The thing I like the most is that it's about a superheroe without any real superpower other than his enhanced senses. It feels real, not fake or fancy. I can't stop watching

A Great Start on Netflix

An impressive start to Marvel's Universe extension on Netflix. Based on Frank Miller's stint on the Daredevil comic book, this is quite possibly the grimmest and grimiest superhero origin ever made. Far away from the Agents of SHIELD PG rated limb on ABC, this is the story of a developing vigilante determined to clean up his town, and the forces against him determined not to let that happen.
Intricate, methodical, with a brilliant cast (Elden Henson's Foggy irritatingly excepted), this is definitely a binge show that will have you running out the string until the very end.
Vincent D'Onofrio not even being nominated for a best supporting Emmy as the Kingpin diminishes the award itself. Having read the comic books growing up, no one could embody the role more brilliantly.
Marvel continues its brilliant hero casting run with Charlie Cox as Daredevil, who seemed to hit all the right notes as we go through the journey to becoming with him. Deborah Ann Woll (who also got an Emmy snub), Scott Glenn and Vondie Curtis-Hall are spectacular in their supporting roles as well.
***CAUTION*** This may be the most graphically violent gory thing I have ever seen, including horror movies. You need to be absolutely sure your kids are far enough along to watch this.
I could quibble at the edges (I hope they refine the costume), but at the end of the day this was brilliant.

Daredevil begins the "Marvel on Netflix" era

Daredevil is an excellent, but gritty and very violent show. This is Marvel showing it's grittier side, which continues in Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.
Matt Murdock is a lawyer blinded by a chemical accident as a child. That accident gave him sonar powers that allow his enhanced senses to "see" more than the average person, yet without conventional sight.
As in the comics, Daredevil is up against the Kingpin (Wilson Fisk), who is trying to take over New York's criminal enterprises as part of a cabal of "non-super" criminals.
Of all the Marvel movies and shows, this is the most "realistic." Aside from the occasional ninja, people with fantastic super powers aren't showing up. Daredevil has enhanced senses and reflexes, but he's not impervious to damage. And he's usually battling evil alone.
The acting and writing is definitely above average. If you're a Marvel fan who doesn't mind extra violence and no capes at all, you'll likely enjoy Daredevil.

Surprising Awesome Netflix Series

After Marvel has pretty much dominated the theaters with their crowd pleasing films, they have set their sights to do likewise on Netflix. I didn't have high hopes for Daredevil since I wasn't a big fan of the Ben Affleck movie, but I must say that Daredevil the Series is my favorite show on Netflix. The action is intense, brutal and exciting and the episodes do not pull any punches in the area of gore. Clearly the makers of this series have been inspired by the ultra intense Raid films and other Asian action film. This is definitely a welcomed surprise that adds to the excitement of watching Matt/Daredevil clean house in New York City. Highly recommended especially for those looking for action and martial arts films.

This series, originally available only by Netflix subscription, is worth seeing and seeing again. This is how a superhero without overwhelming powers should be portrayed. Not everything goes right. Friends are hurt. Emotions boil over. Sometimes, the bad guys seem overpowering. But the undying Daredevil (Matt Murdock) spirit never gives up, even when the flesh screams for relief. The fight scenes, particularly the mob fight in the hallway, are intense and 'beautifully' staged, with particular eye to both consequence and result. Not every victory is absolute, but they are victories. As is this series. Season 2 has been released for streaming, and this makes every argument for binging on it as well.

Barebones Blu-ray, But Still Worth It.

Daredevil Season 1, the Netflix/Marvel sensation, has finally come to blu-ray, but without any semblance of special features. Only the episodes are included in the 4-disc set, but still, they look even better on blu-ray than streaming 4K HD. Also, if you are a Marvel fan, having Daredevil on blu-ray period is a must, regardless of the lack of behind-the-scenes and commentary, but, only if the price is right, and for $26, that's alright.

