This game is one of the funnest games I have played in some time. The platforming, controls, and puzzles are all very well done. It has absolutely beautiful graphics. The music is mesmerizing, with every song having a unique feel and fitting perfectly with each area that you explore. Boss fights are exciting and memorable. I really loved being able to change into different forms, each with their own set of special abilities. The equipment and shop system are great as well.
There are secrets hidden everywhere and many areas you can't access right away when you first come across them. This aspect feels very similar to the Metroid games (a huge plus). Also worth noting is the inclusion of an actual instruction manual and cool stickers with the game itself. I'm glad that there are still companies that put effort into their physical releases. If you are ready for something both new and old, you definitely can't go wrong with Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom!
