The Surface Pro 7 really shines as an ultralight laptop. Everything about it is great. The battery could be a little better and it does get warm at times but given its configuration I am thrilled with it. However, as a tablet it is not very good primarily due to the Windows Operating system. Fortunately the excellence of the laptop experience makes up for the weakness of tablet mode. My Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ smartphone and Tab S4 tablet will satisfy my tablet needs. The first unit I received had some issues which Best Buy's excellent Geek Squad dealt with quickly. They replaced that unit with a new unit and now everything functions perfectly. I am thrilled with my purchase and with the very friendly and efficient service which I have received. I recommend without reservation the Microsoft Surface Pro 7. I also recommend making your purchase through your local Best Buy. The really do stand behind their products. Their employees know their stuff and also how to deal with clients with all levels of technical expertise.

This is a very capable tablet/laptop. I have 18 months experience with it and still like it very much. Being portable, it is an easy carry and seems durable having had ZERO problems to date. It is easy to switch back and forth between tablet (for when touch screen is enough) and laptop mode (when you are working with a spreadsheet or other input-intensive applications). The touch screen is nicely sensitive. Processor is very fast. I have Windows Office installed, yet I still have plenty of space for local storage and applications (my larger files are storage in the cloud). Streaming video is easy and fast (only limited by the available wifi). I really like this tablet for my portable use.

I bought my surface pro 7 about 15 months ago and am mostly very pleased with it. I also bought the pen and keyboard to go with it, glad I did and am pleased with them as well. I use mine in both tablet and laptop configurations and am not disappointed with either. The reason it is only 4 stars is because of a couple of caveats. the battery doesn't last a long as I would like and sometimes the system temporarily locks up. as far as the battery goes, I only get about 8 hours out of it, which isn't bad but I would like to see it hit the 12 hour mark, although to be fair I usually don't let it go bellow 20 percent. That said, it does charge fast, 20 percent to full less than 2 hours. Then there is the lockup problem, and it is common with these. The system will freeze up periodically, usually it is only temporary and will last for up to 15 seconds before resuming normal operations. Occasionally it will stay frozen and you have to hold the start button until it restarts. there are plenty of articles online dealing with how to remedy this problem, although it seems to have gotten better after upgrading to Windows 11. Other than that I absolutely love my Surface pro 7, it has a beautiful screen that is vivid, clear, and bright. It is quick and responsive, and the pen, sold separately, is accurate and responsive as well. Even with these two drawbacks I would still recommend this to my friends or family.

This is a great little machine, looks good, works good. It is a tablet first and a laptop second so if a tablet is kit what you are looking for there are better laptop options, but if you want a very portable windows machine that is great for pen and touch the surface pro is the way to go. The keyboard is a bit flappy/springy so maybe not the best choice if you want to do a lot of typing.

I love my surface pro 7!! I am a college student and it is great to go from using the keyboard to switching to tablet mode. I can download the powerpoint slides my professors post and use my microsoft pen to write notes on the slides. It is very fast and I would recommend this computer to any college student or anyone who would need a tablet and a computer. It is a great size as well. My old computer was huge and very slow. My surface pro is smaller than my notebooks in my backpack and is so light!

The 7th version of Microsoft's tablet is another evolution in the tried and true design with no real changes from last year other than the addition of the USB-C port. Internally you'll get the latest 10th gen Dual or Quad core processors depending on the model you choose. What makes this a great device (with the mandatory type cover; you'll need and want this) is that it can suit so many diverse use cases. Want a tablet? Check. Need a laptop? Check. Want to take notes for school or work or draw (again, with the optional pen)? Check. If you have the ability to get all of the accessories like the Type Cover, Pen, and Docking Station, you'll have a device that can do it all (except serious gaming). It can be expensive getting all the accessories but it makes up for it by being really good at pretty much everything. Cameras on front and back make it easy to chat or grab a quick photo. The kickstand lets you set almost any angle you'd like. The display is super sharp and clear for watching videos or viewing photos. Don't skimp on the RAM and get at least the 8GB versions. The i5 versions have no fan and always remain quiet and pretty cool. The i7 models have great performance but will bring a fan along that you'll hear if you are pushing performance. Overall, a highly recommended device.

