Works really great, so glad I ended up getting it ! A couple of points about the product - and this is more about the software rather than the hardware: 1. the placement of the little menu that appears when you connect to the adapter drives me mad - you can unpin it, but I keep accidentally clicking disconnect when I got to move a window or change a tab. I wish I could just get rid of it, and completely manage the adapter from the app. 2. This is a minor thing and not truly a problem just something I found odd - the picture is good when you use the adapter, but the cursor is weirdly quite pixelated.

This adapter was easy to plug in and install. However, I was very alarmed at the fact it became extremely hot while in use. Therefore, I was afraid that it may damage my monitor/tv's and/or cause a fire. This product was quite costly.

The Microsoft wireless display adapter works great. I use it to stream my phone to my TV and it works very well just need to make sure the phone is near it as the range isn't great.

Super easy to plug in and use. I just pick the source/input from my TV's remote and I'm cooking with gas. I mostly wanted to use the TV as a monitor to show pictures and movie clips (home-made stuff) from my laptop when company is here, or surf/research certain things with my wife where crowding around a smaller screen is a hassle. Now we enjoy it from the comfort of our living room, and I can take it with me when I visit others. Very handy for what it is.

I searched for hours looking for something that will cast without wifi. I have a Samsung J7 it doesn't support the wired connections. I'm using this in the breakroom at work. I don't have access to wifi. Thanks to this my coworkers and I can enjoy some funny YouTube videos on the big screen. $50 is a little high but it's a good brand. As they say buy right or buy twice.

I had 2 different streaming devices; Actiontec Stream Beam, Microsoft - Wireless Display Adapter V2 receiver. I installed the Stream Beam 1st based on the rep at BB. I was going to keep my MS WDA as a portable device if needed. Well...the Stream Beam malfunctioned within 20 days, so I put on the MS WDA. Beautiful! It's been working like a charm for a while now with no issues, and no lag for me so far.

I have a surface laptop so I purchased this Microsoft wireless display. It kept disconnecting every 15 or 20 minutes for no reason. I downloaded a firmware update (Windows 10 app) and now I have no issues with this device. Very convenient in not having to wire a projector to laptop during presentations!

Great wireless adapter with small delay

This wireless display adapter is amazing for projecting audio and video to the screen. No issues with the audio syncing to the display. This adapter was VERY easy to use, taking only 3 clicks to connect. You just need to make sure that there is an available USB port on the TV for power. (I would think a separate USB power source such as a self-powered hub could be used, but I have not tested this.) There is a small input delay between your device and when it responds on the display for things like typing, but that is to be expected for a wireless connection. There was also a noticable difference in speed and responsiveness on my surface laptop 2 (i5, 8gb ram) while the adapter was in use, but was not an issue for me since I was just letting video play and not actively doing work. I would recommend this to anybody that is looking to duplicate or extend their device to a secondary screen for playing videos, but work would be frustrating due to the mouse and keyboard delay. Even with its faults, the adapter works to the best of it's ability, and its faults are very very minimal for the price which earns a 5 star rating from me.

I was surprised how easy it was to use the wireless display. Simply plugged into the back of my Samsung TV (I used across 5 different Samsung TVs throughout the office) and it was recognized on corresponding HDMI port. Clicked "connect" from Windows 10 taskbar/notifications. Bam. Replicated screen to share my screen with fellow employees.

I purchased this one to replace my long HDMI cable that connects my laptop and TV for watching movies. I observed considerable lag every 10 seconds which made the movies unwatchable. However, I used to for presenting slides and it seemed to have done a pretty good job. In the end I had to return it since it didn't fulfill my primary purpose.

    Great MiraCast/WiDi Wireless HDMI Adapter

There are lots of different MiraCast adapers but the Microsoft display adapter V2 is a very good and reliable one. It holds the connection reliability and is easy to setup the first time and use anywhere you plug it in after that. You don't set it up on your wifi. Make sure you update when you get it. You need a Windows PC to do this. This is not a Chromecast! A Chromecast will let you send streaming media straight to your TV from the internet. The Microsoft display adapter v2 will not do that. However the Microsoft display adapter v2 will do a better job going straight to your TV from a device. Not all devices will send to it though. Some Android phones and most, if not all, Windows 10 PCs with an Intel processor. It should work with Windows 8 too but I'm pretty sure it only works with an Intel processor. This will give better frame rates and probably better audio then Chromecasting direct from a device - sending whatever is on your screen. If you want to send video from apps or websites like YouTube or Netflix to your TV and do nothing more than that you probably want a Chromecast.

I love this device. I owned V1 which was one of the first wireless HDMI devices on the market. This one improves on it. I hear that there is a 4k version on the horizon. This device has 2 hidden secrets. 1) It uses Miracast along with Chromecast. The advantages of Miracast is that you don't need a wifi connection for it to work. It forms its own private network between the broadcasting device and the adapter. 2) If the broadcasting device is a Windows device you can broadcast Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, etc. over it just like a wired connection to almost all devices with a compatible HDMI input. This means that you don't need a logged in smart device. It works directly via screen sharing and treats it like an extended monitor. When you try this with Chromecast it will work, but you will get a black screen and only be able to hear the audio and see the subtitles due to piracy restrictions.

I've purchased one of these for each of my TVs. As long as you have 802.11n wifi, you'll be able to wirelessly share your device screen to your TV. I use this for netflix, YouTube, and to give my laptop an additional screen. No issues with blackberry, android or Windows. I'd expect you'd need an apple device similar to this for an apple product to work with it.
