Customers highly value the Stealth GS66's performance and build quality, citing its impressive speed and solid construction. Positive feedback also highlights the ample RAM and relatively light weight for a gaming laptop, although some users note the fans can be loud at times. The battery life is considered decent for non-gaming tasks.

I was surprised when doing a search that this came up under 3070Ti. I literally did a double take and scooped it up immediately. Didn't think that these would be available to buy so soon... especially at Best Buy.
12th Gen Intel is a game changer. Do not get anything less. If you can't afford it then just wait until you can.
I'm not too impressed with the 3070Ti since I was expecting a bigger jump from last year's 3070. Only difference I see may come from the added 10 watts of total power the GPU gets on these units. Maybe with a few more updates we will see a bigger difference.
The screen is really good. I would say around 300-350 nits.
Has Windows hello support via web cam and fingerprint reader.
Port selection is great, just wish it had a SD card slot.
Has a super-fast Gen4 NVME drive. DDR5 Ram
Time Spy score is around 10K - 10.5K depending on the OC tweaking.
Cinebench R23 multi core gets me 17,068.
Single Core gets 1,925 which tops the list at the moment.
SOTTR got me 110 FPS at Highest settings.
Keyboard and track pad is awesome.
Speakers aren't that great but definitely not the worst I've seen.
Overall, this is an awesome laptop for gaming that can be disguised as a workstation.
MSI knocked it out of the park again!

Pick this one today and open it, I notice that the RAM type is DDR4 not DDR5 as advertised. Buyer beware!!! I was trying to ask Best Buy to replace it with the right one but they said to me that the ads might be wrong. So I just return it.

The new GS66 with the 12th gen 12900h CPU is extremely fast. My previous machine was the blade 14 with the amd 5900hx and the MSI feel so much faster. On top of that 32gb of DDR 5 ram, and the 360hz screen makes this thing feel extremely snappy.
Gaming is great, plenty of power, and a perfect resolution of 1080p for a laptop. Very smooth and no stuttering or jitteriness.
I quite enjoy the keyboard, and the trackpad feels very smooth and gives a feeling of good control over the cursor.
The only issue i've had so far is that sometimes the nvidia GPU does not want to power down, while on battery. Usually a reboot resolves this, and hopefully over time MSI, nvidia or intel (whoever the issue is caused by) will make it more reliable. It is nice that MSi includes an LED on the keyboard indicating which GPU is in use (white = iGPU, orange = dGPU).
When the dGPU shuts off properly, i've gotten 6 hours of youtube video watching on battery, which is really quite good for all of the power packed into this slim machine.
While gaming the machine case stays very cool, quite comfortable on the hands, i'm very happy with its performance.

The good -
-Display looks brilliant for a 1080p screen. Surprisingly good contrast and no bleeding.
-Form factor is no nonsense, except the keyboard font
-Performance is good, and bios gives lots of good control over cooling
-The LED on the power button indicating when the dGPU is in use is a nice touch
-Decent enough battery life for regular (non-gaming) usage
The bad:
-Device fails to boot 33-50% of the time. Must be hard power cycled to fix. Not windows software related, doesn't even seem to POST. Two bios updates later and its still an issue, which is why its going back.
-Fans are always running, even under light loads
-Calling this thing a fingerprint magnet is an understatement. I know you're thinking this won't bother you that much - it will more than you think.
-USB-C charging does not seem to follow the USB-PD spec and only works with specific PD chargers. Very frustrating.
-Preinstalled software. Audio software (nahamic) is near impossible to remove and borderline malicious.
-It seems bizarre to make such an understated laptop and pick this keyboard font; but knew that before getting it.
Final thoughts - if you're spending this much money on a laptop, do you want to compromise on reliability and consistency? The boot issue and USB charging issues are dealbreakers for me.

The performance of this laptop is incredible. I'm able to play games with sliders maxed out and it runs smoothly. Sure, the fans can be loud when gaming but never noticed the laptop getting hot- so they're doing their job.
The build quality is also high quality and feels solid. Specs on this laptop are excellent too.
BUT-- the laptop will only turn on about every 5 times. Majority of the time, the fans spin up and the screen remains off. Hopefully this is just a one off issue and the entire batch doesn't share this problem. Have to return.

