I recently got a new job that required me to use a smart phone, and even would pay the cost up to $200. I was already in a contract with a flip phone so I found the best cell phone under $200 and this was it.
Pros: Great sound, great picture, great speed.
Cons: Battery life seems a bit short, only comes with 8 GB internal memory.
I don't regret buying this phone one bit, and would recommend it to others.

This phone purchase was for my parents. I am a long time iphone user, and for them, this is their first smart phone experience. First, I amazed at the quality of this phone for the price. It is a third of the price of an iphone, and it is a solid quality phone. It is very sturdy, and the screen is very vivid. The touch screen is also very responsive - I did not notice any delay in responsiveness at all.
The phone was very easy to setup, and very easy to show my parents how to use it. This purchase has made me now contemplate buying the same phone for myself. It is a great phone!

The Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) is the second version of the Moto G, this time with a slightly larger screen and an exterior design renovated. It has a 720p 5-inch screen, processor quad-core Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, rear camera of 8 megapixels and 2 MP front, microSD slot, 8GB or 16GB of storage, Digital TV (in certain markets) and front speakers. It is a great phone at a great price

Best Value Phone on the Market Today

No other phone provides the performance and quality of the Moto G 2nd Gen in this price range. This is an unlocked phone that can be used as a replacement for any GSM carrier as well as used in most countries with local carriers micro SIM cards. While LTE data speeds are lacking the phone supports up to 21 Mbs GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA+. My experience on T-Mobile averages around 10Mbs.
The stingy 8GB internal storage can be easily overcome with up to 32GB of micro SD card storage - I used the Kingston Digital 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s for $15.
The current software is Android™ 5.0 Lollipop and while not as clean as stock Gioogle software available in the Nexus line, it is pretty close.

Its a good phone relative to its price. Not sure if the BB site still says its 4G capablre, but that's not the case with this phone. But still a capable phone for basic use.

This phone is a good phone for anyone who is on a budget but still requires a phone with premium quality. The camera is great for normal usage and the phone runs Lolipop. Now what more could you be asking for

Like a lot of hard core Smartphone Users, I've either lost or damaged a few phones and that was the case when I went looking for a cheap place holder until I got a new high end phone. I got a pre-paid Samsung Core Prime at first, but you get what you pay for as it was very slow and other issues. I saw this phone was on sale for $10 more and read good things so I went for it. I was and still am, very surprised about how great it is! It's fast, reception is great, data is fast enough and it even has a SD Card slot that reads my 200GB SD Card. Flaws would be Battery Life and Processor, bit that's being real picky and comparing against high end phones. If I would make a suggestion its to spend the extra $120 for the newer version with 2GB of RAM, which I'm doing and giving this to my Mom! Great Buy if you're looking to get a great phone and don't want to spend too much.

So much quicker and responsive than my entry level Alcatel. GPS pinpoints you quickly on maps. Both cameras work easy and surprisingly well in low light, focusing as close as a couple inches. Web pages load so quickly that most special Apps are not really needed, and it doesn't come pre-loaded down with many. Cell, wifi & Bluetooth range are all good. A data plan is not required if you can access wifi, so a simple pay-as-you go plan for very *light* users can be had for as little as $3 a month from T-Mobile. This phone recently upgraded itself to Android Marshmallow with only 1 annoying problem; after the upgrade it was set into "Hearing Aid" mode! Somehow the upgrade turned that on (which turns off the earpiece and mike when making calls) and unless you use speakerphone mode, Bluetooth, a wired headset or actual hearing aid, you can't hear or talk! I had to go into the *Dialer* settings menu, Accessibility, & turn off the "Hearing Aid" mode! Aside from that minor issue I've been very happy with it.

It was suggested to us to find an inexpensive unlocked phone to replace one a phone that had a screen which had been completely shattered. This has really nice features, it is easy to use and has a very good camera.

I have been using another device for about 3 months and I could not stand the amount of loaded apps from the manufacturer. I thought this was quite invasive and I am very unhappy with it. So I decided to buy a Moto G 2nd Generation. To my surprise, even with the 3G HSPA speeds, it was not lacking connectivity or any level of performance compared to my new high end smart phone that I bought. The Moto G 2nd generation phone was something as close to a stock android phone that you can buy - and this was exactly what I wanted. The sound is so clear when playing music, the phone itself is quick and shows no sign of lag. All I did was put my AT&T sim card into the Moto G Second Gen and I was ready to go (I had to call AT&T to reset my voicemail was the only downfall). I am so impressed and made this my primary device. I don't think I will ever go back to buying a phone under contract again!

This is simply the best phone avail be for under $200, in fact it's probably the best phone available for under $400. Buying unlocked phones is the only way to go.

I got this on sale $80. Not cheap but won't break the bank. Phone works great. Not terribly pleased with the fact that the battery can't be removed, but we'll worry about that when it actually dies ... hopefully not for a few years. Only complaint with the software is it heavily pushes Google Now which I don't find helpful. Also, unlike my old HTC Aria, it doesn't allow custom SMS notification tones for specific contacts. Everyone gets the same tone. Not a big deal, but annoying. Workaround is to use Hangouts as the SMS default ... but Hangouts ...

If you're looking for a good value phone. This phone fills the bill. For less than $!80, you get a quality full function smartphone running Lollipop OS. The fact that it 3G and not 4G LTE might be a problem for some but for me, it works fine. I've used this phone on both T-Mobile and AT&T with no problems. Well made and reliable. I can't ask for more, given the price.

I purchased this phone to replace an LG G2 that had gone bad through a manufacturing defect (that conveniently went bad after the warranty had expired). So far, this Moto G 2nd generation has been great. Really easy to customize, especially if you get the Air Droid app that allows for wireless access to the phone from a computer - the charger that comes with it is not a USB charger. Very ruggedly built, too. I was able to get all of my app data transferred very easily as well. I also figured out a great feature to screen unwanted calls - I created a contact called "Block" and since you can add as many numbers to a contact as you want, every time I get a telemarketing call from a new number I just add it to the "Block" contact. The other part of this is under the customization menu for the contact you can choose to have calls from this contact go straight to voicemail, so it doesn't even ring your phone. Goodbye aggravating telemarketers!

The Moto G 2nd Gen is my first smartphone. It has worked very well for me for the month that I have used it. I use it with TMobile and I often get about 10 Mbps download speed in the Tampa, FL area.
The screen is clear but a little hard to see in bright sunlight. The camera has worked pretty good for taking pictures in good light.
I have used the phone to stream video with several different apps without any major problems.
Very happy with my purchase and I get a lot of interest from people when they see the phone.

I have owned my Moto G 2 since January '15. I am still checking out all of the features and it's performance. So far this phone is excellent in all categories with exception of the battery life and camera which is still good just not excellent. We can't add any external memory card to it, other than that it is all good.
I did a lot of research and could not find much bad reviews about this phone. All the tech sites were really high on this phone.
The Moto G 2 is worth the money you spent.
