and watching the hits on the replays is the best. THIS GAME IS THE COOLEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You wont be disappointed if you are a Madden Fan.

I love Madden 08. I mean I got everything I expected from the game and it is one of the funniest maddens yet. The one thing I love the most is the superstar mode i mean they made that so much funner and now you can choose to get drafted by your favorite team or you could choose not to but all around this game is diffently worth the cost!

Its a great game and worth the money. Has a good selection of plays and plays that you can create yourself. The only bad thing is that when you go into Hall of Fame mode you do not have the choice of selecting your own plays. The franchise mode is greta though. A great game defintly worth the money!

Thanks to the PS3 and Xbox 360, I feel like this year's Madden is a clear sign that EA Sports is no longer innovating with Madden on the Ps2. While I understand the graphics and sound capabilities are limited, as a 5 year fan of the Madden franchise, I'm dissapointed with the lack of innovative gameplay/game mode updates each year. The new player "weapon" label is nice, but no real update to neither the Franchise mode nor the Superstar mode is dissapointing. To me, this basically feels like Madden 07 on the PS2 with updated rosters and one or two tweaks.

the game is fun. They could have made a few more updates and made some new features/changes to superstar mode. Madden has been good at making it different each year but the only real difference this year is roster updates

Another amazing game in the long line of EA madden games. If you love football, you will love madden. Represent your favorite team as you dominate your division rivals. For me, the learning curve on this game wasnt big at all because I have been playing the madden series forever. So the only disadvantage of the game would be the difficulty for beginners to learn some of some of the features. Overall the game is so sweet, giving you the ability to control blockers, audibles, make one handed catches, a new highlight stick, and a hit stick. the hout routes, smart routes are still part of the game. There is also qb precision cone and playmaker routes during the middle of a play. The joystick is used for kicking as well, which is awesome. Franchise mode lets you draft all your favorite stars as you try to build a powerhouse franchise. Go get it. its sweet!

For the PS2 platform, I was very happy with the game. It plays very well and the controls are sharp. Plays more like Madden 2006 (Which was better than '07 for PS2). Game play is fast and play is realistic.

Best sports game on playstation 2. Another great job by EA. Would recommend to any football lover.

this game is a great game much better than all the other madden games the franchise is deeper the graphics are awesome

Up until last week, Madden 05 was the most recent version of Madden football in my collection. My how things have changed in three years. Madden 08 is more lifelike, more intense and a blast to play...and this is the PS2 version. There are tons of options on this game, yet it can still be enjoyed by a novice football playcaller or a skilled veteran of the game.