MSI makes some solid laptop I love the blacked metal exterior even though its a bit of a finger print magnet, the sound is good and the speed is reliable. Im running it though its paces foe the next while. One major issue I had was on its very first boot up with me I pressed and held the power button. The power button light came on fans spun up and.... black screen... honestly my heart broke I was looking forward to this laptop. I made a forced restart and lucky we had signs on life booted up successfully was able to go through the set up process and get it moving. However I do b run in to that same issue every now and again so I belive there might be some up date that needs to be made, or I receded a unit with bad hardware. Will continue to up date with more info.

Great performance. I had the chance to try both this and the MSI Raider with a 12700H and 3070ti. The raider did have better FPS in most games I tried, but surprisingly not by as much as I expected considering the huge wattage difference. All in all I'd trade that little bit of performance for the awesome build quality and portability of the stealth in a heart beat. The IR windows hello login as well as the fingerprint scanner are great QOL touches too. Only downsides are that 360hz is a bit over kill, if possible I'd suggest the 1440p 240hz version of this laptop, but the screen on this one isn't bad at all. Only other downside would be that this laptop is an absolute fingerprint magnet, I've already given up on cleaning it and have accepted the smudges.

I use this as my main work computer and don’t game on it. So, perhaps this can be useful for other designers and animators looking for decent options. I do mostly 2D animation in After Effects, Illustration, and design. This is an absolute beasts for those tasks for a laptop under $3k. You can’t really beat it for the price. I use some Blender and gpu heavy plugins for AE and this machine handles them well. I briefly dabbled with a Surface Laptop Studio and really liked it, but found it underpowered for animation. This one totally fits the bill for me.
If I had to critique one thing it would be that I don’t love the monitor. That said, it doesn’t bother me at all because I prefer to have it closed and running through an external monitor with a wireless mouse and keyboard.

There is a cure for the black screen issues!!

I was worried when I saw the low reviews and comments about the black boot up screen. And let me tell you I replicated this issue pretty quick out of the box BUT I've figured out what it is. See with all this talk of muk switches and chatter about turning off integrated graphics this was the cause of my black screen on boot.
I ran a bench mark for FFxiv and noticed pretty quickly that the bench was using only integrated graphics which was very 'ew' for me. That caused me to go into the nVidia control panel under manage 3D settings and force it to use only the 3070ti.
This!! is what caused the black screen on boot up. You'll notice the power button is orange that means it's using the nVidia card. Usually I could force reboot it a few times of holding the power button. You want the button with a white LED to avoid this issue. If this is you then in the nVidia control panel: under manage 3D setting > under the global settings tab > make sure it says "Integrated Graphics."
This laptop scores in the "Extremely High" category for XIV End Walker bench if anyone is thinking of buying this to play Final Fantasy Xiv.
Past the black screen issues this Laptop runs like a hot knife on butter.

Cannot recommend, build quality is good and has decent specs for the price BUT the inability to turn on/boot is a major problem, I had to reset the machine by holding down the power button for 60 seconds every other time I tried booting the laptop. The fans would come on, but no screen. It does seem to be a common issue with this model.

Opened it up inside Best Buy on day of pickup. Tried powering it on, it wouldn't power up.
Plugged it in at home to a wall outlet and the laptop let out a loud static shock noise.
It has been running great. Lots of updating and installing without heating or loud fan noises (using headset) the keys are slick and responsive. Very decent size keyboard. Beautiful design. -1 star because it was not charged for initial power up and because the sound it made was concerning.

Runs great out of the box. Will have to buy a cooler for underneath due to the heat generation. I wish there were more USB type a plugs, so I had to buy a hub. Just a few small little things keeping this from being a five star review.

Big fan of the stealth series laptops. This is a very light weight powerful laptop perfect for gaming and IT work. Very vivid screen, a snappy 12th gen I9, 32 gbs of 4800 mhz memory and a 3070ti. For the price this is a steal.
Def recommend.

Frist off the label on the box says DDR4 but its actually DDR5. The box is not labeled correct, so don`t worry about this. I promise its running at DDR5 speeds.
The good:
I love the design of this laptop and the specs are perfect. I see so many laptops on the market that are not correctly built. In today`s world you want 32GB of ram and at least 1TB of storage. Its also great that you can get this within a few days. The parts chosen are just want you want.
The disappointment:
When I saw the specs you could say I was little disappointed in the performance. I also have a desktop with similar specs which I planned on selling to a friend. Now I am seconding guessing if this can replace a desktop. Maybe I expected to much and it should only be compared to other laptops. which I still have mixed feelings on it. I still might keep it and learn to adjust.
