I went into Best Buy to look at B&W bookshelf speakers and the sales person also had me audition the Martin Logan's. These did sound good in store, but the real test was when I took them home. They have a 5 ohm impedance, so first question was whether my vintage amp would be able to sufficiently drive them and what they would sound like in my room.
No issues driving them with my 55 watt integrated amp. Sound was amazing for a bookshelf speaker, much better than a smaller pair of Klipsch I had originally tested my setup with. The sound is clear and crisp, especially for string instruments. I listen to a variety of music and these don't disappoint. Now I wasn't expecting much bass given it's a bookshelf, but it's fairly decent, which is nice since I'm not planning to add a subwoofer.
I would definitely recommend Martin Logan's and these I feel, are a much better value than the B&W's.

I have a 2-channel audio system in my bedroom and I listen to streamed music on a tablet and sent to an NAD 3020 amplifier via Bluetooth and also a CD player connected via digital coaxial output to the NAD. The previous speakers were Cambridge Soundworks bookshelf type and I felt they were a bit dull, dry, lifeless etc. I opted for the Martin Logan based on their more vibrant and lively sound and as I attribute to their Folded Motion tweeter.
Another favorable aspect of this speaker is its high sensitivity and since in my case when considering that my amplifier is rated for 30 watts per channel. For a bookshelf speaker this size I didn't expect deep low end extension so as I had with my Cambridge Soundworks speakers, I augment the Martin Logans with a subwoofer. All I had to do was turn the low pass point up a bit on the subwoofer as the Cambridge Soundworks went a little lower since it's mid/bass driver is larger.
All that tech-talk aside, I love the sound and presentation of these Martin Logan speakers. I do like a more open and lively presentation as opposed to most audiophiles who seem to favor "neutral". The upper frequencies sparkle and are detailed without being bright.

Super sounding speakers. I added four of these to my home theater system replacing some older mini sized Def Tech speakers. The clearance prices was a bonus. I also added two floor speakers that were also clearances priced. Now I can hear things that I never heard from my old speakers. They also sound amazing for music.

Absolutely it’s a underrated speakers ….. I love the sound quality…. I know sound is relative to individual liking and ears … I compared this to KEF LS50 meta and it outperformed in all aspects , KEF R3 sounded closer to this speaker… but it’s more than double this rate . I like sharp sounds with dynamics and clarity This speaker delivered it perfectly.. Gabriel from Best buy , Frisco Eldorado recommended to pair this with Sonos Amp and sub and believe me it’s the most simplistic and killer combination for the price point … later I also added two Sonos sl as rear end speakers and made surround sound of it … To be frank I don’t have words to explain my experience it wowed me every time .. the sound quality of ML with Sonos amp software capability is something can’t be matched

looking to set up a small listening room and break out the old vinyl, havent gotten a new stereo in ages. my old marantz 2285b is still limping along and the altec model 14s (the wife hates) were just to big for the room.after looking at the floor speakers available best buy paul showed me these martin logan speakers. as I was telling him everything I thought Iknew wrong with such tiny speakers he just grinned and played pink floyd money. i thought some other speakers were playing, these sound amazing. for a bookshelf speaker the bass is good mids and highs are crisp, and overall very clean sounding. yes loud is beautiful if its clean(giving away my age)all in all im very impressed with these mo15i speakers and also very happy. hope the new amp and turntable will be as good finds as these speakers.

Amazing!
I first want to mention a big thank you to.... Best Buy and Magnolia!
The Magnolia salesman was awesome and let me listen to various speakers using music and movies. You cannot get that kind of service or even try a product with online shopping. We need our brick and mortar stores to stay. (So please shop at Brick and Mortar stores.)
Anyway, I went to Magnolia to replace my 25 year old Infinity speakers. Some speakers I listened to, just seem to fill the room with sound.
But, the Martin Logan speakers were spot on with crystal clear clarity and the most natural sounding. The bass is awesome as well. No distortion. Purchased the 40i Motion towers, 15i Bookshelves and a 50x center. What a difference! I listen to both movies and music and again the clarity, natural sound and bass is incredible.
Also, my Denon 3000 series would always run hot and now does not get hot at all, even with action movies at a higher volume. Extremely Pleased.
Again, Thank you Magnolia

I’ve been a stereo speakers enthusiast for like half a century. I’ve heard many over time. Now, I’m not gonna be silly and say these little bookshelves are THE best. That would sound crazy. I mean I have a full size set of Martin Logan’s in my main surround room. But HOLY COW, these little bookshelves, being utilized in a smaller guest bedroom— gotta be Best in this category. Such a rich, clear tone — and a sound that’s exponentially larger than their size. These little speakers are amazing!!

Got these on clearance, sadly didn’t realize they were sold each (bookshelves are usually sold in pairs in my experience) so I got one for like $105 but had to pay $225 for the second one. Still a killer value since retail is about $1000 for the pair. I found out I really like ribbon tweeters.
Love the finish. Love the build quality. Love the ribbon tweeters. Love the sound

These pair of bookshelf speakers do really need to break in before they pour out the real juice. After about 50 hours of playing, the clear clean , details and separation of instruments and vocals becomes noticeable. The vocals just sounds natural. It has good enough bass for small to medium sized rooms with or without subwoofer. It is easy to drive these speakers with low power amps like 30 watts per channel. It has real good sound. I waited for these to go on sale and the sale arrived just right. I'm happy with this purchase.

Love love love these little speakers. They are detailed yet also sort of mellow, could listen to these for hours with getting tired of them. I credit much of that smoothness to the folded motion tweeters. They are exceptional for acoustic music (think "Salt Spring" by the Sonoran Dogs) and for vocals (think Kate Wolf or Emmylou Harris). Will eventually pair with a subwoofer to add back some missing low ends, but am very satisfied with this purchase. Thanks to Paulina at the Tucson Wetmore store for patiently helping me listen to all the alternatives and narrow my selection down to these MartinLogans.

They speakers are amazing. I have spent a lot of time in the magnolia room testing all kinds of bookshelf speakers. It was between these the kef q350s and the bowers and wilkins 606 S2. These by far have the best overall sound stage. The bowers and kefs have little to no mids compared to these. And with a rel tzero mark3 sub it sounds amazing. I use them for vinyl and cd listening as well as streaming from my tv. The mid range on these speakers beat everything out of the wayer and the folded tweeter adds crisp highs without being to harsh which i ran into with the bowers bookshelfs. I highly reccoment these!!

I've been in love with home stereo for over 60 years and have owned many speakers but this is my first Martin Logan and it's really special. All of the accolades about this speaker are true. The look of this speaker in red walnut is elegant and got high praise from my wife too. One of the first CD I played was the DMP sampler A Taste Of DMP. One of the tracks is a piano solo, Pannonica, by Andy LaVerne and it absolutely felt and sounded like the piano was in my room. For those unfamiliar with the DMP catalog they are all magnificent and reference quality.
