Customers are delighted by the Xbox One Kinect Sensor's voice control and ease of use, frequently praising its improved accuracy and fun factor. However, some users experienced issues with compatibility and game support, particularly needing an adapter for newer Xbox consoles. The sensor's size was also a point of contention for some customers.

Decent voice recognition, poor motion control

The voice control works decently, though far from perfect. Some commands tend to work better than others. For example "Go to [app]" seems to struggle at times while "Unsnap, Volume Up/Down, and On/Off" work well. The hand motion tracking is poor and not worth using if you want anything selected in a timely fashion. You're better off with a controller. Overall a decent experience and recommended for navigating the poorly laid out interface.

Amazing Lights!

Let me first begin by stating these lights are expensive! We are talking $59 per light bulb. Once you get past the price and if you can afford them it will change your idea of home lighting and automation. First of all you will need the Hue router so I would recommend the starter kit which includes a router and three light bulbs. Another important note, these lights can be controlled by normal switches and dimmers. You must turn on and off all your Hue lights with the app or you must purchase a Hue Dimmer/Switch. Needless to say you must be willing to make a significant investment! Now to the good stuff. The lights can be adjusted to one of 16 million colors each. The app comes with pre installed scenes which come with a number of photos. You can choose each point on the photo you want your light to create. Additionally you can control lights singly or as a group. They also sell spot lights, accent lights, and strip lights. I have a total of 14 Hue lights which includes a strip light, two spot lights, and eight light bulbs. You can create incredible color scenes which fill your rooms with amazing light shows. There are also lots of free apps that will control your Hue router to provide a number of light shows, control options, etc... Overall they are a great addition to any home if you have the ability to make the purchase and if you have some minimal technical ability to install and configure the lights/router.

I know a lot of people make fun of the kinect and I have to be honest about the games for it, not the best. However, I think it was totally worth it just for the voice and hand commands. If you can't find the controller or you left it on a table far away, you don't need it for watching netflix, movies, etc. I know that sounds super lazy, but it's nice when you're finally comfortable on the couch.

The Kinect is great for anyone that has yet to use voice control with a gaming console. I will never go back to wearing headsets while being comfortable on my couch again! The mic on the Xbox One Kinent is far better than any I've had in the past and my friends can always hear me loud and clear.

Their cool when using your Xbox one as your cable box. I use voice commands mostly to power on/off the console and to find certain programs on my cable box. Keep in mind though, these aren't necessary for playing majority of the games. They are also used for chatting without a headset and to skype.
I've always had mine connected since it shipped with the original Xbox one at launch. They are also great for recording 30 second intervals of gameplay on the DVR. And signing users into their profiles by face recognition.
Be warned though if you plan on getting one for the Xbox one s, you will need a USB adapter which is sold separately for $30. For those who already own an Xbox one, and are considering the upgrade to an s. You might wanna hang on to your Kinect to save you a $100 if you plan to sell or trade in the original.

I got the Kinect for my kids to play Just Dance 2015. I know there are other games for it, but I don't have any other yet. Kinect makes playing the dance game so much more fun. It can recognize up to 5 different people to dance at once. It is super easy to set up and fairly quick. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to enhance their dance game experience.

Kinect is ostensibly a camera first, but its voice recognition prowess is a huge selling point for the Xbox One, and it is incredible—when it's working. The Xbox on voice command usually takes a couple of tries. It's very clear that Kinect, and its always-listening capabilities, have been a huge part of the Xbox One vision from the start, because this stuff goes deep. Wonderfully deep.

This enhances the gaming experience on xbox one, acccording to my grandson who received it as a gift. He says the sensor makes it easier to control the system. I should have bought it as a package with the xbox one rather than separately, it would have been cheaper. I had to wait about two months until it was back in stock but it was worth the wait according to my grandson.

This thing is awesome. Hooked it up and use it to control everything. From gaming to TV and back again when ever you want, WITH your voice. Ever have those days when you cant find the remote control for the tv, well if you have this thing hooked up.... all you need to say is Xbox ON. Everything comes on, Xbox turns on, then the tv, then cable box. I have a surround sound system hooked up to my tv too, it doesnt control that but because it controls the tv all i have to say is "Volume up" and it comes on, cause the xbox controls the tv that controls the sound system, Awesome!

I really like the voice feature of the Kinect. It turns on my tv, audio tuner, and xbox with a simple voice command. When I wanna get up for snacks, I can pause any video without having to reach for a remote. Volume up/down and mute woks the same as well , among a myriad of other audio commands. Couldn't be happier, but its turned me into a real couch potato.

I love the Kinect! You can use this instead of headphones while talking in games and I like the voice command feature to perform task instead of using my controller. Now with the infrared it can recognize you in any lighting which helps a lot during log in. I would recommend buying the kinect if you could to make your Xbox one experience so much better.

Never considered this when I got my Xbox. Saw it at a friends house and got to see first hand the value it adds to your console experience. Easy to use, and what impressed me was how effortlessly it started working. Just plug in and play. Love that I can skype with my family back west and the new update looks and feels great with all my devices.
