Bought the keyboard for my wife to help prevent the onset of carpal tunnel syndrome-she was having pain in her wrists. Took a little getting used to it, but it's helped alleviate the pain. So no more pain plus all keys working equals 5 stars from me.

I bought this keyboard because it was on sale for $20.00 and I needed a new keyboard. My last one was just like this. I already know its minus side. It is black, making it harder to see. And after two or more years the letters on the keys start fading. I had to buy another because after about 6 years, I could no longer see any letters on the keys. The up side is that the shape is just right to prevent wrist problems.

I have use ergonomic keyboards for over 20 years. The Microsoft Natural is by far the best keyboard I have used. We have 9 desktop computers at our business and all of them are outfitted with this keyboard. An interesting note: sometimes an employee that is new to this type of keyboard will complain about it - at first. After 2 weeks of using it every day, they never want to give it up.

Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is the best ergonomic split keyboard available. For people who type for hours everyday, this is the keyboard to own. It keeps your wrists in the most natural position with your arms apart. The only negative is the soft keys which takes some getting used to if your previous keyboard has high mechanical feedback.

The Best Ergonomic Keyboard for the Price

Why spend $80 plus for a good ergonomic keyboard? The Microsoft Ergonomic Natural Keyboard 4000 is an excellent keyboard for a good price. This is actually the second one I have purchased. It is being used by my wife for her computer. She uses her hands extensively at work and needs an ergonomic keyboard. She likes that she is able to position the keyboard properly by removing the palm riser and raising the rear legs. The first keyboard was purchased many years ago and I still use it on my computer. It is sturdy and has never given me a problem. And it has prevented, at least for me, wrist injuries such as carpal tunnel. I recommend this product for its price, durability, and ability to prevent wrist injury.

Is a good keyboard once you get used to it. Having the kickstand on the front was awkward at first, but now feels normal. Liked the price of this keyboard and didn't mind that it wasn't wireless. All the shortcut keys are great for never needing to remove your hands from the board. I especially like the calculator button to bring up the calculator quickly and effortlessly. It still throws me off that the Caps lock and num lock indicators are beneath the board, but hopefully with time that too will fade and I will look there first instead of above the number pad. Overall for the low price this keyboard was a fine addition to my computer at work.

I have three of these keyboards and I love them. Once you get used to them, it's impossible to go back to a regular keyboard. Since switching to the Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard, I have noticed an increase in my typing speed and reduction in the number of typos that I make. Only downside is that it's harder to type with one hand (but when are you doing that anyway!)

First bought one of these back in the early 2000's and never looked back. It might not have all the modern bells and whistles like bluetooth and clicky keys, but it has plenty of media buttons and the shortcut keys are a bonus. You can also remap the other keys to do things. I currently have the Home/Search/Mail keys in the upper left set as 'cut, copy, paste'. Very versitile and useful layout. Also comes with a riser that lifts the wrist rest about an inch higher. Only cons is sometimes the space button gets a bit 'sticky' and you have to press it harder and some buttons tend to have their letters wear off.

I have been in technology for 16 years. I have used this keyboard since it came out. I do not suffer from any wrist or hand health issues. I attribute that to this keyboard. Every time I use a normal one, my wrists start to hurt. I get this keyboard, no issues. Highly recommended.

Replaced older keyboard of the same type with this one. Some of the old keys weren't making contact anymore. Can't use a straight keyboard after using this type for years. Highly recommend this for anyone, but especially if you have carpal tunnel or arthritis issues.

I had never used an ergonomic keyboard before and was unsure about it at first. It did take me a couple of days to really get used to it but after I did I found I really liked it. It's very comfortable and sturdy which helps a lot with keeping my wrists from getting sore after a lot of typing.

Really there is nothing bad to be said about this keyboard as long as you plan on leaving it in one place, and have plenty of room on your desk. I move around alot, so the large dimensions of it can be a hassle. I wouldn't recommend it if you just want a good keyboard for typing, but if you are in to gaming, or run a lot of design programs (like me) it is nice. There are several keys to set up your shortcuts, controls for your media player, pretty much a button for everything. It is not the simplest thing to fully set up, but once you do it is hard to go back to a regular keyboard. The way it is shaped is a little odd. It is split in the middle, then slopes down on the sides, which takes some getting used to.

I love this keyboard it is my 2nd one. It took a little time to get use to but once you learn it you're good to go. I like the fact that it comes with it's own arm rest per say and the keys are easy to push. Overall I like it.

I recently had wrist surgery and was no longer able to type on a regular keyboard due to the limited range of motion in my arm. This keyboard is so comfortable...I don't know what I didn't purchase one before! Bonus, it has all these awesome features to make life easier when working on the computer. Our IT guy at work is totally jealous!!!!

I used this exact same model keyboard for a couple years at work under hard conditions and it performed very well. When my old ergo finally needed to be replaced (a much older Microsoft model,) I was happy to see the model 4000 available. It is a very good keyboard that is very comfortable allowing hours of use with little to no discomfort.
