I bought a record player (Audio Technica) and needed a speaker with Bluetooth. I wanted something for $300 or less and decent size to fit on my home office desk corner. Size is perfect. Price is good. Quality sound. Super easy set up. Everything about this speaker is what I was looking for to complete my experience!

It was time to retire my old Bluetooth speaker in my small workshop. Wasn’t looking for a lot of frills or unnecessary features but wanted something high quality with a good, clean sound. A buddy had an early Marshall speaker and I remembered how big and pure the sound was. Being a guitar player and having Marshall amplifiers this speaker blends in nicely with my amps. It had that “cool” factor. Knobs and switches are durable and the cabinet is stout and sturdy. There are 3 drivers that each have their own amp and the sound is detailed and clean and doesn’t distort much at high volume. Connection took no time at all and the app is a breeze to use as a remote control. Mid and high range are detailed and fluid and the woofer hits frequencies way lower than I was expecting for a driver this size. I didn’t need phone capabilities or useless features but the separate bass and treble allows you to suit your sound to your liking. It also has an aux input and I was feeling analog so I hooked up my phono pre amp and listened to a few records. I truly appreciate the warmth. There are other great speakers out there with more features for less money but if you want emphasis on sound and character and something that will be useable for a long time I highly recommend you consider this.

I purchased this for my wife for Christmas, The Marshall Acton III sounds as good as it looks!! At 15 watts per tweeter and 30 wayts for the subwoofer, this is the loudest Bluetooth speaker i have owned. I'm impressed with the clarity and definition the sound. Next, the speaker is simply beautiful! The design and aesthetics blend in with any decor! One of my best purchases made.

AWESOME speaker truly was not expecting it to be as loud and clear when I first turned it on and tried it out. Even with just bass half way turned up and your volume half way up it’s really insane. This is a must for your home. Has a very classy vintage look about to that I really like

I've had my Acton 3 Bluetooth speaker for about a month now. I love it! I have it in my garage so I can play it during workouts or hangouts. This speaker sounds excellent, especially if you're able to play it LOUD. Also, the design and look of it is so attractive to look at. I did a lot of research before deciding on this speaker and I'm very happy with my decision to purchase it.

Out of the box, Acton III was a breeze to set up. Speaker appeared right away on my phone as I flipped the large power switch, a truly plug-and-play speaker. Have been using the older Acton II Voice consistently since its inception in 2019. Although lacking a voice assistant, the Action III’s sound is noticeably improved compared to the Acton II. This makes sense considering Acton III’s improved frequency response range of 45Hz to 20Khz. On the website, the speaker is marketed to have a “wider soundstage than its predecessor”. This holds true with my experience. This speaker can get LOUD! At max volume, the 30-watt woofer fills my whole house with deep, resonating bass. Dynamic loudness kicks in at higher volumes and adjusts the balance of the sound to keep it sounding excellent. Bluetooth connection reaches across my house, through multiple walls with no issue as well. Subtle visual changes are present with the third generation. Most noticeable being the subdued speaker grill cloth and addition of a track navigation knob. Track selector allows one to play, pause, and switch songs with ease. Those with earlier generations of the Acton speaker will be familiar with the top panel of controls. A 3.5mm input, source indicator and button are on the left. Volume, bass, and treble knobs are centered with red LED indicators from 0-10. Track selector and beefy power switch on the right, all of which resemble Marshall’s retro amps. Another upgrade with the Acton III is the addition of Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and compatibility with Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) Audio. According to the Bluetooth website, Bluetooth LE provides higher quality audio at low data rates. Few devices are currently able to take advantage of this new technology, yet Marshall is paving the way for the next generation of Bluetooth audio. Marshall Bluetooth App allows for fine-tuning of the speaker with bass and treble controls, placement compensation, and firmware updates. Placement compensation asks if the speaker is close to an edge or wall, then corrects for these reflective surfaces to “keep your music sounding great” according to the app. I personally cannot tell a noticeable difference in sound between the options. Speaker shipped with latest firmware from the factory. Designed to reflect classic Marshall amplifiers, the Acton III both looks and sounds incredible while being futureproof for years to come.

