The game launched broken, but it is now patched up and honestly a good experience. Great graphics, combat is very strong, story is fairly well told.

Forget about animations. This game is awesome!

So the speaking animations are not great. They're not. But they aren't so atrocious that you shouldn't buy this game right now! The visuals (aside from animations) are stunning. The story, while some claim it's mediocre at best, really had me hooked in the first hour. Combat takes a little getting used to, but is fantastic once you learn the system (which doesn't take long). So far this is competing for favorite Mass Effect game for me!

Good game, good story, not worth 5 stars, but still worth a play through. You do not need to play the previous games to understand this game, but they do make a few references to the previous trilogy.

This game is a blast to play and the facial animations have been patched since the game was originally released. Picked this game up during a recent price cut and this game has been worth every penny. This game is a new expansion in the Mass Effect franchise and introduces new characters. If you enjoy Mass Effect games, or are new to the Mass Effect story line, you will definitely enjoy this one!

    Not Bioware's best.

Considering the upheaval among Bioware ranks in the past two years, including the two founding members and the lead writer for Andromeda, it is no surprise that this game is lacking in story and interactivity between characters. It is still a good game with about 40-60 hours of content, but pales in comparison to the first three in the series and Dragon Age: Inquisition. I would say that The much reviled Dragon Age II is better written. That being said, the combat mechanics in this game are the best I have ever experienced in a Mass Effect game. The graphics are beautiful. The collectibles are 'meh' as there really isn't much of a reward for collecting them.

This game has taken a lot of flack for being different from the original series, but that's possibly it's strongest selling point. It's a slow start, but it has a strong story that goes in its own direction, rather than trying to shadow the original Mass Effect trilogy. But it also manages to capture the feeling of being in the expansive Mass Effect universe. Overall, definitely worth $60.

The game is good but I haven’t finished it yet. The multiplayer is really fun. Best to play it with friends or other people instead of going solo

I have never played any of the previous games in this series. So it was refreshing to jump into something new. There really is alot of detail and thought meshed into this game. The campaign story is well-rounded, graphics are clean and fluid, and the interactive UI. For in-game and smartphone are a really big help and add a uniquness that helps the game stand out more on its own.

    Patches weren't enough

Patches to address haunting character faces, poor speech patterns and bizarre expressions didn't do enough to fully fix the game. I'm not a graphics over gameplay gamer but in this case, since they put so much money and time into developing these models and using realistic visuals, it does kinda constantly poke you with a "hey there's something really creepy about the way this person looks!" that constantly nags at you while playing. Breaks p the immersion a little. Buy gameplay is incredible and redeems the game immensely. ME fans will at least be satisfied there!

I enjoyed the original Mass Effect trilogy and I find this to be as fun to play. It does lack in the story telling and has some bugs but it plays like the original games and that is why I've always liked the series. It's a little disappointing they couldn't do more with it given the increasing capabilities developers have and the fantastic starting platform to build from. I enjoy playing a lot and am happy to have another mass effect to play, but it's hard not to wonder what could have been.

This game really is as repetitive and uninventive as people say. Each planet is the exact same with slightly different enemies and a new skin. So annoying that the Galaxy has only 3 animals and 5 plants.

I am not a hard core religious gamer. I play for enjoyment, Mass Effect Andromeda is a very good game, combat, movement, optional equipment, massive story line, and character building up is great. It take a completely different approach to story line then prior ME's. So don't expect a continued saga, if you liked prior ME, you will love this for game!

Game is fun but the faces on characters have no emotion. While the graphics are good this is one area lacking. Decent story. Lots of fun fighting.

My son wanted this game very much after he read the online reviews. It has good action with a compelling story line and is appropriate for a 15 year old.

I need a lot of time for this game! which is fine . This is right up my alley exploring . Searching, fighting, thinking tactically, takes patience, so if you don't have it not for you. Need to explore to accumulate materials, parts, info, to build and complete and move to other areas and other solar systems! Nice update to the older game!

First things first, know that this Mass Effect has zero to do with the previous Mass Effects. Once that is understood, then this game is very fun to play aside from some technical bugs that have been fixed a long the way. The story is detailed, now, and understanding. Combat is better this time around and there is much to explore in this world. If you enjoy a good story and don't mind a couple of hiccups along the way, then this game won't disappoint.

A Solid Entry in the ME Universe

Mass Effect: Andromeda has its issues (facial animations, occasional game freezes, texture pop-ins, and a somewhat forgettable story), but for all the grief that this game receives, if you actually play the game, you will realize that relative to most games on the market, it is a solid experience. The combat mechanics are the best in the series, and this entry also offers the most Mass Effect planet exploration to date. It certainly does not wow you like previous ME games, but it will entertain you enough to justify your time spent exploring the galaxy.
