I bought this card to replace the GPU in a pre-built gaming system. The MSI RX 5500 XT is nothing special, but it was better than the GPU that came pre-installed, and doubled the video memory in my rig from 4GB to 8GB. This is no GTX 2070, despite having the same amount of video memory... but it gets the job done. It gives me an acceptable frame rate of 30fps on the ground and 40fps above 10,000 ft on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on the high end setting. If I kick that up to Ultra, it runs at 21-30fps. That is a considerable improvement over Microsoft Flight Simulator’s frame rate on the stock GPU on medium... Everything else I play from Shadow of Tomb Raider to Control can run on the highest settings at about 55fps at 1080p, but I think that limit is more a function of my monitor’s refresh rate and freesync. I would not recommend going any higher than 1080p on this card. My one complaint is the height of the card and the position of the 8-pin outlet for the power cable. Using this in a pre-built system, case size was a bit of a problem, and I needed an adapter to redirect the power cable in order to get the case the close. Probably not a problem for most users, but something to consider. Ultimately, this GPU does what I need it to, and it does it while allowing me to stick to the budget I set. (Side note: the specs recommend a 450w PSU, but on a pre-built system, AMD states that you can get away with less wattage. Personally, mine uses a 400w PSU and I have no problems even when the card draws the full 130 watt TPD. Ironically, the stock card that came in my system recommended a 550w PSU...)

Bought this card online new and it came in the mail cut opened with a box cutter through the cardboard inside the package, so it was shipped like that. Probably my last thing I'm a buy from bestbuy from now on since with problems in shipping. But anyways, installed the gpu in my gaming rig I built (Ryzen 5 3600, Asus tuf x570 plus wifi, 16 GB corsair ram, Phy 500gb m.2, 600w ps) on windows 10. The card wasnt recognized by windows so it installed windows basic drivers with poor quality, downloaded the adrenaline driver for the card online and ran it when the screen went blank and never came back on. I knew the computer was still working so I fiddled around by removing the new GPU and see if it still worked on old gpu and it did so I put it back in. The problem was the HDMI cable I was using, I guess it was a lower quality cable so I changed it out with a 4k gold pin Sony Hdmi and the screen came back on. Played some games on it and it ran smooth in high detail, and the fan is quiet.

Great GPU for the price. I Am able to play most newer games at high settings on 1080p. Would recommend this card to anyone for casual gaming.

Got a 8GB 5500XT $20 cheaper than everywhere else and 2 free games + Game Pass. Also runs games very smoothly at 1080p. Unfortunately, part of the box and protective foam inside received a big gash from a boxcutter. Luckily it missed the GPU itself and the antistatic bag.

I was just needing to play games at 1080p resolution on an old in i7 3770. This card barely fit in my HP case I hadn't realized how wide (5 inches) the card was. So far this card has not let me down. I've also used it for H.265 VCE encoding and it's speed up processing times as compared to my old CPU. AMD has updated the drivers once since I've had it and I do like the ability to report bugs via the bug report option. I know there are more powerful cards out there, but for the price and my CPU capabilities, it's a fair deal in this GPU market. GPU cards never really seem to go down in price and I've been waiting since 2015 for them to do so between the Crypto mining boom and Covid disruptions. Folks will say to wait until the end of the year, but I have my doubts that card prices will fall that much on newer and more efficient lower end cards like theses. It's almost been a full year since this model came out at it's still at regular price. Hopefully with Intel getting in the market sooner than later and AMD becoming more competitive that prices will fall as they both compete with NVIDIA.

Bought this to complete an X-mas gift build. Due to the current GPU crisis I opted to find a budget card. Was able to grab this on sale for $189 and it's a great buy for a budget gaming rig and should be fine for most games at 1080p medium settings at 60+ fps. This is more or less an entry level GPU for PC gaming, but slightly better than other 5500xt's as it has 8gb ddr6 vram. Easy to install, stays cool, the black and gunmetal gray will match most setups. At the time of purchase it came with a Godfall which sweetened the deal a little more. Very satisfied overall. Would recommend to anyone looking to play games on a modest rig and not break the bank.

