Customers enjoy the Moto Z3 Play for its budget-friendly price, impressive camera quality, and speedy performance. The phone's long battery life and unlocked status for all providers are also highly praised. While some users wish it had a headphone jack and more internal storage, these drawbacks do not overshadow the phone's overall positive reception.

I love it. Ordered it Christmas day and it was at my door 2 days later. Universally unlocked. Can drop any sim in and its compatible, gsm or cdma. 4 gb ram. Screen pops, beautiful super amoled. Solid cam. No bloatware. The phone zips thru multiple task. Unique design. Cool features and gestures. Ive always liked Motorola. Ive had a galaxy s8+ when it first came out, ive a lg g4 and g5 when they were top of the line. For the money, pound for pound, this is the nicest phone ive ever owned. Exciting mods, running on pie. I think im a Motorola man from here on out. I would recommend it to anyone. What you get for the money (compare it yourself) is the hottest deal going. Thats my opinion.

I'm a tech guy and love the latest devices. But let's face facts, Processor speed on devices has not increased much over the last few years. Displays are only incrementally better. Storage memory is a game changer and is getting faster and cheaper every day. Long battery life and quick charging are at the top of my list to stay connected. I don't need to tell you the specs, you can see them online. The "killer app" is that the Moto Z3 starts at half the price of a Samsung or Apple Device. Motorola have simply followed the 80/20 rule. To get above today's 80th percentile of tech you will spend exponentially more for little gain. This phone just 12 to 24 months ago would have be mind blowing and in the top 90th percentile. Now it is simple "great" and cost effective. There are only two three devices that are better at any price. A slightly better spec device today is $1,200. At this sale price, it was a steal at $200. Grab one, put it your carry on bag and go spend the other $1,000 on an epic trip somewhere life changing.

Ok, my last 2 phones were a Galaxy S5 and a HTC10. Got it! No problem I understand, those were older generation phones. However, once I turned on the MOTO Z3 Play and started getting all of the Androids update (9.0), I was amazed by the speed, reponsiveness and interface not to mention the quality built of this amazing phone. This might not be a so called "flagship" phone but, for the price it's most definitely the best bergain I had in years when purchasing a NEW phone. YES, it's a NEW phone for only a fraction of what you will end up paying if you purchase the other brands. I wasn't a huge fan of Motorola till I purchased the MOTO Z3 Play. Thank you Bestbuy for this incredible deal.

I gave it 4 because I didn't realize the back was like a mirror which makes it kinda slippery and awkward to hold on to. Got a case, problem solved. I charge it every other day so that's pretty good. Plan on ordering the projector mod. Great pictures. My wife liked mine so much she ordered herself one the next day.

When it comes first time it was overpriced. But for $150 it one of the best phones. Camera is not the best, withot OIS, but for this price it makes very good pictures (not in Low Light). This phone unlocked for all providers. I use it with AT&T prepaid. And call sound much better than in unlocked Galaxy S8. For T-Mobile it should be good - it support 71 band. For my usage battery enough for the whole the day. And this phone support fast charging.
This phone has also minuses.
1) Fragile front and back glass. This phone uses old Gorilla Glass 3.
2) Lack of 3.5 audio jack (it has USB-C to 3.5 Jack converter in the box)

Phone is very nice and sleek. Has the necessary functions I need, minus the wireless charge function. (Part is for Moto Mods) Two rear cameras are a nice touch (12MP+5MP) and fun with AR+ functionality.
No silly camera notches or crazy amount of bloatware. It is also upgradable to Android 9.0 through OTA (If your carrier supports it) or using Lenovo's software. (News say Motorola may have Android 10 ready for this model in first quarter of 2020?)
Don't expect too much if you want hardcore mobile gaming but it still does a dang good job with 4GB Ram and Snapdragon 636 processor. It's very capable of simple to midrange mobile gaming. You can add extra memory via Micro SD card and tell photo software to use Micro SD to save the phone's internal storage.
Overall, this is pretty good savings if you buy with or without service. I would not pay full retail for this though, so only pay that much extra on a better fully fledged out phone with extra features you might use.

I purchased this phone to present as a gift. I love it as much as she does through its ease of use. After having trouble connecting the smartphone, but it was through no fault of the phone. I was also allowed to update to Android 9 through a computer program led software update. FYI: put base a case immediately as the back of the phone is glass. Just polish it, case it and screen protect it and you're good to go. Plus, the phone is made to change phone companies without the hassle of purchasing a compatible phone from the company.
This is a great phone for the price that I paid for in sale!