I haven't used Windows in a very long time. I have been using Chrome books because I do mostly basic stuff on laptops, but I wanted to branch out a bit with something that is better quality and more features and I chose the Microsoft Surface Pro 7. I love the face recognition and the way the laptop screen looks. Or is this a tablet? It seems like a hybrid of the two. I love being able to verbally ask the it questions and it finds answers for me or takes me to where I need to go. I love the camera and sound quality. I've only had this laptop a few weeks so I haven't had a lot of time to explore the features. On thing I'm frustrated with and will have to see the Geek Squad about is that I have problems turning it on. Its fully charged, I the power button and nothing happens. I press the mouse, keys on the keyboard.. nothing. That happens more times than not. I bought the accessory pen to write on the screen with and you have the option of using different color "ink". I also got the mouse and the keyboard accessories and cant wait to use more features and learn this laptop/tablet more. I got it because it had really high ratings and outside of my powering on issues I have no complaints. It's tablet size so it doesn't take up a lot of space and the keyboard snaps into place easily. It easily syncs to other Android devices.

Hi Sherry – Thank you for sharing your experience with your new Surface Pro 7. We hope you continue to enjoy using it. We’re sorry to hear you sometimes have trouble turning your Surface on. When this happens, there are a few things to try, disconnect accessories, wake with keyboard and tablet shortcuts, or force a shutdown. If none of these steps resolve the problem, you can submit a service request to Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ Microsoft

I was looking to update my Surface Pro that was over 8 years old and has been used almost daily for work in the last 8 years. The new one has a bigger screen and is lighter weight. So far, really enjoying the speed and the ability to adapt to it. It is what I was hoping for.

The Surface Pro 7 is perfect for what I need. It is the perfect size and weight for traveling. Since I use it for work, I can happily say that I can use all work applications necessary. The detachable keyboard/cover is great and having the kickstand makes it esya to adjust the slant.

I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro for compatibility with some school issued software. Surface Pro 7 is great for college. It performs tasks most students encounter. I have not tried the note taking functions due to the fact classes have been moved online. 10th Gen Intel Core I5 is a great processor. The Surface Pro 7 charges quickly. I do wish it had 2 USB-C ports. Accessories with Surface Connect capability’s are expensive. 8gb RAM is a minimum, it will be pushed with some Adobe programs or similar. If you can, save a little longer and go for 16gb. iPad Pro’s have excellent screens and processing speeds, but until you can run third party software outside the App Store, it will not compete with the Surface Pro as a laptop replacement.

My third Surface. I have this and two Surface Go’s. One surface go is setup as a tiny ultra portable laptop that does everything. With the M3 and a Sony 270 MB Read Time micro SD card, it does, too. The other is an iPad Pri replacement. If Apple work really hard, their IPad Pro might be as good as the Surface Go + Sony E series SDXC UHS-II Card 256GB, V60, CL10, U3, Max R270MB/S, W120MB/S with the Spigen tablet cover is today. The Surface 7 has a much bigger screen and might be a bit faster. I bought it after the Surface Go. I was so impressed, I dumped my annual MacBook Air purchase for the Surface 7. I’ve been delighted since. The only downside is finding a decent case for the Surface 7. Lots of good choices for the Go 2, but I have yet to find a decent one for the Surface 7..

Now that it's set up, we like it. We did try face recognition set up and it froze half way through (a Windows issue) and had to bring it in for a fix. And the magnetic power cord is easily pulled out - irritating. But it's small enough to go with us as we travel.

This is the best laptop I've ever bought in my life. I had a MacBook and ended selling it after 6 months. I always had issues because most of websites weren't that compatible with safari and Google Chrome on when doing college homework. I had always use HP and Dell... and windows definitely exceded my expectations. It is perfect for taking it to class and easy to carry around. During class lectures I will have my laptop as a tablet and see Professor's PowerPoint. Everyone wish they had one, because doesn't not take a lot of space. Works very well with my galaxy S20. Hope this review helps you make a decision. You won't regret it If you end up buying it.
