MTX is a brand I have trusted for mobile audio for years. This was my first home audio purchase with the brand and I am very pleased. These speakers sound and look great.

    Building a Home Theater?

Building a Home Theater? 1st off, go to a website for manufacturers of speakers for commercial cinemas. You'll find that "ALL" of the speakers designed for & distributed to your local Cinemas use horn loaded drivers. This is 1 of the secrets to their magic sound. "This Theatrical Magic Sound is Achieved via Horn Loaded Drivers." Behind the Screen and along the walls are horn loaded speakers. Point is made I take it? Moreover, majority of their surround or wall mounted speakers have 8 inch woofers that accompany the horn tweeters. Low & behold? These MTX Audio - MTX 8" 225W 2-way Speakers are almost "exact twins" to those Cinema speakers. Again, checkout what I've posted here for yourself. Now, after you surf the sites & find I am correct and you'll also find, these MTX models have similar measurements. It's my belief that these MTX Audio - MTX 8" 225W 2-way Speakers, if, mounted in the Dolby spec array as recommended and are powered by a decent AV Receiver, you'll have real theatrical sound in your home. Ofcourse you'll need a good subwoofer to deliver that "oompf" we all feel at the Theater during action films. Budget is everything ...right? Seeing that these speakers come with adjustable mounting brackets make these a no-brainer choice. Whether your planning a 5.1, 7.1, or, a full blown ATMOS surround system? These industrial strength speakers will not just do the job, they'll look good doing it too! I know, I know, you've read "THEY ARE OUTDOOR SPEAKERS!" Wrong. They're "Indoor - Outdoor" speakers. Which = Robustly built to last. My main caveat is... You'll need to power them with a real AV Receiver. Like a Yamaha AV with 100 wpc at least. Then use a real subwoofer like the 450 watt BIC F12 powered sub. Hey? There's never been a better time for speaker buying! 7 of these beauties + a powerful sub? Your Frontroom or Basement Home Theater will be the envy of all your friends! ~ peace