I have a few speakers and use them a lot for ambient music while cooking or on the back deck with friends where I want some music but not a 5.1 surround sound club feel... and really I don't need anymore speakers but the Marshall Acton III is just so visually stunning...Rock & Roll Americana and mystique with the classic Marshall box leather look and the "just right colored " gold knobs... and of course that classic "Marshall" font name across the front....I just couldn't walk passed it. I play guitar and the name Marshall really carried some weight with me...I was dying to hear how it sounded. Opened up the box and really love the marketing so cool and sleek...pulled it out and plugged it in and turned it on. The knobs have red checks to show you where the volume is set...just really cool looking...Gorgeous really...It is going to be a conversation piece to be sure at get togethers. Like I said...You walk by it...you stop and take a stare! But has to have the sound right. When I began to pair it, it prompted my phone to get the app....super easy.. I did and it immediately paired seamlessly. BAM! I was off and running. I started with some Queen Bohemian Rhapsody for the treble and highs and I was BLOWN AWAY! its such a dynamic song that will run a speaker through the paces from bass to highs and really lets me get a feel for what I have available to me in a sound profile...JUST AMAZING!!! Felt like Freddy was in the room with me. It was surprising how well balanced the sound was from one speaker!!!! Next was Queen's "Another one Bites the Dust"... That bass line is such a classic and the Acton III did it proud. I decided to run some old school rap...ICE cube's "Check Yo Self" and "It Was a Good Day" and It handled the heavy bass and sounded amazing!!! For the next 2 hours just ran through all my songs...They sounded so amazing!!!!! TOP TIERE SOUND!!!! Like most things...My wife rolled her eyes when I said I got the Marshal Acton III...UNTIL she heard me testing it....She was next to me in a second and wanted to connect her phone... Which was super easy. I pressed the bluetooth button for a few seconds and her phone saw it immediately and she was playing her favorite songs. It's really cool because we are both connected at the same time. I also like that if I have a song playing she cannot interrupt it until I pause what I am playing. Once I pause what I am playing...boom she on it with what ever she wants. Really cool!!! I was hoping that more than two could connect so when I have friends over we could take turns DJ'ing but a las...only two people...Maybe next gen?? The app is cool and very convenient for adjusting the bass and treble and volume when you are away from the speaker... I like to actually turn the knobs...they are velvet smooth and firm enough to micro adjust...butter. When adjusting with the knob the app shows the number and vice versa. The aux in a nice touch...I might try to get a guitar plugged into it one of these days with some adapters to down size the plug! Overall though (despite being the sexiest speaker I have ever seen) the sound is really the winner...It sounds like what you know or would imagine a Marshall speaker would sound....world class! Note: This has the AC plug so consider that if you want to decoratively put on a shelf. That's the only real problem I have ...Where to put this beauty?? Kitchen cabinet? Book shelf in the living room???? I just don't know! Probably why I will buy another one. 5 Stars because I can't give it 6 on here!!! Rock and Roll!

This is my second Marshall Speaker and third product, and I am just as thrilled with it as I was when I received my first Marshall speaker five years ago. Not only does this company design and produce exceptional, functional, and aesthetic looking products, but each one is technologically designed to bridge the gap of yesterday and tomorrow. With the new Acton III Home Bluetooth Speaker, I can still use the original iPod whose 160 GB hard drive is loaded with my CD collection from my youth and college days. All I have to do is simply connect the two through the Aux input, or I can choose to use Bluetooth on the latest model phone or tablet to stream music from a variety of sources. The Bluetooth even connects with my turntable allowing me to hear my old vinyl collection once again, and for the first time hear the sound of the music fill the room with a richness and clarity that perhaps I have not ever heard those tunes delivered in. The speaker is small in size in comparison to older technology, but delivers a dynamic sound that far exceeds something just a few years ago that would have been 10 times larger in size and price. Just like all of my other Marshall products, the Bluetooth paired in an instant even without the app. There are two apps, one that assists with Bluetooth connections and another that allows for the control of several Marshall speakers in various rooms. That app is very nice because it lets you control the volume and sound of each speaker independently. These speakers are built on decades of input from musicians that worked together to build some of the earlier sound recordings equipment and amplifiers. The Marshall trademark design on all products has remained authentic and true to the original products. The logo has been integral to the product from the start and definitely something that I remember from the 1960s and 1970s on amplifiers and speakers at every ‘sock hop’ or dance event. The speaker measures 10.23” x 6.69” x 5.9” and weighs only 6.28 lbs. It comes in the iconic black color, or two other choices of either cream or brown. The speaker and mains electrical lead come in the box and the apps are downloadable from either the Apple or Google stores. The speaker has a frequency range of 45-20,000 Hz with a maximum sound pressure of 95 dB @ 1 m. Within the speaker box itself is one 30-Watt Class D amplifier for the woofer and two 15-Watt Class D amplifiers for the tweeters. On the top, just as the original amplifier designs, there are analogue controls for volume, base, and treble. Other controls include a Power toggle switch, a source button for either Bluetooth or Aux use and a button that allows you to skip back or move forward. Through these controls and the use of the app, customizing sound can be continuous if desired. With the coupling feature on the app, you can set up two speakers to act as one. I plan to purchase a second speaker to do just this. I couldn’t be more pleased with this speaker and how it fits on the bookshelf as an integral component to my audio setup. I recommend it if you need a light bookshelf or semi-portable Bluetooth speaker with a dynamite sound. This would be a choice that is hard to beat in terms of looks, quality, sound, and price.
