I love the looks of this speaker far beyond most Bluetooth or powered speakers. Build quality is superb. Solid, sturdy. I expect it last. It’s heavy for its size but light enough to easily carry it around. It’s reasonably versatile with both Bluetooth and aux input. I’ve wired it to both my iPhone and FireHD tab as well as Bluetooth and it performs flawlessly.
Most importantly it sounds fantastic. This is audiophile grade sound quality. The separate treble and bass controls legitimately alter the sound without ruining it. The Kilburn has genuine bass and crisp highs without being loose or boomy or too bright. In a small to medium room it will sound like a full blown high-end audio system. Files that may sound like crap on your phone will be dramatically improved. Plus it goes loud. Be sure to keep the volume on your source maxed or nearly maxed for high volume.
Complaints are minor and picky. It gets loud, much louder than most portable speakers, and without breaking up or distorting. However, I still wish it went louder. I also wish it had a solid level of weather/water resistance like the new Kilburn II has. I feel any portable speaker around $200 or higher should do so.
That said im thrilled with this speaker and highly recommend it.

I love this marshall kilburn. It listened to many different wireless speakers in store but the quality of sound, in my opinion, was better than the other brands on the shelf. I've had mine for roughly 2 months now and the battery life is still going strong. I have to say I am very impressed with the product.

I've been eyeing this speaker for about 5 months. I finally bought it and do not regret it. Volume, sound quality and battery life is really good. I get compliments every time I take it somewhere. I got it on sale for $249.

Needed something for light tailgating and this filled the bill. Battery Has lasted several hours at full volume with no problem. Sounds better than cheaper alternatives. Only Wish the Stanmore had battery capability, would have paid for the upgrade.

What sound! I guess that's what one might expect out of a $250 Bluetooth speaker. It connects immediately on Bluetooth. Just easy to use. Runs hours on battery, and it just looks great.

After research and buying another speaker, I'm very pleased with this. The bass response and volume are more than enough. I also like the design being so similar to their guitar amps.

Love the retro design! Excellent sound! Distance range quality for blue tooth is great. Can take phone or tablet outside for a long distance leaving the speaker inside. Would like to see additional volume.

This portable speaker lives up to the Marshall name and legacy. I own 3 different sizes in this Marshall line and I think the Kilburn might be my favorite. There are 3 different ways to connect—Bluetooth, RCA, and mini cord for MP3 players etc. This speaker will surprise you with its gutsy sound and you can unplug it and run off its battery pack.

I love this speaker for its look and has a pretty good sound for a small area. The handle makes it easy to take with you to the beach or the lake but it is a little heavy and bulky.

Love the clarity of the sound. Not quite as loud as i wanted. Long lasting battery played over 10 hours on charge. Even in another room sounds like it is in room.

The sound is great, it's also loud as I can hear it clearly in my shop over the power tools I'm using, even through the hearing protection. The charge hold for a good long time too. I've been using it almost daily and I've had no problems at all.

Love it! Deep base, knobs directly on top to adjust treble, base, and volume. The workmanship is second to none and the Bluetooth connects every time. I've owned Bose and Beats in the past and the Marshall blows them away. I just wish they made the larger versions portable with the strap otherwise I would have gone bigger. Overall though, this one puts out huge sound so you may not need anything bigger.

Let's get this out of the way--the style of the Marshall is either a love-it or hate-it affair. If you're keen to the Marshall amp motif or have live music in your blood, the physical appearance of this speaker should fit your needs; and let's face it, style points typically do count for purchases like these. In this case, you really do get something special beyond the spate of all-plastic futuristic-looking cylinders, boxes, spheres and pillboxes that seem to typify most Bluetooth speakers today.
But how does it perform? I've got the Bose SoundLink Mini and Klipsch KMC-3 and KMC-1 Bluetooth speakers at home and work for comparison. Say what you will about Bose, but they DO know how to squeeze an amazing amount of sound out of tiny enclosures. Does the Marshall do better than the Bose at filling a room with a pleasant, snappy, punchy sound--well, sure it does, but it's got acres more driver and juice in the amp to do so; as such, it's hardly surprising that the Marshall seems to be able to fill larger spaces without sounding as strained as the Bose starts to at higher volumes. But would you be unhappy with the Bose over the Marshall, not at all--especially if a small form factor was your goal.
The Klipsch KMC series speakers are no slouches either--I'd put sound quality of the KMC-1 below the Bose, but the KMC-3 above them both in terms of liveliness and punch and ability to fill medium to larger rooms with less effort. The KMC-3 is probably the most direct competitor to the Marshall in terms of size and total output capability. So how do those two stack up...honestly, it's a bit of a toss-up. The Marshall probably sounds a tad more "full bodied" at louder volumes, but each seems to resolve vocals and instruments with equal aplomb. Both the Klipsch and Marshall lines support the aptX Bluetooth codec so overall sound quality is maybe just a hair more refined/revealing on the Klipsch KMC-3 and Marshall speakers than the Bose. Personally, I kind of prefer the Marshall's actual knobs and switches to either the Klipsch or Bose touch-sensitive panels or soft membrane buttons--but again, that's more a matter of personal taste though. I did find that Bluetooth pairing was much easier with the Marshall and Bose than the Klispch units.
All that said, frankly, critical listening comparisons and flowery descriptions of a single-speaker system using a Bluetooth connection to listen to streaming audio or even high quality MP3 files isn't necessarily a "high fidelity" experience in the first place. Others may disagree, but I find you can't really talk in depth about, or expect to talk about, all those things/terms you read about in stereo magazines and hifi websites with any real authority--transparency this, imaging that, transient highs...blah blah blah. Not that those things aren't legitimate issues to talk about, but music consumption/listening is so subjective anyway; you're likely going to hear something completely different than I would even when listening to the exact same setup.
Sure, some speakers might empirically sound like the bass is a bit "muddy" or "over-emphasized" or the highs a little "too bright" or maybe "de-emphasized" and that might all be part of the unit’s “signature sound”. For the Marshall, it’s not as easy to pin that signature down, and a big part of that is being able to adjust both bass and treble to your liking with the Marshall's adjustment knobs...you can do neither with the Klispch or Bose units. In my book, that alone makes the Marshall slightly more versatile than any of the other units…again, at least in my opinion. In the end...no, the Marshall is no substitute for a great set of bookshelf speakers and a fantastic amp, but that's not what it's designed for in the first place. All that said, the Marshall has a heck of a lot going for it…would I recommend the Marshall—absolutely, it kicks butt!

This bluetooth speaker is fabulous. It has a great sound with nice bass and it can blow other bluetooth speakers away in terms of volume. It's built very sturdy (a mini Marshall amp) and the strap adds a nice touch. We've had many bluetooth speakers but this is by far our favorite. The only downside is it's heavy - but that doesn't deter us from carrying it around.

My wife got it for yoga. I got it for around the house and camping.
It has plenty of sound. Nice sound low to high. The bass/treble knobs are a big bonus, in my opinion. The battery has never been an issue. A little big in size and maybe a little bit more than what you wanted to spend, but you can not go wrong if you're shopping anywhere in the +/- $100 range.

Retro style, best Bluetooth connection with my dell 2&1 laptop, others wouldn't pair properly or voice would be out of sync with video. Marshall has worked well with my device. Plus the sound for the size is incredible, awesome bass, great mids and lows as well. Very well balanced. Battery life is average but I usually keep mine plugged in all the time.
