Best Budget Cellphone with Great Battery Life

When my Apple iPhone died (again), I decided to switch to an Android cellphone. At first, I planned to get a new Samsung Galaxy 10, but they are pricey, so I looked at other options. A Best Buy store clerk showed me the Motorola Moto G7 Power with amazing battery life and I was astonished at the low cost for what appeared to be an excellent cellphone with long battery life. Now that I have been using it, I am not disappointed. Battery life is 2 to 3 days of normal use and functions, although I am still learning some of them. The only faults I have with this cellphone are the somewhat lower quality display and camera resolution, but I can live with those for the incredible low price. We plan to replace my wife's iPhone with the same cellphone in the future. NEVER will we return to the over-price and under-supported iPhones!

This phone is very sleek and stylish and compares to even the most expensive of their kind sold today! The camera is easy to use and set up for a beginner just getting their first Mobil phone! Also being water proof is wonderful considering the first day I brought it home I accidentally dropped it into my kitchen sink full of dish water! It still works perfectly! The cost is fair and the performance alone is worthy of comparison to more expensive of their kind today! This is my first Motorola phone and I can honestly say I'm proud to own one! I have started a huge collection of photos which is no problem for the 32 GB built in memory! One satisfied customer! Thanks Motorola!

The Moto G7 Power is an excellent phone for the money. Big bright screen, easy to operate, good audio, takes good pictures. Buying it at Best Buy was easy. It was the first unlocked phone for me. The Best Buy associate knew how to get my phone onto my existing AT&T plan. It all went well. And I got a good price on the phone as well.

This phone is pretty good, being that it's not a flag ship phone. Very little bloatware makes it nice too, and the battery is un believable. I can play games for hours, and fall asleep with the screen on. When I wake, the battery is only down to 50%. Also make sure and get a case. I broke my first power in a car accident, after only two weeks of ownership. It is a bit bulky, but bullet proof.

Motorola - Moto G7 Power phone purchased to use with Square for trade show sales. Initial Best Buy price appeared to be great. Price got even better when associate made suggestions to save more money. Associate provided great service by doing complete phone set up. Including how to set facial recognition and fingerprint ID. Trickiest part of the phone was that new technology. Now, we need to explore all the possibilities on Moto that are familiar on old smart phones. Choice of service providers for unlocked phone is a big plus. Friends who have other brand expensive phones said "Wow!"

Bought this phone for myself. It is perfect for me. I really like it and would buy again. I bought a cover for it that is very lightweight and it is almost the same color blue as my phone. Great phone.. Purchased on 11/5/2020

This is the second one that I have bought. I dropped my first one off the roof of my house while fixing a leak. The phone is so awesome that I bought another one. Full disclosure, I also own a Pixel 3 (work phone) so I know what I'm talking about. The resolution is low, yes. But I have my display set to "small" and the sizing is now like the pixel. If I put both next to each other and stare really hard, I can tell that the G7 Power has lower resolution. But just barely. Body: The phone is thick. And it's long. But not much longer than the Pixel 3. It is very thick when compared to the Pixel, however, I have it in a case anyways and I really don't care how thin my phones are. Battery: The battery is PHENOMENAL. I recently went to Hawaii on vacation and I used GPS, played music, took tons of pictures and by the end of the day I would have 6 hour screen on time and the phone did not go below 50%. That's FIFTY PERCENT. Just crazy. Speed: This phones feels fast for almost everything. It's not blazing like the Pixel, but unless you are using some crazy software you will not notice. I have tried games like Asphalt 8 and Shadowgun Legends and it ran fine, just with lower graphics settings. Camera: The default camera is mediocre at best. BUT WAIT. This phone is 64 bit can employs the Camera2 API so you can use the modded PIXEL CAMERA with it. Yes, the same camera app that continuously takes pictures and stitches them all together to give you an amazing picture can be installed on this phone. With that app, the camera is AMAZING. I can't post a link to it, but just google this "Google Camera Port: back.rider". Then download the APK and install it. You can always go back, won't mess up your phone. And yes, Night Sight works too. The pictures are very comparable to the Pixel 3. The pixel 3 wins out, but just BARELY. Note that this phone does not have a separate CPU that processes images (like iPhones and the Pixel 3). So when you take a picture you will see a "processing HDR" notification in the status bar. This is when it is doing the stitching of the pictures together. You can take multiple pictures no problem, it will not bog the phone down. It will just take a while for all the pictures to process. I have taken hundreds of pictures in Hawaii with it and never had a problem. System Updates: I've had this phone since January 2019. I've received security patches for March 2019, May 2019, and June 2019. So far, this has received more updates than most of my other Moto phones! And I've owned a lot of them. Hopefully the security patches continue. As for Android updates to Android Q, I have no hope of that happening. So in summary: it's a phone that will last all day, has plenty of speed, takes great pictures with the Google Camera APK, and has had good updates so far. Oh, and it's only $200. So compared to the $800 Pixel 3 that I got through work, it is a great buy.

