This is a great card! Stock it tends to run hot and throttle but like most Ampere cards once you undervolt it and adjust the fan curve in Afterburner it runs like a champ while using less power and running cooler. It was one of the few 3080's that would actually fit in my case without taking a fan out so that was a bonus.

I hold records with this card set to stock settings... Enough said. Too bad was on evga bios. But solid components make the gpu the bios just sets it free.
The pictured benchmark scores belong to card and I. Build pics possible in future, current cpu cooler issues won't allow it.

I’m glad I got it at $750 before the price increase. It’s can run any game at 4K max setting 60fps. It’s run little hot but I undervolt and it’s run cooler.

iRacing only, and it's solid in VR.

4-stars? 5-stars? I don't know. I just know that I'm coming from an old machine to a 5600x/3080 rig and iRacing is basically the only game I play. I turned the graphics slider to max (which doesn't literally max everything out, btw, but I figure it's a baseline for anyone who is curious), and I have yet to see below the 90fps lock that comes with this Lenovo Explorer VR HMD (even with 30 other Ai cars). On a single monitor at 1440p I was getting 300-400fps alone in testing, sometimes over 400.
I did not use the support bracket, because I personally didn't like how it works. I read that others like it, but I didn't. My motherboard is reinforced at the PCI slot, and I may create my own bracket.
There are no stability issues that I can see thus far. I have not tried overclocking, and probably won't mess with that.
I'm a little disappointed with the pricing. Even big box places like BB have raised the price on this card. I paid well over original Nvidia MSRP, and a few weeks later the price is $100 more than I paid. This really decreases the "value" of the card. I marked the value as "poor". If the card were more in line with MSRP, I'd mark it a much better value.

As massive as it is powerful. Plays every game you can throw at it on ultra with solid frames. Very happy with best buys communication as I was rather anxious about this thing going through the mail.

It’s a 3080...not my first choice but with the current demand it was the only one I was able to get. The “graphene” backplate is actually cheap plastic with maybe a small amount of graphene underneath. I have taken the card apart to put better 3.0mm thermal pads on the memory and now the memory junction temps are down 5C when I stress test or game on the card. I also added some pure copper heatsinks to the back in rows where the VRAM is underneath the backplate. An additional case fan above the backplate helps pull the heat away from the VRAM and out of the case. Shouldn’t have to mod a card that’s this expensive but such is the state of MSI offering. I would buy an EVGA with aluminum backplate if the opportunity arises.

I just got my order this morning by picking up at store. The card works so great. I love it.
But there is one thing that I don't satisfy is the box of the card was damaged so badly. I hope BB be aware of taking care customer's order even though it is for in store pick up.

Bought in November 2020 before the price hike due to world wide chip shortages. Not my first or even fifth choice for a 3080 model, but with bots & everyone else buying them instantly, you have to make due with whatever model you can actually get. I've had very bad experiences with MSI products in the past, but so far this card has been running fine almost on 24/7 these past 9 months.
Average idle temps are ~140-150F degrees depending on ambient room temps. When playing games temps average around ~185F degrees. As many others have stated, it does run hotter compared to other 3080 cards though, but I haven't had any issues yet. Just make sure your case has good airflow.
The 3080 is a powerhouse. Can play every modern game on Max settings on 1440p (2k) resolution, while streaming/recording gameplay, & even while watching videos on another monitor ~ all at once. I have a 1200w PSU powering it with 4 monitors connected to it.

An absolute beast to pair with a 3440x1440p monitor, upgrading from a 2070. barely any, if any at all, settings need to be under max to get a stable 120fps in any game i've tried.
no special connector needed for the PSU to connect (unlike founders edition).
i see others saying it runs hot but i'm not experiencing that.

This card is a really solid entry into the 3080 lineup. It stays cool under load (at least for me), and is relatively quiet. It is long though. I had to remove the lower intake fan on my case in order to fit this in. (case is a meshify-c, fyi)
Great gaming performance as expected. No issues at all so far! A little overpriced probably, due to the great GPU shortage.

this card is great! i will say it does run hot at full load and i was getting the game crashes once it went over 2000mhz. to solve both these issue's i simply undervolted the card a little and clocked the speeds to 1925mhz and no crashes and no noticeable performance drops also my temps went down from 78-80c to 63-66c. over all this card is great for me and couldn't be happier

I recently bought a pc and selected this GPU for my setup. I upgraded my PC for Cyberpunk 2077 and have been impressed. I am currently running the game at 2K ultra settings, with ray-tracing and DLSS on and it looks amazing. The card looks intense, it runs quietly, and does what its suppose to!

Super fast card, but the backplate on this is plastic, at least it feels this way, rather than metal. This means it will be more of an insulator and the GDDR6X already runs fast and hot as is. Also, the price . . . ouch.

This was the 3080 I got a hold of and I was worried about it since I heard there were concerns about the cooling and the graphene backplate. Upon trying it out though it seems to do just fine! The graphene backplate does absorb the heat from the back just fine and temps stay decently low. It might not be as fancy as a humongous cooler like on the suprim or EVGA ftw3, but it definitely holds its own. Great card. Also no RGB might be a drawback for some, but it definitely looks nice enough and would be perfect in a minimal non-rgb build.

Got this for my cousin, he loves it. Other than the fact that these new 30 series cards are humongous, they other such a huge generational leap opposed to the 20 series. Thank you to Bestbuy for giving normal people a chance to buy GPUs in this day and age where bots rule humanity. Thank you Bestbuy!

Installed with no issues and ran exactly as expected. Has very solid cooling (I reach a peak of ~68C at 100% load).
For a user who's going to do minimal/no overclocking, it's the perfect enthusiest card.
My biggest annoyance is that despite only have a 2 PCIe slot cover, it actually takes up 3 slots worth of space. That seems to be an issue with nearly all 30 series cards, though.

Thermals are a known issue with this card it runs super hot and beware the backplate is plastic. I just believe the build quality and lack of RGB with how terrible the thermals are this card just isn’t worth the money. Get a FE or spend a little more for a Tuff or Strix.

Despite the price increases, this is still an amazing card. The best thing about MSI is the synchronization with MSI Afterburner software to completely tune all of your performance and cooling needs. Will definitely do the job of playing all your favorite games like any other 3080 would.
