Fantastic movie such a great historical view of the greatest generation!!! The pearl harbor battle scene may be better than the actual pearl harbor movie!! We had recently visited the Yorktown as a family and read and learned about the battle of Midway, so to see the battle, the planning on both sides, was a very interesting history lesson. I always take biopics with a little grain of salt but this film does a great job a sticking to the facts and explaining the history

This is one of the best movies detailing the Midway campaign I have seen. I love the 70's version, but the updated special effects help bring it alive and you appreciate the sacrifice our serviceman made. Yes, the acting may be a little cheesy at times but taken as a whole it tells the Midway battle well. I love movies based on history and I love this version, yes there is the usual Hollywood liberties taken, but factually the movie doesn't stray much. Why not have fun and learn history!

I really enjoyed this movie both when I saw it at my local theater and at home. Actually though, it covers several events, including the prelude to the Second World War, Pearl Harbor, Doolittle's Tokyo raid, and the battle of Midway itself. I found it historically pretty accurate and also found the acting believable. Unlike some scenes in Pearl Harbor, the design of the warships was also correct. The picture and sound are excellent. I had planes flying all over my room and it was a lot of fun. Enjoy.

If you are looking from aerial and sea battles at the same time, this is it. From a historical standpoint, this is the one. The special effects were outstanding. To say this movie is realistic is beyond words. You almost feel like you were there. Definitely will watch this one again

Product was on wrong rack and honored the price, no haggling, just overdid the price, the woman their remembered me in earlier and just took me over to register and had associate ring it up. I wasn't even looking for that to happen. I have never had a bad experience at this store. This is why, 3tvs, refrigerator, receiver(Denon) Polk Audio Speakers Front center sub and albums, etc.

This movie was a great remake of the original version from 1976 (itself a great story of one of the key naval battles of US Naval History). Midway (2019), while lacking the sheer volume of star actors populating the 1976 version, succeeds with great special and visual effects, as well as greater character back stories. One of my favorite movies from WWII, along with the Sands of IWO Jima, and Patton.

Saw this in the theater and thought it was just OK. There are a couple of special effects scenes that I thought just looked like too much CGI. It happens somewhat early in the film, so it tainted my experience a bit. Bought it anyway and so glad that I did. Yeah, there's still that one scene, but I didn't let it distract me. What a great story, solid acting, and most all of the special effects scenes are excellent. And if you look for the resources online, you'll find all of the true individual historical accounts that are represented in this particular film. The 4K presentation and sound are quite epic. This is a worthy addition to your 4K collection, even if it's not an A+

I have both the old and new Midway. The old has many familiar faces to the boomer generation to which I belong: Henry Fonda, Charlton Heston, Robert Mitchum, James Coburn, Glenn Ford, Hal Holbrook, Cliff Robertson, Robert Wagner, Edward Albert and more. The new Midway is a better presentation of the historical record and special effects, as you would expect, are superior to the footage taken from military archives in the old Midway. I say, go for it!

I had purchased Midway [SteelBook] in 4K due to two reasons: 1) It was on sale 2) I needed something new to watch I have to say, the SteelBook packaging is a great addition to my current SteelBook collection. The audio and video quality is awesome especially when watching it on my Samsung 82" Q90R 4K TV and Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar. Overall, if you're looking for a good war movie to watch, I highly recommend checking out this title.

One of my favorite films! This transfer is good improvement over blu-ray! The story is riveting, the bravery is inspiring, this gives you a sense of pride for this great country we live in! at a time when it is difficult see any appreciation! Next time you see a service man or women...stop take time to thank them for their service! You are free because of it!!

I did many school book reports on early WW2 Pacific naval battles. To finally be able to see what I was only able to imagine at the time was pretty cool. The action was loud and intense. Pearl Harbor to the USS Hornet to Midway Island was a great story sequence not usually followed in a single movie. CGI airplane battles in the movies are getting better but I'm an airplane geek so I'll never be completely happy. I really liked the who's who at the end of the movie.

I can't say enough about the quality of the CGI graphics that were used to make this latest movie adaptation of the story of the Battle Of Midway in WWII. They are first rate and worth the price of the disc just to see them even if it didn't have a superb cast to tell the story. Woody Harrelson does a superb rendition of Admiral Chester Nimitz trying to dig the USNavy out of the tremendous hole they found themselves in after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I have both copies, the 1976 version with Henry Fonda and Charletson Heston and just watched the new version. Enjoyed them both. Each movie has a focus on a different persepctive of the timeline that leads up to the Battle of Midway. I enjoyed them both and admittedly the newer version with the 4K is visually better.

MIDWAY, although showing some of the important events leading up to it, centers on the Battle of Midway which marked a pivotal turning point in the fight against Japan during WWII. The film, based on the real-life events of the battle, tells the story of the leaders and soldiers who used their instincts, fortitude and bravery to overcome the odds. If you can - watch the Midway film made in 1976 first and then watch this one. Both are excellent films.

I served 4 and half years at sea on a Navy destroyer, and I can vouch for the realism and authenticity that the film makers did their best to put into this movie. The viewer can really get a feel for the pucker factor that WW2 pilots must have felt when going on a dive bomb run on an enemy warship pouring lead on them all the way down! I enjoyed this film at the theatre, and I'm happy that I have it in my 4K Blu Ray disk collection.

I rented this movie at first from REDBOX and loved it so I bought this 4k version of it. When I got ready to watch it I was so disappointed because the resolution was grainy and horrible with the 4k. Way worse then Blu-Ray. I checked all of my settings and couldn’t make it any better so I returned the movie thinking maybe I got a bad disc but the second one wasn’t any better. I’m not sure what’s up with it but I was very disappointed with the 4k.

Roland Emmerich helms a fun and entertaining take of the Battle of Midway in this 2019 film. Though the story is based on real-life people, there are obviously many liberties taken to ensure that the pace of the movie keeps moving. Be prepared to give you audio setup a workout ... The Dolby Atmos track works to show sound effects from all around you ( left , right and even from above ) bringing you into the action and is on par with the sound presentation in the 2019 Godzilla:King of Monsters movie. The all-star cast also helps to round our the movie with great performances all around

This is a very accurate telling of one the greatest stories of WW 2 and of the 20th century. It is a little tiring visually because there is WAY more fire (all the shot down planes blow up, all the ships blow up in great balls of red flame. Too much digitized fire, not enough smoke). The actors actually look like the real people they are portraying. The characters are accurately portrayed. Pretty good job and on my list of movies to watch over again.

Great Movie! If you ever wanted to know and see what happened at Midway 1942 -- this is the movie to watch. Ignore some of the inaccuracies -- the story and action is wonderful to see onscreen. I like the first rendition with Charlton Heston as the movie was full of A rated actors and the portrayal of the battle was excellent. However, the second rendition gave me insight was it was to be a dive-bomber pilot

A great telling and showing of factual history with incredible 4k cinematography. I've seen the old 70s version of Midway, and this is a better paced and more intense version of this game changing battle in the Pacific. This movie convinced me that I would never want to be a dive-bomber, and those pilots were either insane or among the bravest men who have ever lived. Maybe both. White knuckle experience watching this film.
