I was looking for a fitness fracker and sleep monitor. I was really curious about how much sleep I was getting. This does the trick for a fraction of others like it. It was very good at telling me deep and light sleep, and I feel it accurately tracks my steps each day. I like that it sets goals for you based on your activity. My only disappointment was that it says it's water resistant to 40 meters. It is NOT. I tried swimming with it and it ruined it. If they could get that fixed, it would really be about perfect! It does not track your pulse or heart rate. You will also need to download the free app. The app is compatible with the My Fitness Pal App, too. I recommend the black version. The white one shows too much dirt.

I love the concept of this item and I really was happy to see my sleep patterns. However, after about 1 to 2 weeks of use it will no longer sync to my phone. I have tried what the company has suggested but I am unable to get it to sync. Would love to have it working again. I miss using it!

Got this as a gift for my wife. She loved it. She had it a month before the band broke. Good luck finding another. They have them for the shine, but not the flash. Than it stopped working a week after that. Changed the battery and now it won't shut of, sync, or work. Working with Misfit about a replacement......Hoping for the best. I'll update as to the outcome.

I picked up my Misfit Flash the first day I could find one in a Best Buy store, I've been eyeing this since the announcement. This is a great product for anyone who wants to track their personal activities without looking just like everyone else. The nature of the device allows you to stand out a bit, the color choices, the style (wear it as a watch or a clip, maybe a necklace if they release similar accessories).
The watchband is made in such a way that it would comfortable fit me (a 200+ pound man) but also would fit and look fine on a smaller framed person. It is made of a plastic material which doesn't bother the skin. I haven't used the clip much other than to test it, but I can say that it held fine during testing.
The Flash itself works great, stays into the clip and the watchband very securely. Paired with my iOS device with no problem and is tracking me quite while.
I've already had one person stop me and ask about the device, even in the matte black finish it's eye catching.

I really enjoyed using my misfit. I enjoyed tracking my fitness and my progress. However, I've had my misfit since the end of May and wore it all the time when I ran/worked out, but yesterday it broke. The part that encapsules the actual device split in two :( I cannot use it anymore. It seems like one month of wearing it should not result in it breaking so easily. I'm disappointed.

Tracks activities like running, walking and swimming. It also tracks sleep.
cons: sleep tracking does not seem to work for me but it does work on girlfriends Flash. device is waterproof but not steam proof, can't use it in saunas or hot baths. manual is very minimal.

Broken strap after one day's use

The activity tracker itself, though basic, seems to be a good one. However, the wrist strap broke after only approximately 26 hours of wearing it - yep, the next day after I first put it on. I contacted the company and they send a replacement, which I just opened, and the replacement strap is broken! There is a piece broken out of the band, and the piece was not in the package, so it appears that the company sent out a broken band! Very frustrating!

This tracker is very affordable and does all the major functions you could want. It keeps track of steps taken, calories burned, and even hours of sleep. A simple app for the phone or computer lets you view your results. I find that every day, I am able to figure out what makes a good and productive workout. It's fun, like a game.

The Misfit Flash at less than $50 is as capable as it's more expensive and fancier big brother, the Misfit Shine which sells for twice the cost. While not made of metal like the Shine, the Flash comes in an array of fun neon colors. It has all the same features as the Shine and more then most fitness trackers that cost over $100. It is waterproof so you can swim laps with it, it has a watch battery that last 6 months without charging, it tracks your sleep and certain activities automatically. It links to My Fitness pal and overall works just fine.

Good Entry Level Device

Misfit flash is a good entry level device that tracks your activity and sleep. IPhone app works great and I could pair app with device in less than 5 minutes.
Here are the reasons for 3 stars:
1) Band does not have good quality. There was a smll crack in dial while putting dial in. I exchanged device in store. CSR accepted the exchange with expression that she is doing me a favor
2) device shows activity/sleep duration/quality sleep duration, but doesnot provide actionable insight (which I would expect from such devices - otherwise this is just a glorified pedometer)
Here are the reasons for not giving less than 3 stars:
1) Easy to use
2) Pairing of app with device is 2 minute affair
3) fairly accurate steps tracking and sleep tracking
4) innovative way to display time
5) no charging required (a big plus over other devices)

Came to this activitiy tracker after wanting to give one a try, but not wanting to drop $99+ on a Fitbit or another upper-level brand device, so I gave the Misfit Flash a go. I liked not having to charge a battery. I loved how it was waterproof and I didn't have to take it off all the time. I really loved how it showed me the time via dots placed around the face to simulate an analog watch face. The app was great, and the tracker seemed to be pretty accurate! The sleep tracking was spot-on almost every night for me as well. BUT... that was for only 2 weeks. Then the band broke on the bezel holding the tracker disc in. Now it is useless. The disc won't stay in place with a broken band, and I'm not spending more money to replace a band that only lasted 2 weeks!! And that was with only normal usage - I haven't done anything exceptional or wore the band too tight to put strain on it, or anything of that sort. Just wore it. That is just pathetic. This could have been a 5-star review - but I can't recommend this to anyone, with a band that will only last 2 weeks and then render the device useless. I was really starting to enjoy it too....

