Customers commend the Compact Action Smart 61" Tripod for its sturdiness, lightweight design, and affordability, finding it ideal for travel due to its compact size and compatibility with various devices. However, some users experienced challenges with the panning feature, the lack of a built-in level, and the phone holder's stability. Concerns were also raised regarding the tripod head's maneuverability and the reliability of the locking mechanism.

Bought this over 2 years ago and it’s still going strong. It was an open box one so the bottom section of one leg only goes most of the way in. Leaves maybe half an inch out, otherwise no complaints. Still as easy to set up as Day 1. There’s been no issues with any of the screws or ligaments. It’s fallen a few times but has no wear to show for it. Fits in a bigger book bag or most standard-sized suitcases, which has come in handy for travel.
I highly recommend it if you’re in the market for one.

Let me start by saying there is one main reason I got this tripod over others that Manfrotto makes, I like this brand. But the reason I got this exact one is because of the way that the legs extend, its not twist tighten where you have to screw the piece on the legs over and over to adjust its just a simple click open and close to set up or take down!
- Build Quality - This is a great tripod and works very well for the reason I got it. Now that being said its not the most heavy duty tripod out there but I got this for mobility and to still be sturdy. Along with the speed of those clips for adjusting the legs in and out! So far its good and I like the way that they set up the mount so it's easy on and off with which ever device you're using. The adjustable moving head with twist knob and handle may take a moment to get use to but is still good quality.
- Use and ability - This thing does what I want its a quick release leg system. The height for just about anything is there and you can go one step over the legs if you need to move up and down its got a bar set up to slide higher, which works and give more height. It is also light enough that I can strap it to the underside off my camera back pack and not really notice it, while still being heavy enough I'm not going to break it or worry about it falling over really. The handle by your camera works well but I will say isn't great for like panning shots, but I don't think its meant for this its just to adjust shooting angles quickly. As I said before the mount to the camera system is great and so quick to get on and off any device!
Theres one other thing the top part that slides up and down actually comes off there so I guess if you wanted that could be used to hold your camera or device with out having it on the tripod?
Thats honestly it for a tripod I think almost anyone will be happy with the quality of this product and I think is should hold up for quite a while! Oh and it comes with the camera clip and you can mount your camera right to the tripod with out getting anything else! thats cool ...
Thanks for reading hope you like this thing if you get it because of my review, I enjoy mine and actually use it about everyday.
** that second photo with my hand in there is just showing you what will screw into the bottom of your camera, device, or that phone mount fo the quick release... if you have never owned one of these before**

We love this tripod for our Production Company. This piece of equipment is perfect for us on quick shoots, in many locations, if we are on the go.
It’s light but sturdy. We have two of these and they are affordable and dependable.

Moved to the islands solo for a year and I wanted to buy a tripod to use with my phone to take pictures. I went to Best Buy in-store to get a feel for the various products they had. This one stood out to me as the ease of use was the best. Each individual leg is adjustable to place on uneven surfaces which is exactly what I needed as I took pictures on sand, rocks, and cliffs. The handle and ball roll along with the attachment for your phone makes swiveling easy. There's a tightening piece at the handle that you can tighten and loosen and overall the tripod is awesome!

This particular one was sold a stripped screw of the part ROUND-PL. This is the compact solid aluminum compact quick release plate. I own another one; needed two for a project. I returned it and told the rep why. I'm not sure that she cared that that particular one was defective. Before you the box for this piece before you buy. Box looked untampered with as if delivered to the store with the defect.

Great! Does what I need it to do. It’s sturdy and sits at a lower height than other tripods typically do which is exactly what I needed. This tripod holds my mirrorless SLR right over the top of my iMac at the perfect height so I can use it as a webcam for virtual work.

This is an awesome tripod for the beginner photographer .. the attachment for the camera mount is the BEST .. let me say that again “ The BEST” why you ask it’s like a giant screw without the little loop handle that never wants to stay down as you screw it on and off .. well they’ve solved the problem.. I literally sold my other tripod to buy 2 of these

I absolutely love this tripod. I gave my first one to my son to use and I missed it so much that after a few months I had to go buy another one for myself!
It gets high, and low, enough for any situation. The piston grip is a dream to work with and allows me to adjust my shots quickly, frequently and easily.
I wouldn't go any other way!

Four Day Tripod

I purchased this tripod to take a photography class in 3 October 2019 it was first used on the 5th and it was useless on the morning of the 8th of October. It is lightweight and easy to carry attached to a camera pack. It is actually too light for use in windy conditions, it will vibrate even in low wind conditions. It has no hook for a sandbag to reduce vibration and to keep the tripod from lifting in high winds or sudden gusts. When adjusting elevation the camera has to be held in place while tightening the locking wheel and it always moves when I let go of the camera after tightening the locking wheel. I had to readjust 2, 3, sometimes 4 times to get the camera positioned correctly. The trigger handle is great but the locking mechanism is weak, it started to fail after three days of use and was completely useless on the fourth day. The head is locked in place, the locking wheel will not move at all. Camera and video camera mode is annoying and a bit confusing. Had to put swivel in video camera mode to turn camera to do a side shot. Had rough time locking head in place. As stated before in other reviews my local BestBuy did not take the tripod back 14 days after purchase. Manfrotto warranty not honored, they said the head was over loaded, the tripod was misused, and not maintained properly. I used it for four days, the camera was removed from the tripod roughly 25-30 times during that four day period and was adjusted 60-70 times. It was dry and the temperature was roughly 32-65 degrees. This tripod is great for people who photograph without having to reset camera position and only use it indoors. Not a product to purchase if your a professional or an outdoors photographer who needs to constantly adjust the head or swivel the camera.

I bought this tripod to fit in my suitcase for a recent trip to New England. Shot pix in Plymouth and Gloucester, MA and Bath and Bar Harbor, Maine. The tripod was easy to set up for each shot and worked very well with my Nikon D300S. Got lots of great shots! ! !

Needed a new tripod. Works fine for the average person. Not what im use to. Fir occasional and small cameras works just fine.
But its no compartison to the $200+ on up for workhorse photography or videography.
Small and light enough to use on hikes without loading you down too much.
So yeah it works for the average person. Fair price for whatvit is. Could buy another if needed in the future.