The 2-3 day battery life is simply a marvel. Not having charge anxiety throughout the day is honestly liberating, and now I can't imagine having a phone without this battery life. It has a very bright, attractive display that even at 720p, from a distance, looks great, and I've had 1440p displays with my previous phones. The display quality was perhaps my biggest concern as a downgrade, but I was very pleased with the results (you can even hide the notch under the developer settings, which makes it look more like a Pixel 3). Also even with 3GB of ram, this thing flies. Flawlessly running multiple apps at the same time, I'm impressed with the results for a phone in this price range. Great front facing speaker. Camera quality is okay at best, but made MUCH better with GCam installed. I really don't have any complaints. The battery life is mind blowing though. This is perhaps the best investment I've made for a phone and I would honestly recommend it to everyone.

My old android was taking too long to think about anything - press a (virtual) key on the keyboard, and it would think about it for several seconds before it typed a letter. And a full charge might last to 3 p.m. Time for a new phone. But didn't want to pay too much. Saw good reviews on Toms Hardware and CNet for this phone, and it was on sale at Best Buy. The only problem was that the best deal was online - could not get it for the same price at the store. $50 difference. So got it on line, picked up in store. But I'd been holding the same phone in the store, along with some accessories, and had to put them all back on the shelf to get the full discount on the purchase price. The change-over from the old phone was pretty simple, using the included Verizon SIM card (though it's unlocked, SIM cards for Verizon and ATT, maybe others, are available with the purchase). Your carrier may charge you for the phone change (mine gave me a one-time $40 charge, but helped out with the changeover for free). Verizon has a nice little content transfer app that allowed me to move all my apps over from the old phone to the new one. It may also work for other carriers - worth a test, at least. The screen has a tendency to try to dim out (saves battery, you can easily over-ride), but other than a few quirks like that, the phone is very clear, easy to use, and I've had almost no problems. I have had a couple instances where the keystroke lag was noticeable, but they have been rare. It took a bit of getting used to, going from an LG to this Motorola, primarily because of the features that Motorola includes on the phone - but I've gotten used to them, and appreciate most of them. One or two just seem cute, and not very useful. But, for instance you can peek at your messages or emails while the phone is still locked, tapping the side of the phone shows if there's new activity and displays the current time, and flipping the phone over puts it into do-not-disturb mode. That last is great - but won't work on a glass tabletop. From a full charge, the battery took 5 days to get down to 15% charge! I'm not a huge screen user, but typically can get 4 or 5 days of use, several hours of screen time (mainly e-mail, texting, a few apps, and phone calls) per charge. And the charger is quick - a couple hours and you're back to nearly full. I've read recommendations to NOT bring it back to 100% charge, but to somewhere north of 80%, and I've been doing that. But even going between 90% battery and 20% battery, i get 4 days or more between charges. That's sooooo much better than what I had before. And this is in use in an office where lots of phones have a hard time picking up signal, and batteries die quickly. The major goal with this selection was to get a good battery on the phone, and this model really fits the bill. While it's still early (only had it a month), I'd really recommend this phone for anyone looking for a nice budget phone that has a decent feature set.

I was a little leery about changing from a high-dollar premium phone like a Samsung S6 to a well-priced Moto G7 Power but I sure am glad I did. This is my favorite phone ever. My two biggest complaints about the S6 were battery life and screen brightness in bright sunlight. The battery life on this phone is extraordinary. I have never had to recharge during the day no matter how much I use the phone that day. And seeing the screen in bright sunlight is so much better than my previous phone. The camera in this phone is fine for what I use it for and this phone does everything I need it to do. This is a great phone especially when you factor in the price.