I love this tracker, it's light weight, easy to use, can track your swimming since it's waterproof unlike others, nice app, love the sleep tracker BUT I had to return my first one bc the band cracked for no reason and now I have to return the second one for the same issue. It literally cracked without any misuse or abuse. The band is way too flimsy. I'm trying to find a different band for it bc I do love the functionality of this tracker.

Best Device Not Simply for the Price

I lost my Fitbit HR and researched devices that would accurately track my cycling. I also plan to swim when the weather warms up and discovered that this device does it all. I purchased the Flash which is the least expensive ($19.99 on sale). Things I love about my Misfit include no need to charge it; extremely light weight so I forget I have it on; I don't have to tell it I'm going to sleep so it automatically tracks my sleeping pattern; accurately tracks my cycling and will track my swimming as well. I could go on. I would say that the price is the best feature but it is second to the functionality of the device.

I was looking into buying a fitbit or jawbone fitness band, but I wasn't sure how well I'd like it. I found this one on clearance and chose to buy it to see if I liked it before dropping money on more expensive ones. I was highly pleased with this product. I love that you don't have to charge it. I love that it also acts as a watch. It tracks sleep and steps and other activities just like other bands. It syncs with your phone wirelessly. I have since gotten a jawbone up band, but I still like the misfit better. You can also wear the fitbit in water. The only complaint I would have about it is the band is pretty cheap. Mine didn't break, but I feel like it easily could. Otherwise, it's a great product. It syncs with most apple fitness apps (like myfitness pal, apple health, etc.)

The product itself is excellent and lives up to what it says it will do. I have had a lot of fun tracking my steps and restful sleep hours. It has also provided me with renewed incentive to excerise. Since I bought this product I have lost 10 lbs. The only fall back is the thin plastic the misfit sits in. It just broke and has to be replaced

Pros:
-Cheap cost. I got this for $25 when it was on sale in January. The price for this can get pretty cheap so it might be worth waiting until the next sale.
-Point systems. I love (this is my favorite thing about it) that the misfit flash is about POINTS and not about steps. You get a different amount of points of the different activities you do (walking, running, basketball, tennis, soccer, swimming, etc.). Steps can be inaccurate; in fact for most trackers they are inaccurate (even this misfit flash on steps is inaccurate). The point system balances that out and helps you worry about actually being active rather than taking lots of steps.
-Recognizes different activities (knows what you're running or walking). You can program it for basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, and etc. Also knows and keeps track of when you sleep automatically.
-Heard you will soon be able to program this with your phone to take pictures and etc.
-waterproof (I never take mine off)
-blue tooth syncing (syncs w/out taking it off and plugging it into a usb).
-battery lasts 6 months (just like a watch; you just have to replace it twice a year for cheap. Recharging other activity trackers once every two-seven days is a hassle)
-lightweight, does not interfere with clothes and etc, and looks good
-tells you the time through 5 minute intervals
-wearing it as a watch makes it very easy
-good appp to go with it
-compete with your friends (this part is awesome)
-comes with clip and wrist band
Cons
-Does not know when you are working out (lifting weights)
-sometimes does not record your activity (say if you have it on your wrist and are pushing a shopping cart of a baby stroller, it has difficulty reading your movements)
-sometimes losses data when you sync [happened 3 times in the past 4 months, but I sync everyday]
-once you reach your goal and it blinks up, does not show you how much more you are progressing

Black Friday purchase as a gift for my 11 year old. He wanted a fit bit, but I didn't want to pay that much. Has an app that tracks steps and sleep. He wears it all the time. Display is not digital, but the dot system allows him to tell approximate time and approximate his steps without the app. Great for the price. Probably buying one for my seven year old next.

Awesome device to track both activity and sleep. The only reason it lost a star is because the band broke and the device seems like it will fall out. After market bands are available and I highly suggest getting one. The app is great and can be sync'd with other apps to micromanage health even more.