I Love It! Get an SD Card for Expandable Storage..

The Moto Z3 Play 32GB is a perfect budget phone if you want something with an excellent AMOLED display, clean Android with very few Moto apps, fast enough for daily tasks, very good cameras, and a beautiful looking phone.
The 32GB of storage was my only concern when I bought the Z3 Play but, I got a fast 64GB SD Card to expand the storage and, now I have plenty of storage on my phone for all my apps and files. I was worried because the Z3 Play did not have the SD Card Format As Internal option enable in Android 8.1 Oreo (the Android installed from the box) but, I was very happy to find out that as soon as the Z3 got the update to Android 9 Pie, the SD Card Format As Internal option was enabled, making possible to expand the storage for apps, files, and Android system. You will need to update the phone several times to get the Android 9 Pie because the Z3 Play comes from the box without the current update from Motorola. By the time of this review, the last update I did after setting up the phone was the November 2019 security patch from Motorola. It took me literally like 6 or more updates to get the last one.
Talking about the store again, be aware that you will need a fast SD Card, preferably an A2 class (fast for apps), for less impact on the speed of the storage for apps but, if you get a good fast SD Card and format as internal, you will not be disappointed. You will have a very nice capable phone for much less than the 64GB Z3 Play and still with plenty of storage for your apps.
I recommend getting a case as quickly as possible because this is a very slippery phone. You can find plenty of cases online and, If you want to eventually get some Moto Mods, you can find some cases mod-friendly too.
I'm using my Z3 Play on the T-Mobile network and, I can say that the signal has been very good so far. No drop calls or any other signal related problems at all. This phone has a good WiFi connection also and is fast too.
In resume, I recommend getting the Moto Z3 Play to anyone looking for a good looking and fast phone, with excellent specs for the price, expandable storage capability, beautiful AMOLED display, very good cameras, and clean Android experience and believe me you will not be disappointed.

This phone suits my needs fine and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. As I'm not a person that needs all the latest tech, I stayed with a phone that knew something about. I had the first edition Moto Z and was very pleased with it. If you're like me, you can't go wrong with this phone. The things I don't like are this phone is thicker and heavier than my original. Also, it still requires a special adapter cord for the headphones.

Great unlocked Android phone for the price. You definitely need a case or Moto mod to cover the connections on the back of the phone. Nice features of the Moto actions to trigger flashlight or camera. Blue light filter is also nice feature. I would recommend this phone for anyone looking for a good unlocked phone, memory and ram is only reason not 5 stars

I wanted this phone when it first came out but the processor wasn't the greatest at the price point. I ended up getting a phone with higher specs for the same price. When I saw this phone was on sale during Xmas time I went ahead and purchased it. Now its become my daily driver even though I technically downgraded it doesn't feel like I did. All the games I play and apps I use work great on this phone. The processor is definitely fast enough and it's very responsive. The AMOLED display is wonderful. The form factor is perfect for my hands. Camera is good and it's even better with a different camera app, also there's a camera mod which I plan on getting. The battery is decent. It could be better with yet another mod. The mono speaker isn't very loud but I bought the jbl speaker mod and it sounds amazing! I love all the mods. Overall I'm very happy with purchase. Totally worth it and I highly recommend it.

It's a great phone. Updated to Android 9 out of the box, camera is decent but I added the Google camera app and made it better. Battery is pretty good for the size, and it's probably the best sounding cell phone I've ever used (for actual calls). Speaker is ok, not the best, but ok. Phone is very slippery but got a couple of cases plus a battery mid and it's good now. Side mounted fingerprint sensor is excellent. Oh and GREAT signal (I'm using Metro by T-Mobile). Great purchase and I'm very happy with it.

Best way to make this phone pay for itself is to put the price of two movie tickets under your mattress Everytime your wife wants to go to the movies. Turn on your Moto mod projector afterwards roll over and get ready for work the next day!

It's been a great phone, battery time is awesome and I love the battery mods, I often forget to charge my phone and when I do I use a fully charged mod and keep going.. the down side is I need to use my older phone to charge the extra battery mods I have. It's too bad there isn't away to charge the battery mods without the phone.. I have 3 batteries for this phone.. the only other regret is I didn't get the 64gig, the 32 has worked for me but my storage is always pretty full
