While the main storyline and side content are not especially engaging, and the controls at times seem to lack the precision some maneuvers call for, there really aren't many other games like this. It provides a great sense of speed and freedom as you learn to pick out and parkour across the optimal paths through the environment. Players interested in the time trials and leaderboards will get more enjoyment than those who aren't.

I have put in around 6 hours into Mirror's Edge Catalyst so far and am enjoying it to a point. Combat can be very frustrating at times when you are required to engage to clear an area. I still don't feel the connection to the characters but Faith has grown on me. The city, while it is a bit straight lined, is very pretty. The team did a great job giving that feeling of height and being alone at the top of a city. I hate heights and one part so far required the climbing of the tallest building in the city which made my hands sweat and I had to walk away for a min. Hard to explain but they made it feel real. There is a lot to do in the city and even when you fail a run it doesn't take long for it to reload and try again. Yes, the controls are still frustrating at times but fairly easy. Will hopefully be finishing it soon.

I like this game. Still has feeling of the first game but I like the first one better still. This one has a free world concept and you get to choose what your mission is. City is kinda confusing but it's good.

A refreshing take on open world traversal, where simply getting from point A to point B is half of the fun. The story is nothing special, the leveling system and skill tree is unnecessary, and you'll occasionally feel like throwing your controller at the wall when a goofy level design choice results in you falling to your death three times in a row. But these drawbacks are easily outweighed by the simple joy of running, jumping, sliding, vaulting, and in some cases literally flying, from rooftop to rooftop - especially once you delve into the timed challenges, where the world design really shines. Additional kudos for including some meaningful side quests (though not enough of them).

A step up from its predecessor

Overall this game is definitely a step up from the first Mirror's Edge game. I enjoyed the first game but felt some of the combat sequences felt a bit out of place for the setting (i.e. the gunplay). Luckily, they removed that aspect from this game. Also, I didn't care much for the story in the first game. While this game won't be winning any awards for its story it was a lot more enjoyable this time around. I cared more about what was actually going on in the world and the characters. I had fun with this game and am glad I decided to try it out. I would recommend the game at the right price.

I was a little hesitant about this game at first but I am overly excited that I went ahead and bought it. Jam packed with tons of action, it’s not your typical “I cleared that game in 1 day and will never play it again” type of game. I haven’t stopped playing since I received it. The kids sit by the tv anxiously waiting to get a turn. It does have a teen rating, but every kid in my house has played it with no problems. Very happy with my purchase.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst overall is a fun game that I'd recommend playing if you enjoyed the original. The environments are gorgeous however the gameplay is the same as the original and works best when you're running and jumping around but really falls flat with a dated combat system that interrupts the flow of the game more than it should. The story is good however the overall campaign is really short at about 8-10 hours and that's with me completing most of the side quests.

This sequel is something that many never imagned could’ve happend. Maybe not as fresh feeling as the first but perfect for those that still wanted to revisit that style and gameplay again.

If you liked the crazy parkour action of first one, you will really like Catalyst. Levels are less linear. Not exactly open world, but more open ended. The game does guide the player to the goal with the usual red-colored objects, but you don't need to take the route the game suggests. More backstory is given to Faith too if you were into the story in the first game.

As the title says, I just haven't been caught up in this game as of yet. Though that probably stems from the fact that this game is outside of my gaming zone. The controls of the game are not too difficult, but parts of the game I am retrying runs just to make it to the next area. So far, the story isn't very captivating though this may change in the future. If you are into time limits to finish side quests, this is a game for you.

Fun but sometimes a pain in the glass.

If you never played the first one you can still play this without being lost as it more or less catches the player up with flashbacks as the game progresses. Without giving details basically the hero character is a young woman named Faith who is a "runner" in a city called Glass that does different missions against the Conglomerate and KrugerSEC. It is a first person viewpoint but differs from other fp in that you can actually see her legs/feet which helps it feel like you're actually in the game. The pain of this game is the fact that the city as you've probably guessed is constructed from a lot of glass and when a big part of the game is quick and precise movement not being able to tell if there is a wall or doorway can be a real problem. Add to that the almost useless guidance system in a massive city that doesn't have enough distinctive features from building to building and it can sometimes get rather frustrating. That said it is worth playing and I would give it another half star if it were possible.

I have played this game for a few hours and believe it has a great concept. I never played the first installment to the franchise but I love the visualization and graphics EA always brings to the table. The control system and realization make it a game I would continue to play. There is a ton of stuff to do in the game with its open-world concept.

Mirrors Edge is a unique first person runner adventure ! Story line is not too far fetched and intrigues you to learn more about what will happen. Gameplay is very accurate to controls especially when your on the ledge jumping and swinging onto objects. Looks amazing on my 55 inch LG TV I can only imagine how it looks on a 4k screen.

The game play is fun, even if the controls sometimes don't cooperate (particularly when scaling walls vs running along them). The plot was fairly straightforward, but not offensively so. It was pretty fun, but I was ready to leave the world once the main story was finished.

I'm a fan of Mirror's Edge, so I was going to love the prequel no matter what pretty much. That being said, this game improves upon the original in just about every way. The open world setting and better story, help make this prequel a fun and exciting experience.

While many have shunned this game for not being as good as the first Mirror's Edge, this is a solid game. They did a good job keeping with the original feeling but expanding the world and missions. I'm not a huge fan of the racing missions since the 3 star ratings are very frustrating to get, but these are not required (except to get the platinum) and add some degree of replayability. These are also good for those that like to be competitive (which I am not with a game like this). But overall this is a great game with an engaging story.

It is fun for what it is. Mirror's Edge in open world. I like the open world idea, but I would strongly have preferred to be able to explore the mission exclusive areas out of mission. Having a sort of gps is pretty useful, but can ruin the fun.
