...does well what it promises in tracking steps, telling time, showing phone notifications. The battery lasts only a day and a half, which means nightly charging. Clear, bright screen.

My wife and I both have Moto 360 Sport watches. I also own a first generation Moto 360. I love the build quality of the Moto 360 Sport. I feel it does a decent job of tracking my exercise. I am not a heart rate tracking freak like some people may be. I am not necessarily looking for the most accurate heart rate. I am looking for something that is just consistent across multiple workouts and I feel this watch does that.

The good: For me this watch checked all the boxes.
Style: I wanted a round watch, so that it did not scream smart watch, which this does well. It is not a elegant or customizable as the other Moto 360 watch, but it looks good enough to wear around in almost all situations. The silicone band is comfortable and perfect for working out.
Untethered workouts: I wanted to be able to run, without having to carry my phone with me. This watch has built in GPS to support run tracking. I have used some other running apps, but many either don't yet support onboard GPS for the watch, or are not as smooth to use. I found myself using the built in run tracking app, which does a good job of displaying necessary data while working out.
Untethered music: What's the point of running without a phone if you can't listen to music? I use Google Play Music, so I was able to sync the playlists onto my watch and listen using the blue tooth headphones.
Android Wear: integrates pretty well with my android phone.
Battery life: I usually wear it from morning until bed, and I usually have about 30-40% battery left. I don't mind charging every night, because I have to do it for my phone anyway.
Bonus: The hybrid display works phenomenally well. When in direct sunlight I can see everything crystal clear. No more covering and squinting. That is probably one of my favorite features, and I didn't even know I wanted it until I used it.
The bad:
The major issue I have had with this is that after owning for about 5 months, my watch decided to restart, and go into a boot loop. It would come out of it for a little bit, but eventually it just kept going and would never stop. I had to get a replacement (it was within the one year warranty). When searching online, I only found one other report on the issue, so it may not be very common.
The built in activity tracking is just OK, but you can use Google fit or other apps if you prefer.
Overall: This is not a hardcore runner's watch, but more of a daily watch that you can also use to track your runs. It would be better if there were more options to analyze the runs after.

Think Motorola hit the nail on the head with this watch. It has the right mix of fitness and smart watch features. It is very comfortable to wear all day and does everything as advertised.
Pros: good battery life, easy charging, GPS, HRM, comes with good apps and watch faces to get started, comfortable to wear all day.
Cons: no speaker, silicone strap attracts dust.

I previously had samsung gear 2 which ran android 1.3. Moto 360 sport works well and is super comfortable. Negatives - battery dies before end of the day, you have to be relatively close to your phone for it to stay connected and the strap is not user replaceable.

I purchased this watch For both its smartwatch functionality and the ability to take it to the gym for workouts. It does everything I need in a smartwatch with the exception of being able to take calls on it; but that is a feature that Google has only recently added to smartwatches that have speakers (which this one does not) Aside from that I find it to be accurate and the GPS is accurate and quickly locks on the few times I have taken it for a run outside the gym.
I haven't loaded music onto it, so I can't speak to that, but other than that I only have two negatives to say about it.
First, I would like a larger battery. It does last me a full day but, if I didn't have to charge it every day I would be happier.
And second, It is not waterproof. It has the same water resistance as the non sport model, which I think is a mistake. I believe that a sports watch should be waterproof.
That being said. I am happy with my purchase. And I find it a more complete solution than most of the other options out there.
And I would purchase again.

This watch had nearly everything needed for a successful smart watch. Compatibility and interoperability was great. GPS signal was above average fire other watches in it's class. Ability to connect Bluetooth headphones to the watch and leave your phone behind was awesome. The only drawbacks were battery life (less than 12-16 hours of life if used heavily, like hiking for several hours or running multiple times per day) and it's not waterproof (it's ok for a quick rain, but not for downpours, showers, or swimming). If you will always be near an outlet overnight and don't plan to be in the rain for an extended period of time, this watch will be fine.

I want to find an Android wear smart watch that can also do fitness. I mostly walk and jog. I'm not a gym goer. I prefer the walk and jog outdoor. This is perfect. I can leave my phone behind and the GPS works perfectly and I can also listen to music files stored on the watch through my Bluetooth headphone. I really don't like Google music app for the music function. It is too much hassle. The watch have to be almost 100% full charge to even start transfering files. I use the Wear Media - Music Gallery App. Its so much easier to use, but its a paid apps if you don't want ads. No ads on the watch though. The only CONS I can think of is the silicone band. I'm fine with non-interchangeable band, but it always look dusty. Its a dust magnet. I usually rinse off the band before sleep. Battery is fine for me. I usually take off from the charger at around 9AM and I put it back to charge at around 2AM. I usually use the GPS for about 1hr daily. It usually has about 20% battery left, so its fine for me.

