Needed something to grind flax seeds. The Best Buy salesman recommended this unit - and it saved us money over the unit we intended to buy,

The only thing even slightly negative I could say is that it is loud. I live in an apartment building where the walls are a bit thin so I try to grind my coffee the night before just in case. I have been using mine several times a day for a month. I have not had any issue with it as some have mentioned, I also took mine apart after a month to check. It is very easy to check or I might have skipped it. I bought it to replace a cheap grinder that only had one setting. Though it is louder it delivers in the many grind options. I have been ordering Jamaican Blue mountain coffee after someone mentioned it was the best coffee they had tried, don't think I could go back to regular coffee. I use a french press and buy the coffee from a company that buys and roasts coffee from all over the world, they are on ebay. Best coffee I have ever had in my life, even better than the Kona from Hawaii. Anyhow, I wanted a good grinder that did not break the bank. This delivers and had a really good price. I love it and would recommend it.

    BASIC BURR GRINDER

I bought this coffee grinder because my Capresso burr grinder died on me after four short years. So I will be reviewing this new Mr. Coffee one, and compare it to the Capresso. First, this grinder is A LOT less expensive, that in itself makes it worth the purchase. The grinder is a bit noisy, but the Capresso was too (slightly less noisy). The design is nice, I like the blue LED light which tells you its plugged in and ready to go. This unit also has quite a few settings, designed for the type of coffee pot you have. I use a French Press, so its on that setting. It also has an adjustment for the amount of cups of coffee you are planning to make. Plus, the push button feature is easy, unlike the Capresso which had a dial you had to twist to the number of cups you are brewing. Overall, after adjusting it for the best settings for me, I would definitely recommend this unit.

I thought twice before buying this grinder because of the mixed reviews. I ended up using my rewards points toward buying it so the grinder was practically free for me. So for free, I decided to get this grinder. At first when I tried it, it worked awesome. It grinded the coffee beans without a problem. It is convenient to load the bean holder (bowl) on top and not worry about filling it up every time I need to grind coffee beans. After about five uses, the grinder didn't grind because the beans were not coming down from the bowl. I poked the bottom of the bowl with a spoon to try to remove any jammed beans that were not allowing the beans to flow freely to the grinder. That seemed to fix the problem until the same thing happened again after another three uses. I got frustrated and wanted to throw the grinder as far as I could for being a piece of junk. After I calmed down with the help of a few Coronas, I got happy and gave the grinder another chance. I unscrewed the bowl (You have to screw on the bowl when setting it up for the first time) and removed a few beans that were on the grinding teeth. I gave the grinding teeth a good once over brushing with the small brush that comes with the grinder. After that, the grinder worked perfectly every time since. It is convenient to set the dial at the amount of coffee you want to grind so that you can place the ground coffee immediately in your coffee machine and have fresh coffee. The grinder only grinds the amount you set for it to grind and automatically turns off once it reaches that amount. This was the selling point for me. You don't have to press a button several times to grind your coffee to your liking, like with other grinders. This machine grinds the amount you want and at the size you want your coffee to be grinded in one press of a button. The blue light at the dial to measure how many cups you want to grind, is a little brighter than I would like but, it is not too bright to the point of annoying me. You do have to brush out some of the coffee from the container it falls to after you grind your coffee. It does spill a little coffee if you are not careful pouring the ground coffee to your coffee machine. I have decided to keep the grinder as I found the pros to outweigh the cons. I have owned this grinder for one month and have not had any problems since the initial ones. Hopefully it does not break down before the warranty is over. I definitely recommend giving this grinder a chance if you are patient. If you are not, then maybe this grinder is not for you.

Very good grinding with enough bells and whistles (e. g. one button push for X-number of cups you want to set it for). Works like a charm, holds plenty of beans in its hopper, easy to clean. Not anywhere near as pricey as other products of the same ilk.

Excellent value for the money. I had one for 3 years, but something fell on it and it broke. Bought a second because of how much I liked it. Great for the price. Hard to get a burr grinder of value for the price, but this one is. Doesn't grind fine enough for espresso, but great for Drip, Perked, or even Turkish.

This is my second Burr grinder and it was about half the price of my first. Burr grinders are not the quietest coffee grinders, but the convenience of having a hopper and a single button to push for any selected quantity is great.

Nice upgrade from a blade grinder

I had a blade type grinder that didn't always grind the beans well and left nearly whole beans behind. This burr grinder is night and day better. I can choose how course or fine I want the grind to be. Get a perfect grind every time. There is some static in the bowl, but I have not used one anywhere that did not have any static. Also, the blue "ready" light can be annoying, but not horrible. Overall, this is a great beginner grinder that will not break the bank.

Does good job grinding beans for different types of coffee makers. Machine is a little large. Can be a little messy until you get the hang of emptying the ground beans.

Grinds very well. Container will actually hold a couple days worth. Container is a little hard to remove and it's a little difficult to try and remove all the coffee. Comes with brush and scoop. Scoop is way to small. Settings for grind type and cups is very easy to use. For the price; this item can't be beat.

There are 2 different kinds of grinders. The bad kind (blade), and the good kind (burr). This one ensures a good, consistent size of the grounds because it's a burr grinder. One of the cheapest. Go with this one.

Great coffee grinder, especially for the price. Precise grinds per cup, easy to set differing grinds for brewing methods. Used small grinder prior to this one, converted it to a spice grinder.

Note: I do not have any basis for comparison. Grinds as advertised. Like the adjust-ability and auto shut off. Took some trail and error but can now just hit the grind button and dump into coffee maker without measuring. Seems to work well. Little noisy for early morning activity if others are sleeping but probably unavoidable especially at this price point.

Look...you get what you pay for. This is a decent inexpensive espresso machine. My previous Mr Coffee lasted 8 years. I use it daily once, sometimes twice. Is it light weight, kinda thin plastic outer cover? Yes. Do you have to hold the unit with one hand to twist in the brewer handle with the coffee into the unit? Yes. But, it is fairly atractive on my counter next to the $30 Mr. Coffee grinder (looks great and works fine). As far as functionality, it does the job fine. I like that it heats up the water fast and the cycle is quick. In 2 minutes it’s done. Will it last as long as the previous one, who knows. I will tell you I use it daily and use ONLY distilled water. I don’t want to mess around with de-limers or vinegar. I’ve discovered if you want it to last, do two things: use distilled water or spring water that’s not hard, and, turn it off when the brewing cycle is over. Don’t leave it on for extended period of time with no water in it. Yes, it would be nice if it shut off after it finishes, but hey, it’s $40 people. Go spend three or four times that amount and you can get a classier looking unit with bells and whistles.

Great Deal ~ I like being able to grind quantity... more than a few scoops Draw back kinda messy..the lid is not hinged creating a scenario in which you have to remove the lid. Suggestion Mr. Coffee. Also, it didn't come with the scoop but Mr. Coffee did honor the purchase and sent me one for free! TY Mr. Coffee
