Purchased a month ago and working well so far. Hoping it will last a couple of years at least to recoup my costs versus paying the rental to the cable company. Smaller and lighter than the one from the cable company but has the same amount of ports and wireless capability. You have to call the cable company to have the modem initialized and in my case they were very cooperative.

Packing was superb. Connected Motorola N450 and straight away got ONLINE! without any issues whatsoever. No more going into the IP/network settings, no more compatibility issue. No more over-heating. No more 10$ extra per month to the providers. A long-term solution. a sturdy product.Go for it!

No problem with this modem setting up or using on in home WiFi system - easy to set up and good signal through out the house better speed than the rental xfinity modem & no unknown ‘public hotspot’ & saves that retail fee every month!!!

I bought this router to replace the one I was renting from Xfinity and as soon as I did, signal strength for all my devices maxed out and the speed was amazing. Very easy to hook up, one automated call and a little online set up, good to go. Very simple.

Excellent Modem/Router

So, I had a debacle with this modem/router that had absolutely nothing to do with the product itself, which I'll detail below. The product itself is amazing, works like a charm for it's purpose--two CPUs hooked up via Ethernet cable get 200+Mbps. WiFi is consistent, but we have Comcast, so how consistent could it possibly be, anyway.
However--speaking of Comcast--be very aware that if you call them to have an agent set it up for your internet service (it's a Comcast certified modem/router)--they may turn you down and tell you that it's not available for use per the model number, or that it's not actually certified at all--that's what I was told the first time I called.
I had to call twice to get an agent who knew what they were doing and who took care of it for me, it's all set up under Comcast and we're looking to return our provided Modem with no issues, continuing to use this one.
So just know if you have Comcast, be prepared to deal with the potential issues that may come with that, but otherwise, it works great.
5/5 anyway, because it details specifically how to hook up this router/modem onto specific cable services in the manual and everything. It's a great router, just an absolutely terrible cable/internet company.

My WiFi Router

After years of paying the cable company for a WiFi Router I found an opportune time to reduce my cable bill. Living in a rural area with very limited over air TV options. I was in a position to sign on to a cable option with no 2 year commitment that included internet.
The Motorola - N450 was one of the options I considered for a WiFi Router. I chose this because of the Motorola name and it resembled the units I had from the cable company as well as being a more updated model.
After purchasing the unit I carried it into the local cable company office and they registered the equipment for my account. Went home plugged it in and was up and running in a short time.
One month no problems, and I will break even in about 7 or 8 months versus paying the cable company.

Our old Motorola Surfboard died right when we moved into our new house. This is an excellent replacement. It was easy to set up and is very fast. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a simple to set up modem router combo.

Very Happy

Initially, I refused to by Motorola because I was not happy with my previous purchases of their products. I purchased ARRIS instead at about $40 more and experienced range problems in a small one bedroom apartment from the moment it was installed. In addition, I had to keep resetting it because the speed kept going down to almost 0. My network kept disappearing from the list of the available networks almost every 20 hours. Their tech supports were quick to respond, eager to help and took their time with me and even educated me. Although I rate their tech support excellent, there was nothing that could have been done. I kept changing my network channels but it seemed like that I was going to continue to have either the speed or the loss of my network or range issue no matter what I do. After calling the tech support two more times I finally gave up. I returned my Arris and replaced it with this Modem at $40 less and have not had any of those problems for the past 5 days. This makes me believe that's the way it's going to be and I am very happy with my purchase.

This router is really good. I had a router previously from Verizon and didn’t get good service at the far ends of my house. With this one it’s no problem. Three fulls bars of WiFi everywhere. Good price too. It will pay for itself after 8 months instead of renting from xfinity for 13 a month. Also, it’s compatible with xfinity. Buy this one instead of renting.

I replaced my Comcast router with this device and could tell a difference right away. I received a fast connection speed, a stable connection, and reliable. It worth the money and saving the rental fees from Comcast. Setup was easy and it wasn't a need even place a call to Comcast as long as you have your account number.

I recently moved from Centurylink to Xfinity and didn't want to rent a modem. I found this unit locally and the setup was a breeze for me. In addition, the unit has been stable and hasn't required a reset. The user interface is clean and easy to navigate. I am a professional in IT so many things tech are easy for me (note "many"). I would recommend buying this unit from BB and if it doesn't work for you, then return it.

Transferred my service from AT&T to Spectrum. Although the modem is free (for now) the router would be $5.00 per month. Didn't want to pay the fee. The best feature on this combo unit is that it is all in one - no need for two separate devices. So far it works like a champ and Best Buy online purchase had it ready for pickup in less than one hour! I am one pleased customer.