The 5500xt is a great budget video card. It runs almost every game at full ultra settings on 1080p. If you're looking for 4k gaming, you'll have to fork out a bit more money. If you're just looking to get your game on in a decent rig this is the card for you. It has ran every game I throw at it including the newest AAA titles at well over 60fps at 1080p and it runs nice and cool and is quiet even during intense sessions. I recommend this to anyone that is getting into PC gaming or someone that isn't a huge enthusiast and just wants to game.

Made the switch from NVIDIA to AMD. Nvidia is getting too expensive and AMD is a good bang for the buck. Upgraded from a EVGA 1050ti that I had for years. The 5500xt is a great card for the price and would recommend it to anyone. Tip: When switching from Nvidia drivers to AMD, make sure to download DDU from wagnards and uninstall and clean the Nvidia drivers and I y’all the latest drivers of the AMD card you’re using before swapping out the cards. I made the mistake and got a black screen. To do this properly make sure when you do uninstall the Nvidia drivers from your computer to do it through windows safe mode. This will also make sure the windows drivers are working properly. Once finished uninstalling the Nvidia drivers do the same thing for AMD as windows will automatically come with pre-set drivers for both so you want to both just to avoid any issues that can occur. There are helpful YouTube videos on how to do this. Also if you happen to have any other issues or errors do not fret, AMD has a customer support number and they are very helpful when things like this occurs. Happy gaming!

This GPU is good for what it is which is a big upgrade from onboard CPU graphics processing but not incredibly powerful like some newer models. Its biggest disadvantage is the size of it, which makes installing things like, for example, a pro capture card a little more difficult, but definitely not impossible. Overall very pleased and time will tell in regards to lasting power. I should also note that I bought this on sale; not sure I would pay full price for this when there are newer models for a comparable price.

Went from NVIDIA products for years, I have been running software for over 50 years, I have never seen software that runs hardware like the software (control panel) that comes with the AMD Card. Once you see the difference you will NEVER purchase another product from NVIDIA. The NVIDIA control looks like it was written by a 5th grader compared to the AMD Control Panel. Google it if you have to for screenshots and see for yourself.

This graphics card was a decent upgrade from the xfx 580 4GB graphics I had before. I am able to play most of my games at high setting with an average of 55fps. Not bad. For those reviews from cards not working. It could have been due to amd older adrenalin drivers. The latest adrenaline drivers are very reliable, and have not had any issues in a long time.

Bought this as a holdover until the next gen cards are actually in stock. Installed middle November 2020, returned first week of December 2020. Very good performance for the price on with games like the MCC and Doom Eternal, but started regularly crashing when set to 2k resolution. Artifacting, driver crashes. Tried different cables, a different monitor, updating the drivers, updating Windows, using MSI Afterburner to crank the fans to make sure it wasn't overheating. Nothing worked. Installed the 1050ti from my old build, and it worked fine. No crashes, but the performance wasn't as good. I just needed to last 4-6 months. In short, it was a great two weeks. It'd be a solid 4, maybe 5 star card if it lasted longer.

My old card was showing signs of being a bit too outdated so I had to upgrade. Like everyone else, I am trying to get one of the newest gen cards and needed something to hold me over. This card has definitely stepped up. Although it doesn't have ray tracing, the lighting graphics still look amazing. I can play Cyberpunk2077 at max settings with NO issues at all.

I found this GPU to be surprisingly easy to work with, and runs great! I've had no over heat or bog down issues with it, playing GodFall, Warframe, Castelvania :Lord Of Shadows, Destiny 2, and a few other games. I also do some graphic designing, using programs like Blender 2.9(3D/2D modeling) and Krita(paint program) with no issues thus far!

I had a broken down GTX 1080 in my last build, and I replaced it with the RX5500 XT. I expected it would be a major downgrade but I was impressed that I could barely tell a difference. Good deal for the price which is 50%< GTX.
