The sound quality of this speaker is amazing! It looks cool in my living space as well. Wasn't sure how much I would like it when I first purchased, but I want to buy another for my other room now!! Technology/app and connectivity could be better, but anyone with general knowledge of bluetooth or wifi pairing should be able to figure it out.

I love the ability to control this unit using my IPhone. Sound quality is not bad, i feel for the size the sound could be warmer. I have a Bose mini that is not to far behind in sound quality so this is what I am basing the sound quality off of. I do wish it had a on off switch. I use this at work in a three bay auto work shop and it fills the room. All in all not a bad unit

I wanted this for myself for Christmas but I waited until it went on sale. The sound quality is what I was looking for. I have Alexa speaker products and the sound is ok. The Marshall blows them away. Oh and it can control Alexa devices too.

Music quality is decent, considering I bought it when it was on sale for 199.99. However, I bought a partly because of the Alexa assistant. Over two weeks of use, I feel that Alexa doesn’t respond really well (comparing to my Echo Dot). It sometimes doesn’t respond when there’s other noise going around in the room. I have to mute everything to make sure it is able to hear me.

A little bit of time to get this connected to your WiFi and/or Alexa etc. . . But the sound of this thing is just superb. It offers full, loud sound... excellent clarity lows through highs. Seriously, you won't regret this purchase,

I have to admit I am really torn on this one. On the upside, this is the best sounding bluetooth speaker I have ever heard, hands down. Just spectacular sound quality from such a little cabinet, with amazingly smooth and deep bass and ultra clean and balanced overall sound. Unfortunately it is crippled in some respects by a failed attempt to add Amazon Alexa functionality -- which is almost worthless in my view . Since this thing carries a hefty premium over the previous generation non-Alexa speaker, with near identical tech specs, you would be well advised to buy that one instead of this one. That model is cheaper and has an extra input for an optical connection that this one lacks. There is no USB input on either one, which seems incredibly dumb for a device such as this one. That said, if sound quality is your main consideration, the Marshall Stanmore II Voice is a stellar performer. This is about as good as it gets in package this small. You can connect four ways, Bluetooth, wi-fi, stereo RCA jacks and an auxiliary cable. Wi-fi (which is a bit difficult to get working because of the awful app, required for setup) gives you direct access to all the usual streaming services and Amazon Music, since it is an Alexa device. That's a good thing. Music quality varies depending on the source, with direct aux and RCA inputs being the best, wi-fi second and bluetooth third. But they all sound pretty darn good thanks a superbly designed amp and speaker package. Marshall apparently achieves the super clean, well-balanced sound with three (count em, three) amplifiers. A massive 50 watter for the front firing woofer (some of the smoothest bass I have ever heard) and two discrete 15 watt amps for the two smaller main speakers. Those are each less than an inch across, which makes it even more amazing they can produce such full, rich sound. It IS stereo but you would be hard pressed to tell since the main speakers are only inches apart. The look of this speaker is pretty terrific too, especially is you are fan of Marshall, which built the big amps and speaker cabinets used by nearly every legendary rock group there ever was. The Stanmore II Voice shares that simple basic design. Black textured case (also available in white), salt and pepper grill. Distinctive Marshall script on the front. Gold tone control panel with simple black and silver knobs. Very classy and a very sturdy build. About 10 pounds. Nothing fancy going on here, unless you want to count the little red LEDs that light up as you change the settings on volume, bass and treble. You can make them brighter or dimmer with the app. There are also a couple of simple buttons for changing the input source (wi-fi,bluetooth, RCA or aux) and pausing or skipping songs. Now on to the not so great stuff. Pity poor Alexa. She seems a bit schizophrenic here, especially if you have any other Alexa devices within earshot. Sometimes there there is a HUGE lag between the time you say "Alexa" and when the speaker is able to actually respond to commands. When that occurs, other Alexa devices are likely to jump in first, muting the Alexa in the speaker and making it impossible to play the music you want on that speaker. Other times, the opposite happens and the speaker locks out all other Alexa devices, even those that are much closer to your voice. When that happens, the Alexa in the speaker often cannot clearly hear what you are saying because you are so far away and can't carry out the proper command. The only way I could get Marshall Stanmore II Voice to reliably work with Alexa was to turn off the microphones on all the other nearby Alexa devices -- so ONLY this speaker could respond. It does work then, allbet haltingly. And despite advertising to the contrary, no it does not hear you anymore once music is playing. (If you want to say something like turn it up or skip to the next song). Alexa is deaf as a post at that point, unless you are really close. Multiple Alexa devices on the same network also seem to confuse this speaker and sometimes causes it lock up completely, at least in terms of Alexa functionality. Unplug to reboot. I never could get the whole multi room music thing to work either. This whole Alexa thing may have seemed like a good idea but it wasn't. Don't pay extra for the voice functionality unless this is the ONLY Alexa device you own. As for the Marshall Voice app, that is another loser. It hardly does anything beyond allowing you to setup the device on wi-fi and change the volume. There is an equalizer function with presets for various music genres but I found the Stanmore II Voice sounded best with flat settings -- bass and treble set to halfway. The only other downside to the Stanmore II Voice is that, unlike most bluetooth speakers, it is not at all portable. Since all those big amps draw a lot of power, this is AC only. No battery. The speaker must be plugged into the wall at all times. But once you hear it, you may decide that really doesn't matter all that much. In the end, I give it five stars instead of three because the sound quality is most important. And the sound quality is top notch. With better Alexa integration, I probably would have given it five star rating.

The Stanmore II is a very good speaker. The speaker is very light and easy to move outdoors. Not as powerful as the Woburn II but still a very good sound.

As a Christmas present my son received one of the Marshall Bluetooth speakers and we were blown away by the sound and how it filled a room. Fast forward a year or two and Marshall introduces their Bluetooth speaker with Alexa. I've got a few home assistants powered by Google, Alexa and Cortana. I use none of them now because, as a sound device they just aren't up to par. Yeah, they are great home assistants, sort of. I didn't have much luck with the Cortana device. The Google device is pretty intuitive since I have an Android phone but Amazon nailed it with the broad uses of Alexa powered devices. The new Marshall Stanmore II Voice nails everything that I wanted in a home assistant device and the sound quality is freakin amazing. I get all of my typical Alexa usability and add room filling high quality sound which is especially nice when tapping into my Amazon Music Library. I love the multiple inputs of this speaker. There are two auxillary jacks (RCA and 1/8" plug), Bluetooth, and Wifi. You can control the speaker wirelessly with the Marshall Voice app on your smartphone or by talking to Alexa or you can plug into an auxilary jack directly with your player. The top of the speaker has 3 dials: volume, bass and treble. There is also a play/pause button and a microphone on/mute button. The Marshall Voice app even allows you fine tune the sound with either pre-set EQ settings or you can customize to your own taste. One of the upcoming features will be to set up a multi-room sounds system using Alexa, either playing the same content or separate. I'm looking forward to this feature which would rival similar systems. The speaker is beautiful if you love the Marshall amp look. It's small enough to fit on a bookshelf or even stick on your computer desk and use as a computer speaker via one of the aux jacks. Multi-use, multi-faceted, While the price is higher than other home assistants you do gain sound quality and this speaker could easily replace a room stereo. I can't waith for the mutli-room sound system capabilities.
