amazing sound for cd's, hooked ipod up to it sounds great also. Bought this to replace a Bang and Oulfsen.

The Marantz cd player replaced my 20 year old adcom cd player. While the Adcom was a good player it was showing its age so i took the plunge and purchased the Marantz. Music sounds richer with good separation. Vocals are clear and musical instruments are well defined. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I bought this to connect to my Marantz PM8006. This is a great CD player. It's built like a tank but the sound is exceptional.

Marantz has incorporated all the latest technology in their 6006 D player, and my CDs have never sounded better. The sound on my 7.2 surround system is mind blowing!!!! Anyone who enjoys music should purchase this unit!!!!

Perfect upgrade for the price with audiophile quality. I replaced my CD player from the late 1980s and what a difference! It made my CD collection relevant again and more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

It plays your ordinary classical CDs like you were there in the concert hall. It is more pricey but well worth it!

great machine, sound is incredible from the cd's, can also play my ipod from the usb input on the Marantz.

Not 100% sure yet. I did not notice any sound difference when I upgraded this CD player, from my old 5 Disc, Sony carousel player. In fact, most CD’s sounded very flat, with little life. Will keep experimenting with different configurations ( was using an optical connect to a Marantz receiver.

Had two of them both were bad. First one was bad out of the the box and the other one worked for only ten plays of a cd. Went to get another one and best buy no long sold them.

Great product that does everything you need it to do

I originally bought the 6006 due to the many good reviews. Had it about two years and it has played very well, tho a bit muddy in the middle ranges, and that is with a coax connection to a Rotel 1570. The problem is that it has had to be shipped off for repairs twice. It seems to have a problem finishing CDs. It will get to later tracks and just hang up. Sometimes it would get to parts of later tracks and simply go into a stuttering loop. Just got it back from it’s second repair and it is doing it again. Don’t know how many times and over how many months Matantz will repair the same problem under warranty. Same discs play on a Rotel CD14 and Tascam CD-200SB, so it’s the Marantz deck, not the cds, causing the proble. I’m not likely to buy another Marantz product based on this experience, but the Superscope repair folks are great to work with.