I bought this phone for myself. It had easy set up and was ready to go in no time at all. When I start with a full charge, I can leave it unplugged for 3 days and only be at 80%. I love this about this phone. I bought a cover with a belt clip as I do a lot of outside work and it is easy to use and carry at all time. I really like it. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone that doesn't have time to charge their phone all of the time. It makes super clear calls and the camera is amazing.

I originally had a Moto G4 and loved it! Was my first smart phone. After a few years and the 9 million updates they seem to love to have us put on such things, it was getting fairly full. I'm not your typical cell phone user. I'm not on it all the time. Generally I have it on when myself, or my wife and I travel, or when I'm at work I have it on breaks but that's about it. So in reality it doesn't get a ton of use but it's there whenever I need it. We stopped by Bestbuy on a trip and looked at what they had. There were a couple models above this on display. One a bit more, the other quite a bit more. The one for a bit more said it had more memory. This one a bit less memory but the charge would last for days! The sales person said this would be a great choice in the range we wanted money wise, and we could still, within that range, add more memory with a card which would make it have more than the one for a good bit more money. So that's what we did... and now I have tons of memory for all those wonderful updates they force on us all, plus I can give it a full charge then not have to worry about it for a week or even longer at my rate of use. There are a few things I've had to get used to. It's a bit larger than my G4, some of the sounds, etc., are a bit different. I've had to get used to some of the setup, new apps, etc. But I chalk that up to something we all have to do with new things. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone looking to get a nice smart phone for an excellent price. It has great cameras, front and back and unlike the G4 it can vary the pics... even doing panorama, slow mo, time lapse and one to post things to Youtube live, as well as some filters... just all sorts of added options. Has all the other standard features everyone is used to such as Bluetooth, etc. Just a great all around phone and one that won't break the budget.

I purchased this device as my main go to for calls texts and e-mail. I was impressed especially the options for the price range. The battery last for such a long time between charges it's remarkable. Some reviews were negative about the screen resolution and sound but it is very good and takes nice pictures as well. If you prefer not to spend a fortune but you use it for various tasks this phone is winner! Best Buy associate was very helpful in helping with activation. Great experience!

New to Motorola/Lenovo. My trusty old Samsung Galaxy Reverb finally gave up the ghost after six years. I had wanted a new Samsung to replace it because that was what I was used to, but I didn't care for any of the currently available Samsung options in the price range I wanted to pay. So I researched many other possibilities and decided the Moto G7 Power might be a good choice instead for about $200. I also decided to go with an unlocked phone instead of having to tied to a particular carrier. I've only had the phone for about ten days, and am still learning my way around it, but so far I'm happy. The phone is fast and responsive, has a nice display, good camera, and many options that are new to me to play around with. I'm by no means a techie type, and probably the phone has several functions that I won't use, but it's nice to know that they're there just the same should I want to use them in the future. Best Buy rep was very patient and knowledgeable in getting my new account set up with ATT. I believe that I made a good choice for my needs with the Moto G7 Power. It seems to have a lot of features that one would expect to see only on higher end phones, but at a reasonable price point.

Sold My S20 Ultra For This Phone

I purchased this to use with Mint Mobile. Prior to this, I had a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. I absolutely hated that phone. For the reasons that I love this phone. This phone is SO simple, and basic, for a smartphone. I miss the days of a small phone fitting in my pocket - or cute clutch. When I didn't have to worry so much about cracking the screen. This phone allows me to make calls, send texts, have email pushed through, and surf the internet. Basic needs. I like simple, and uncomplicated. This phone provides all of that. The S20 Ultra has a huge 108mp camera, that Samsung made out to be a huge deal. This phone doesn't, and I love the camera on this phone. Motorola isn't advertising a feature that doesn't work. The Ultra absolutely did not live up to it's hype. No, the camera quality isn't mind blowing on this phone. I didn't buy it for the camera. The size and screen is smaller, phone is lighter than many of the smartphones on the market; but it is just as fast, and works just as well. Not having a locked phone means I don't have a phone filled with bloatware, which makes it fast. I highly recommend this phone, especially if you have a strict, Covid-19 budget, or you just want something simple, and uncomplicated.