I guess that is an obvious statement, most things are, but they did well with this one. I am glad I got the sport model instead of just the Moto 360 2nd gen, it has a few things I really like.
First, the any light display is amazing, no matter how bright it is outside, you can see the screen perfectly. They need this on any new smart watch that comes out.
Second, built in GPS, don't need a phone connected to get accurate location results.
The only downsides I have noticed. The screen on the sport model is a little smaller than the Moto 360 2nd gen. Also, the black band is a dust and dirt magnet. I ended up giving the black one to the wife and I bought the orange (fire) one for myself.
She is not as OCD about that stuff as I am, so the black works well for her. She also loves the watch, so I guess it was a win/win.

I'm really liking the new Moto Sport watch. I can use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to connect to my phone, play music from Pandora, Spotify, or Google Music, track my daily steps and routines, and of course actual workouts. The GPS works pretty well and I even tested it to find my phone. It does use up a lot of watch and phone battery when you first upload everything so make sure your phone is plugged in and the watch is fully charged before starting. The only thing that I'd change is to make a slightly smaller version for women. Luckily I'm not petite and it looks ok, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with small wrists.

This was the first smartwatch I was interested in getting. I did some googling and read reviews. The watch is well-built and comfortable and does everything it's supposed to do. The screen is clear and the colors are vibrant. It is very comfortable to wear. Battery life is good. I like the convenience of seeing notifications without opening my phone. There are many different watch faces to choose from. I like the Moto sport watch face because it shows my daily progress with exercise. I chose the white band and am very happy with it. Also, I love the charging cradle. Once the watch is charged it's a little clock that displays the time. I recently got the Google wear software update which has dose and some other improvements.

This is my first smart watch so I don't know a lot about all the bells and whistles you can get on these things. I do really like the band for it's ease of cleaning, I work in an ER and things get messy so the rubber band was a must. So far I have had a lot of fun playing with it. Battery life is pretty good I charge it while I sleep and have only ran the battery down once. I will say the cradle charger it comes with is a bit temperamental, I had issues with the mini usb coming out and I not placing the watch on it right to charge.
All in all I like it. I do wish it could make calls like some of the other ones but the text to talk is nice and mostly accurate, sadly it's better on my watch than on my phone.

The Moto 360 Sport is the best reasonably priced smartwatch I have found. The original Moto 360 fell short in many ways, and the second gen improved most of them, including battery life and responsiveness. The Sport version is essentially the same 2nd gen watch, just wearing outdoor play clothes.
All in all, it's your average smartwatch in that it is a notification panel for your smartphone. If you are ok with that, you'll be satisfied with the watch. If you already had a smartwatch but wanted something tougher or more activity focused without paying over $300, this watch is for you.
It has a couple added features that differentiate it from the regular Moto 360 2nd Gen. The screen has an always-on mode that is high-contrast black and white, almost like the Kindle Paperwhite tablet. It's really quite well done. The silicon band is better for sweating and wearing during activities. The heart rate sensor is much improved. The activity tracking/pedometer is also better. The internal GPS also allows you to track your activities without toting the smartphone along for the workout. It also comes with its on Moto activity tracking software, and offers watch faces with Moto or Google Fit data built into the face.
Upsides - comfortable band that flexes with you, decent/acceptable battery life, always-on high-contrast screen visible in any light.
Downsides - It still has the 'flat tire' at the bottom of the screen. The silicon band is a dust magnet and really does't look great when dressing up even a little bit. The band is not removable, it's moulded around the watch itself. And the band collects not only dust, but skin cells and can get pretty gross if you don't take a q-tip & alcohol to it regularly.
The watch is tough, reliable, and has a good battery. It's also available at some really good deals if you take your time and look for it.

This watch does a lot for the price I paid. It was one of the nicer smart watches out there & I got it on clearance for $135! It looks great and I love the watch faces from which I can choose. The Moto running app with GPS is great too. I do wish you could organize what apps actually show up on the watch easier. The app for the watch is pretty useless. Overall, it connects with my phone and has some great features. I wouldn't pay $200 for it though. Glad I got such a good deal.

This has been a great watch. So far it has b3en very rugged, I wear it working as a career firefighter and haven't had any issues with it. A few days after I got it the pushed out the latest update and this thing has been great. I really like that I can keep step counts with it and not have to have my phone on me. I use the Google fit option over the Motorola health one and have no issues with it. The only thing I don't care for on this watch is that I have to charge it nightly, but all of the watches I looked at didn't last much more than a day. The notifications work great too. At timessage I'll feel my watch vibrating for a call or text before my phone alerts. The only thing I'd change on the watch is adding a speaker for audible notifications. Good job overall motorola.

Came in to switch from Samsung Gear 2 Nano (another fantastic product!) to the Samsung Gear S2 but ended up with this one after talking to an associate. This one has so many more apps that are compatible with the watch. My one and only complaint is that it doesnt show a time stamp when your txt, email, or call came in. The automatic light adjustment is fantastic. The band is really comfortable. Fitness apps are much more comprehensive and accurate. Uses OK Google instead of SVoice(what Gear S2 uses)... which sucks as you know if you've used it before.
