The surface pro 4 does everything I expected it to and more. Love it's portability, battery life, easy of use and the removable Bluetooth keyboard. It has plenty of power and the boot up and shut down times are quick. Great for vacations and awesome in my docking station with 2nd monitor

This is the second Surface Pro I've owned. I use a Surface Pro 3 for my home computing, and purchased this Surface Pro 4 for work. It is an excellent device that does everything a laptop would do. HOWEVER, due to its limited ports, you must by the docking device to get enough ports. For both of my Pro's, I use a docking device (the ones made specifically for them), Additionally, for my home set up, I also daisy chain it to a Toshiba docking hub to get more and a greater variety of ports --- I have a key board, mouse, external CD, two screens, a printer, and a few other odd peripherals plugged in. I love being able to just unplug and take my Pro with me when I go. I also like that it is small and light for carrying or just sitting in front of the TV for doing work. And the bonus is that when I travel by air, because it can be considered a tablet rather than laptop, I don't have to take it out of my bag when going through security. I really like the Surface Pro, and have chosen it ahead of my HP laptop as well as my iPad, my Nividia, and my Nexus devices for using at work.

If youre looking for something light and powerful to replace your laptop, then look no further. Yes, the device has several software issues but microsoft is routinely releasing updates. Im running Autocad and Matlab on this and it has yet to fail me. Love it.

Good:
1. Great Performance. I am able to run a FHD and 2K monitor without any problems.
2. Device is beautiful. Pen work great
3. Keyboard works great. I really like that it has a backlight.
4. I really like the hub accessory. It is really cool, that you can charge from the USB hub
5. Display works great
Cons:
1. Devices came with a dead battery (0% charge). It should have been 60%). This is not very good for the health of the battery.
2. It took a while to trickle charge the battery before the device booted. (I almost returned the device)
3. The fan turns on after you run it for 10 min. It a low/high pitch noise that I hate. Sadly, it seems to be typical with this size of devices. hint: The tablet fan will not turn on if you point a small USB fan to it.
Summary: They battery been dead on arrival is annoying but not a deal breaker. The device works great. Excellent performance. Great for business.

Recommended by my IT person and I'm glad he did. It is extremely portable, more so than a laptop. Boots up fast and runs all of my company's programs at the same time without any problems. I was worried it was too small for frequent use but it is not. If it were any bigger, it would not be a viable "tablet." I have the dock so charging and attaching peripherals is taken care of for me.

This has turned out to be an even better computer than I expected. This is so versatile, light weight and mobile. I take it with me while doing errands and can log in quickly and get work done when needed. The computer is very fast! I also use it as a tablet to play games when I'm bored. Works well. Only issue is it can get a bit hot while playing games.

The tablet is very thin and can be carried around with no problem. I use it in the living room and in bed all the time but I use a stand that keeps the tablet in the right position while in bed. I have a stand in my living room and it fits just fine. It is not heavy to carry. I wish that it had more than one USB port. It runs Powerful products with no problem. Get the largest SSD drive that you can afford as the large programs take a lot of room. When listening with headphones the sound quality is very good. I like it very much and will use it for a long time.

It was definitely worth the wait to get thisome surface pro. I had to wait and extra 2 weeks bc it kept going out of stock (it was a hot item!) and I totally understand why, it's insanely fast, light and great for all my school work for a master's in MIS. I'd also like to add I had the greatest experience in store to get this surface pro, the sales rep that helped us out went way above and beyond to help us get everything we needed, which made this an all around great experience.

Bought this for my son for high school graduation to use for college. Light weight and compact. Easy for him to carry to and from campus in his backpack. The speed of the processor is outstanding, not to mention the quality and clarity of the graphics. Highly recommend it!

I had to return the first purchase when an update put the tablet in an infinite reboot loop and dead pixel emerged. But the second has not had any issues. It runs lighting calculation software and CAD great. I have not connected to a docking station or monitor yet. But have noticed and will warn, do not remove or connect any devices while the tablet is off. All connections and removal should be done with the tablet turned on. This includes the keyboard has to be in the open in-use position and not folded behind during start up. Otherwise you will have to restart the tablet.

I think Microsoft really nailed it with this device. So comfortable and lightweight that you can't even believe this "tablet" does everything a laptop does (and more). Best product on the market for sure!.

I'm an engineer and run some large and CPU intensive applications. This thin, lightweight, tablet is more powerful than most desktop computers. Also has a touch screen. While not cheap, this surface pro is excellent for a road warrior. It has a micro SD slot where I installed a 128GB card. I keep all my data on the SD card so it can be move easily to another computer.

Mac guy who loves his Surface Pro 4

I am not ashamed to admit that I regularly use and buy Apple gear. It works really well for me and I like that my gear all works pretty well together.
Having said that, I purchased this device on behalf of my company because they like having Windows machines and I love the form factor for the Surface Pro 4. My model is the Core i7, 16gb memory and 512gb storage. This device is light weight, thin and very portable. I also bought the keyboard model that has the fingerprint sensor and use it daily. This is such a great device for people who travel and need Windows OS and apps.
The kicker to my review is that I wish it ran Mac OS instead of Windows 10. I still find 10 to be buggy and occasionally frustrating. The pen is of no value for me and I generally never use it as a tablet and I generally never touch the screen. I use it as a laptop with a mouse.
Port selection is limited with 1 USB and 1 display port which means I cannot connect many devices unless I carry a small hub. For example, I use a 27" display in my home office, I then use a USB ethernet adapter, a USB Jabra speaker/speakerphone or USB headset for use with Skype for Business and a USB dongle for a wireless keyboard and mouse.

So far I'm extremely pleased with my Microsoft surface. I like it's portability along with its full functioning ability. I'm quite amazed as to how something this small was able to completely replace my laptop. It's extremely convenient with the pen to do certain functions.

My brother and I have always wanted a Surface Pro of sorts of our own so the Surface Pro 4 was more than enough for me. It runs everything pretty well from drawing, to surfing the internet, to multi-usage apps at once, and even gaming! The sound quality is pretty amazing and clear as well as it reaches a significant high volume through output. Though the battery life can deplete rather quickly, depending on what you are using it for as can be applied for any device, it recharges quickly. The switch between tablet and pc mode is pretty great too, but I suggest staying in pc mode and getting a keyboard for this as if you do not, you might have a rather harder time than it would be to surf around as well as this is mobile and the keyboard serves as a cover, it is very easy to take around wherever you go. Overall, this Surface Pro 4 is pretty amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better one. It's perfect just for all the things I need it for.

SP4 is the best Surface Pro yet

Upon initial use there were some aggravating glitches, however after MS came out with a few updates those have resolved. I loved the SP2, SP3 (better) and the SP4 is fantastic. Light, very portable, and works as well as any conventional laptop. I got the i7 512 gb drive with 16 mb of ram and couldn't be happier. It is the best "laptop" I have ever owned and doesn't weigh 20 pounds. Expensive, but I would do it again. I use MS Office 2013, Sketchbook Pro 7, QuickBooks 2015 and several other programs every day. This little laptop keeps pace with everything. Much faster than the conventional laptop I use at work.

I'm really glad they came out with a model that had 512gb otherwise I wouldn't have bought since I need this to be my everyday computer & tablet. My 1st one didn't work, which was a bummer, but they replaced it & the 2nd one did work. There are some sound clicks that go on that I still need to check on but the product itself is amazing & has so many features that help me in my business.
