Great Simple Phone at a Great Price

Battery life and cost are the main reasons to get this phone, and both are great. This phone really does last the claimed 2 full days with normal usage; for me that is a few phone calls daily, a bunch of texts, browsing the web and Facebook for an hour or two daily, listening to an hour or two of podcasts daily, and using the camera and flashlight intermittently, as well as checking email from time to time. The phone is also synced to my Moto360 watch as well. The battery performance is FAR superior to the Note 4 I had AND the Note 5 my wife currently uses. I switched from a Galaxy Note 4 on Sprint to this phone, so I was concerned that I would miss the features and power from the Note 4 OR regret not going to a Note 5. However, I have not missed either. This is a much simpler version of Android OS, and as such it commands much less juice as compared to the Samsung offerings. Although it has 2GB of RAM, 1 less than the Note 4, they both have around 1 GB free after OS and background apps are considered, so the Maxx 2 doesn't suffer much. Compared to the Note 4, I cannot notice any difference in performance in normal usage, but I also do not Netflix or game on my phone. The screen looks sharp and is actually easy to see in the full sun. The onboard memory is only 16GB but is expandable, a feature lost on many other phones. I miss the S Note and phablet features, but the smaller size makes it more comfortable to hold and stow in my pocket. All in all, a 2 day battery, $384 price tag, expandable memory, sharp screen, and simple android platform make this a wonderful phone for someone looking for an affordable, long-lasting phone that gets the job done.

I got this phone for a 2 year upgrade from a Droid Maxx. The battery life is pretty good but memory wise it was a downgrade. I went from a 32gb to a 16gb. If it was larger memory wise I'd give it a better rate. 3/5
