I found out about the adapter only because of the specs of the Microsoft Surface Book which described the capability. Unfortunately this adapter will work only on computers that are Miracast capable. Hookup was easy but I had a bit of a problem activating the adapter. The instructions were not very good. Maybe it was just me but I got lucky and figured it out and it worked great! Love it.

If your wifi is not strong then you will experience leg and drop frames. It works well when network bandwidth is good. No need for long runnning cable in the conference room anymore.

It was easier than I thought it would be. I’m a professional portrait photographer and often I present my images in the client’s home. I used to use a digital projector to show my work. Now most all of my clients have large tv displays on their walls and that works perfect with this device. I just easily hook it up to their unit, select the source to my laptop and there ya go, we’re up and running with out a hassle and it makes me look professional. I endorse this product.

    It's no Chromecast

This works ok, but not for streaming. I bought this thinking it would work better than my Chromecast when used with my Surface Pro 3. It's actually just a glorified projector. Sharing pictures, browsing the web with someone else and not having them hanging over your shoulder works well. But the picture quality is mediocre at best, and the latency with streaming is unbearable. Like the Chromecast, this works as a screen mirroring device, what's on your phone or tablet, is displayed on your tv. Unlike the Chromecast, when using certain apps, you can NOT continue to browse on the casting device without interrupting what is being shared. This plays into Microsoft's poor app support and lack of apps in general. Most streaming services have a Chromecast streaming extension built in, there is no such feature for this device. One feature I did like, once I downloaded the accompanying app from MS app store, was the ability to fit the display to the screen, as well as check for and update the firmware for the device. Outside of that, its just another dongle with limited usability and plenty of competition more worthy of your money. Had I not had several gift cards, coupons and asked for a price match with Amazon.com, I wouldn't have bought this product.

Easy to set up and use with Win 10. Rarely, I've had to re-establish connection with my adapter to get it to work. Otherwise, I would highly recommend.

This adapter works great at home and in the office able to duplicate and extend my computer screen as needed. I would check your screen and computer first to see if you need the adapter. After buying the adapter the TV I was using it on was able to extend and duplicate and mirror my computer screen by itself. Not a bad piece of gear to have in your backpack for not a lot of money now. A very nice thing to have with you and use it if you need to

We connect my Microsoft Surface tablet/pc to the smart TV with this cable, change the input setting on the TV, and settle down to an evening watching movies, old TV shows, music videos, YouTube stuff, all for free. We still have cable, but sometimes even with all those channels to choose from, there is nothing I want to watch. It also allows me to turn the TV into a very large monitor. That is helpful especially with these small tabler/pc screens and accompanying small print.

This wasn't something I needed, but I figured why not be able to cast my computer screen to the TV when I feel like it?! It works very well, auto-adjusts the computer screen when in use, I didn't notice any lag, and it's so tiny I was impressed at how well it worked. I would give it 5 stars if it came with a power cable and I didn't have to invest in a USB extension cable since my TV didn't have it's own dedicated USB power output.

I love these things. I've installed several of them in conference rooms and they work flawlessly. Just plug them in, set the TV or monitor to the correct input and follow the on-screen instructions. Every modern Windows 10 computer can connect wirelessly to it with minimal lag. Yes, there is some lag and using it for video conferencing isn't the best because of that, but for all other uses it's great.

Overall these work pretty good but sometimes there are hiccups in display to remote TV/display. But it’s the technology not this MS adapter as I see the same issues on other brands device. The V2 is better in that there’s less lag but it’s minimal and not a problem. I use one regularly and rarely have interference issues, well worth the wireless remote display capability.

I use this in my classroom with my school issued Surface Pro. I love how easy it is to setup and use. Make sure you download the Wireless Display app from the Windows Store; that is where all the settings, preferences, and updates are for the adapter. I use the Surface and this to act as a whiteboard/smartboard in my classroom so I am not tied to one spot. Also, something that surprised me with this, is it does transmit sound also so the sound will come from the projector.
