The strap works okay with respect to fit and integration with the headset, where the latter is able to read the battery level and include it in the headset status.
Where the strap fails is the basic functionality of charging. With the strap connected to the headset, and charging thru the USB-C port in the strap, the first time got stuck at a total of 83% even after 12 hours of charging.
After the initial charging, I occasionally get faster charging, but it's totally unclear why not when it takes longer. Forums are full of complaints about this very issue and to my knowledge there is currently no fix.

This is defective. It worked at first and then slowly would not stay connected to the Quest 3. Now it recognizes it for about 3 seconds and then disconnects. I have reached out to Meta on the issue and now have to jump through the support hoops to get it replaced.

It was a hit or miss at release. I had to exchange the first unit I purchased because it stopped working suddenly. This was before the recall, the second unit has been working so far without issues but we will see how long that lasts. If you have a working one like me then you should be fine.

Had issues keeping the quest 3 charged using the Meta Pro strap with battery, There are better options for less money that actually keep the quest 3 charged while plugged into the battery pack.

There are serious power issues with the strap and battery being able to adequately power the headset. I'm glad I sold them quickly on eBay. Meta should recall all of them, but they are only dealing with people if they take action and complain.

Best Headband on Market

This is easily the best battery pack headband on the market. It provides an additional 1 1/2 to 2 hours of extra play time for me. The OS recognizes the headband and shows the battery level on it separately from the headset. I do believe no other headset does this. Its a great small detail that I have enjoyed more then I thought. The headband distributes the extra weight and the weight of the headset extremely well. I have zero fatigue wearing this. Worth the price. Do yourself a favor and just buy it.

The battery gets super hot and also drains pretty quick. Bought in October and can't return. Didn't purchase warranty.

I like the Quest official, Elite Strap w/Battery. It is comfortable and the extra battery is definitely needed. Unfortunately, it has a problem that I've heard that Meta has solved. I returned my Elite Strap Meta and am waiting for a replacement. I will update this review when I get mine back. The Strap was taken out of stores and will be returned soon, I guess.

The quest 3 is a game changer. Having never used a VR headset before I was absolutely blown away. My only complaints would be the short battery life and graininess of the cameras, in pass-through mode.

I went through three of these. Each worked for a few days, then stopped charging the headset. Per Meta, this is a known issue and you'll need on that was manufactured 12/2023.

These are so bad, Meta paused sales of them for a while. That should say something.

Sometimes I'm having issues with it but overall, it's okay. I'd go with Kiwi Design though!