Netflix's (Marvel) Daredevil series (season 1) blu-ray box set is an excellent series for comic book and non-comic book fans alike! It is well produced series and a real feather-in-the-cap of Netflix and their desire to break into the original programming arena! My first ding on Netflix/abc Studios would be… what took you so long; and where is the box set for season two?! The packaging for this box set (thankfully) comes in the standardized plastic blu-ray case and NOT the cheap, (hard to take out) cardboard sleeves that various box sets are issued in. All that being said, I am also dinging Netflix/abc Studios for the blu-ray trays in this particular instance. For some reason (cheapo cost-cutting measures) Netflix/abc Studios agreed to go somewhat cheap by not including individual blu-ray disc holders for ALL (4) of the discs and instead stack 2 of the discs on top of the other 2! Forcing an overall rating of 4 instead 5. Please Netflix/abc Studios, stop going the cheap route and provide proper packaging to help maintain the quality of the product that you are selling!

Daredevil was a fun character when Marvel launched. Marvel has done a great job of taking real world people with real world problems and giving them the added responsibility of being superheroes. Daredevil is such a great character because despite his disability of being blind he excels on levels that people with all five senses cant. My issue is that the character took a dark turn in the 80's and has since been a brooding Batman esque type of hero. Some will say he's always been like this, I disagree. I will say that I enjoy this series better than the feature film.

When I first began watching this series on Netflix, my expectations were not high but after the first episode I was very impressed by the outstanding production values. The story is very captivating, the acting is very good with great character development. The show is action packed and suspenseful from start to finish. I really like the way Netflix releases a season all at one time so you can watch at your desired pace. I loved the show and purchased this DVD/Blueray edition for a friend who doesn't have access to Netflix. He will love this action packed series!

If you have been following every Marvel movie and Agents of Sheild then you know that this is no different. Connected in the same universe this show brings out the darker side of marvel. This is a must watch hands down and if you don't have Netflix then this is even perfect for you because you get to watch it in high definition

What an incredible series.Sure its low budget, but every dollar was well spent. much gritter and darker than the Daredevil movie of several years ago, this one hits all the right emotional notes as Matt Murdock takes his journey from a sighted child,to a blind teen to a vigilante adult. The iconic costume doesn't appear until the last chapter as his look evolves as much as he does. Very exciting story and stunts make this a must own. Can't wait for Season 2 to be released on DVD.

For Marvel fans this was the opening of a new chapter in there pursuit of entertainment.
The films set the bar.
ABC Marvel entertains but to most doesn't add anything to the legacy.
Here Marvel and Netflix produced something groundbreaking. Something that can only be experienced by watching it.
Whether you want to stream it or buy it physically, just watch it.

I've been a marvel fan ever since the first Iron Man movie and I can tell you now that Marvel has done it again. This show is way more darker and mature than typical Marvel fare and most definitely more structured than the 2003 Ben Affleck feature(although many have said that the director's cut is better). With that being said, this is a terrific show that proves Marvel can do no wrong in one's book.

A grittier Marvel super hero origin story. Spread out over 13 episodes, the origin of Daredevil is explained. With plenty of references to the Marvel Universe from the Chitauri destruction of New York City to his chasing that Greek girl in college (Elektra) it covers lots of the comic's history. More realistic than most comic book shows in that Matt Murdock gets seriously injured.

Daredevil Season One is the first of the Netflix/Marvel television collaborations. Featuring a stellar cast, the show stays pretty faithful to the original comic series. Look for performances by Scott Glenn as Stick, and Vincent D'onofrio as the Kingpin. The storyline is riveting and the martial arts choreography is some of the best I've ever seen on television or in motion pictures.

Ben Affleck may have made some great films with Argo and The Town, but his Daredevil will never be thought of again after this show! Grim, gritty, and with all the right kinda violence, Netflix hit a home run with Daredevil season 1. Charlie Cox is perfect as Matt Murdock and Daredevil. Season 2 was fantastic as well, I hope it doesn't take as long to come out as this one did.

When I heard that Netflix was making a series about Daredevil, I was super excited. Season one was awesome! Then, by season two, rumors are floating around about the possibility of The Punisher being in it. Let's just say that I was pumped for the arrival of this character. I wasn't disappointed! Can't wait for season two to come out now.

My summary line says it all. But, it's the first season of the Marvel "Street Level" heroes universe (which does exist in the big MCU picture), and simply a superior rendition of DD (at least compared to anything before it). I won't go into any details, but if you've still not watched this, then what are you waiting for?

Forget about the Daredevil movie. If you want Daredevil, this show does it perfectly. Charlie Cox is amazing in it and the entire cast supports him well. Why should I buy the blu-ray when I can watch it on Netflix you ask? Because the show is so good that you have to own it outright!
