This is a great GPU, and if you have a ITX/SFF build there's no better model other than maybe the FE. Fits well with room to spare in my nr200p case. Nice minimalist design with no RGB, no fancy design...just 100% performance focused. Before the 4080s came out I would have recommended the 7900xtx, but now with the 4080s at the same price point (if you can find one at MSRP), the 4080s is 10/10 the card I would recommend. It matches the 7900xtx until you turn on ray tracing, then 4080s absolutely destroys it. And with game changing features like DLSS 3 and frame gen, 4080 is a no brainer. Temps on this particular model are good. At 100% load hovers around 70c-74c which is pretty solid especially in a ITX cases. If you have ATX case temps will probably be even better. It is also very power efficient. PSU requirements state 320w but I didn't see it pull more than ~200w even in the most punishing titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Returnal, etc I still think it's ridiculous that 1k doesn't get you the top tier GPU in 2024 but it is what it is. If you want a 4k capable GPU that can push triple digit FPS in the most demanding titles with RT...this is the one to get.

    No coil whine

Finally, a fair and worthy GPU with ray tracing. I spent the last two generations with a Radeon because I didn't want to spend $100-150 extra for "RTX on, FPS off". RTX cards now work plenty good enough to enjoy both, and the cost difference between this and a 7900XTX -- the 4080S's nearest rasterization rival -- was marginal. This card is the whole package. At full tilt, it's nice and quiet, both in terms of fan noise and coil whine. In my 25 years of gaming, I can't recall a time my GPU didn't produce some amount of coil whine. What a treat! Nvidia drivers and software are as good as ever, too. Automatic graphic setting optimization, DLSS, and DLAA. I can't believe I'm spending a grand for the tier cards I was paying $4-500 for 20 years ago. That's definitely exceeding the change due to inflation. But the new Indiana Jones is the only game I'm not maxing the settings for on my 1440p ultra-wide, so... worth? I guess that's your call.

Stepping from a EVGA 2070 to this. Not only is this card really powerful, runs cool and has no coil whine whatsoever, it also looks great even without RGB. This card paired with a good system will run any game that is currently out with max settings with no sweat.

Most of the time I don't do reviews. However, in this case I am. This card is awesome! MSI nailed it with this one. I'm coming from an EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 OC and I absolutely loved that card after tuning it. Right out of the box this thing ran quieter and cooler and was hitting 2680 mhz on the core. Even at that speed and 1.04 mv on the core (no tuning) it was running around 68 to 70C and I have an SFF build (NR200P MAX). Just awesome right out of the box! I decided to do some tuning and I couldn't be happier. I was able to undervolt to .975 with a clock core of 2700 mhz, a memory overclock of 1000 mhz, and temps while playing were in the low 60s! While this card may lack some of the RGB features others have, to me it is about function over form and MSI nailed it! I would love it if the price was a little less but that's NVIDIA's doing. For $30 more you get an awesome performing overclocked card. Zero complaints!

It is a very nice card, temps hardly ever go over 70c even on intensive games. It is expensive, though that is no fault of the card. The card is well-built and has no noticeable coil whine or fan noise.

It's a great card, the mounting bracket is not so supportive- and the massive card has caused my PC to die randomly until I realised it was hinging itself out of the PCIE socket. One other thing is the 12V hpwr cable is waaaaay too short - I bought PSU specific 8 pin PCIE extenders to plug these in as the instructions indicate we should not use a two cable splitter. As a 320W graphics card, it did worry me that each 8 pin socket only provided 150W (I have a very old PSU) so I spent about 50$ to get three more connectors to make sure it was fully powered - there could be clearer documentation around why we shouldn't use a voltage splitter Out of the box though, this card was unusable as I did not have the connectors (they are PSU Specific).

The 4080S tears through any game I throw at it. 4K 120FPS+ is easily achieveable with this graohics card. DLSS with frame generation is like magic and combined with low latency mode on ultra. You will feel like you're in another world.

Upgraded from a dying 2080ti to this card. Can't be any more happy. The card is such a beast on Blender, especially on Cycles. Have had no issues with the fans and card runs at a cool temperature.

I’ve finally achieved my goal of smooth 4k 60fps on absolute max settings I am finally done with climbing the ladder I don’t need another gpu as this one does all I ever wanted you can also get into those quirky 40 series features that allow games like Alan wake 2 to run at max settings 90fps compared to 30 fps on medium settings on my rtx 3080.
